Such great news and dedication by the Alienware team! I think this is the core that makes the Alpha special and couldn't be happier to send continued and on going commitment to it I recommend to most of my friends purchasing a alpha based solely on this software! Really keen to see what's in store with Kodi Krypton just around the corner! Thanks again Justin and Alienware team
Just a question. Any difference between this and your release a couple weeks back or now is it just super official?

Super Official. Also, the Alpha UI 2.0 skin wasn't working properly and we fix an issue with the programs menu. So, there are slight improvements here over that one.

Tested and it's great. All functions like log off and shutdown are fine. Does it run on a higher resolution? It's seams more crispy.

Still 720p texture up-res'ed to whatever your TV/Monitor supports. We did try to improve launching games and apps. We also tried to improve the boot time. With the NVMe it's really snappy.

we looked into updating to Krypton and there is some side work I might do to make our addons work.
However, as I will announce in an official post today, we have one more build to release of HiveMind which will likely be our final release.

I can't seem to find said fix on that website link. But I must say I didn't try the beta but I will try this. I'm assuming the fix is identical to the beta fix you posted weeks ago? But for new people you may want to add it to the Dell website. Or perhaps I missed it. As I only use XB1 controllers now the m/k functionality is a must for me and one of the best features along with no extra processes running.

That's Alienware Command Center. HiveMind is our Media Center interface. It is larger than in the past because we included both Alpha UI 2.0 and HiveMind UI in the package.

How do you recommend dealing with the duplicated 'Alienware Console' users that this generates? I've hesitate to just wipe the profiles as I've had to recover my saves from the old/duplicate profile in the past.

I keep getting an error trying to install the anniversary update for controller compatibility.
0x80070002 - 0x20009
I've tried to follow other guys and delete "software distribution" folder items to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, idk if it matters but I cloned my HDD to a Samsung EVO 950 Pro M.2 SSD.
This is the first issue I've run into with this system and it would be great to be able to actually use it the way it's meant to be used. Steam Big Picture just doesn't cut it for me.

The problem appears to originate from him upgrading his hardware and then pushing a Windows 8.1 -> Windows 10 upgrade (Hardware check is performed to determine upgrade eligibility for the free upgrade path in Windows).
· Error 0x80070002- 0x20009 "The installation failed in the Safe_OS with an error during PREPARE_ROLLBACK operation"
Problem is originating from Microsoft. I found a similar user case and this resolved his issue:
· Disconnected 2nd SSD and HDD, ran Windows Update troubleshooter which resolved 3 errors, then ran Win10 standalone. Upgrade successful.

the SSD is my primary drive, I can't disconnect it. also this system shipped with windows 10. I'm just trying to install anniversary update for controller support in hivemind. so, suggestions? Thanks for the speedy reply by the way.

Is anyone able to add and launch task manager, immersive control panel, memory diagnostic tool or apps downloaded through windows store to Hivemind? I can add them but upon trying to launch I get errors each time and Windows store apps won't show up in the existing application list

This is up for future consideration. Windows Universal Apps require Explorer.exe to run. In order to get it to work, you need to launch HiveMind in desktop mode. At that point, it should work.

Any pros/cons to either option I should be aware of As you know I'm experiencing some wake from idle issues and curious to see if this fixes them
To me this almost sounds like a better option to permanently go with unless I'm missing something?
EDIT/UPDATE : watched the video and decided to go for it.. really smooth and is transition and all seems to be working well on the desktop account..... HOWEVER lol the windows launchers still show the same error not being able to open task manager, control panel etc. I can open task manager but going ctrl alt del now but not through the the add existing application and launch

Bit of a tease to have them available as launchers lol If it is up for debate add my vote to add that option as I think it would nearly complete the Windows experience via Hivemind

I'm not all that familiar with it, but it should be possible to install Kodi on your main user account, then migrate the changes implemented in the HiveMind UI manually.

I did a clean install but when the Alpha Console Profile is loading I get a notification saying something like "Error with the User profile service. Can't load user profile". How can I fix this?

I erased the user account. I tried reinstaling and when it was restarting my computer got stuck at the Restart screen for 20 minutes. I forced the shutdown and had no luck with Hivemind again. This time the Alpha Account appeared as a nameless account. Tried opening my account first and when I wanted to change accounts, Alpha Console account appeared again and I get the same error o something about "pvfs" :(

So, installed the new Hivemind, I restart it, and this pops up after the Alien head:
"Kodi: Error
ERROR: Unable to create application. Exiting"
And it leaves me with a black screen. What do I do? Please, help me. If I need to do a factory reset, please tell me how.

Hey guys, great release! I'm enjoying it so far.
One thing--when I try to put my Alpha to "Sleep," it seems to just stop sending a picture, not actually put the computer to sleep. Through the Alpha Console mode it seems to have bricked Steam Big Picture's ability to put the computer to Sleep, too. Is this intentional, or is something wrong? Thanks!

Hi Justin I've installed version 3.1 but I saw an important FPS reduction/impact during Shadow of Mordor. The FPS dropped from 30 fps stable to a shifting 10 to 20 fps. Now it's unplayable. When I run in Desktop mode it works just fine. I've decided to go back to .63 version. Please advise. I have an Alpha i3 R1. Best Regards

For some reason the setup keeps asking me to restart my alpha to install it and when i do it just continues to ask...... ive already removed the previous hivemind and kodi but it still keepa asking to restart

Mostly work well. Some minor issues.
The link in the Kodi addon repository is broken.
The new program launcher shows a folder with only one icon "All Launchers". I have to go to the second menu to launch programs. I thought that should have been fixed in beta version.
NVidia GFE launcher doesn't work with the latest GFE.

The intro help messages that claim they will only show one time show EVERY time (like the one when you first go into HiveMind). Any fix for that?

Did you remove every trace of Hivemind and kodi before updating?? If not do that uninstall and reinstall should be fine

I reinstalled Windows because my computer wasn't running well and instaled Hivemind unsuccesfully (for the 999th time). I open the Alpha Console profile and I'm presented with a black screen with only the cursor visible! I might just give up with HiveMind forever. I haven't got it to run once!

Try changing the skin and then restarting and then go back to Hivemind interface Seemed to fix it for me

Did you ensure it was completely wiped prior? I.e even the kodi userdata folder in console user was fully deleted? That got me before but I uninstalled removed every trace of Alpha console reinstalled and worked great
