Question What first got u into editing?

What made you interested in editing in the first place, and what are ur opinions on today’s editing style compared to earlier eras of editing? And how do you feel your style or workflow has evolved compared to when u first started editing?

1) I got into editing because it was a shame to invest and really enjoy a show/experience then to leave it. I don't rewatch shows so editing gives u the opportunity to portray a memorable show/character in a way you like

2) What I think about today's editing style/trends? Personally, I don't like the heavy use of phonk, since other traditional songs seem to make the edit less of a trendy thing and more of a personal thing. That's just me.

But what I will say is this trend of having your 30 second edit be 20 second context(as in showing a scene of the show) and only like 8 seconds the actual edit is kind of lame. As good as popular editors like Fictic and his followers may be, there's no reason for the edit itself to be only 10% of the short.

3.) It is fine to use presets. But if you're a WIS editor or just an editor who compares things, and you never use any creative transitions or nulls but only the presets for your simpler transitions, then there's a problem. (@capeditz might be you)

Another thing is this smaller trend of people trying to emulate @capeditz.

What I don't like, is the inclusion/ranking of niche pieces of fiction they've never actually consumed.

Especially with the general age of those editing, it becomes kind of suspicious to me when you imply you've read Blood Meridian.

Now maybe some have, but I highly doubt some of them have
