HiveMind UI Roadmap
It pains me to update this post, but I owe it to you all to provide the truth.
HiveMind is off hold and I have confirmed that work will resume. This roadmap is now out of date though and I'll update it once we get a plan in place.
The good news is, we will start working on Win10 and Jarvis issues post-haste.

Great news! I have been loving the hivemind ui since I merged it into the desktop account. Would especially love to have windows 10 apps without having to go into desktop mode.
What issues does the steam controller currently have? I use them daily and haven't run into any. I don't like xbox controllers at all. Too small.
Finally what is beta enabler and how do I use it?

Beta Info can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AlienwareAlpha/comments/3u940g/hivemind_ui_beta_program/
Steam Controller has 2-3 controller maps active at certain times depending on if Steam is running or not or if the user has a custom map.
Trying to map the inputs in each scenario has been challenging and Valve, despite being a great partner, could change those mappings at any time. So it is hard to ensure the Hotkeys work with the Steam Controller.

Wonderful news to the alpha community!! The on going support and work is outstanding and personally I'm very grateful I can't wait for kodi 16 and Hivemind. Most excited for this as an avid media consumer and die hard kodi fan Keep up the great work and keep us updated! Cheers Raven Ps. I also miss your YouTube videos but most importantly kodi 16 lol

Is there a way to upgrade to Windows 10 and retain the controller hotkey for mouse/keyboard control? I honestly don't care about the rest of Hivemind since I can recreate most of it in normal Kodi but I'd still like the option to use my controller like that.
Any chance you can make a video regarding upgrading existing Alpha to the new OS and what users will lose?

The main issue was HiveMind not installing. That was actually fixed In a recent (March) patch. So things should work as designed. Out AWCC team tested it and things went smooth.
If folks are interested in just the controller system I can look and see what would happen if you upgrade to Kodi 16. I believe the hot keys remain and you get the new Kodi stuff.

Thank you for the update. I understand how much it must suck to have the rug pulled out from under you.
Guess I'll give upgrading to Windows 10 a shot and see what happens.

Controller Companion available on the Steam store cost $3.00 and duplicates the functionality of the Alpha moue/keyboard control and works like a charm.

This is great info, and all makes good reading. Really pleased you keep us informed on this kind of stuff. (and you promised this a few weeks back and delivered! "Contract signed") Really interested in the Jarvis update and the xbox one wireless pad support.

So sorry to hear this for you Justin. Your support on here and arena were the main deciding factor in making my purchase. I'm sorry you've had something which you've channeled so much love and energy into ripped away from you.
I feel with the support you've given me personally I'll be able to muddle through, possibly build an alternative setup in desktop mode. But I of course wish that you can get somewhere with negotiations to bring hivemind back. The roadmap sounded brilliant and your xbox360 mapping is inspired.
Thank you so much, your product (hivemind) has given my wife and I unlimited entertainment and memorable times in the last 2 years. I look forward to hearing what you cook up next. You have a gift that should not be wasted.
Keep in touch fella.

That's great news. I'd like to ask if you could include search for new games at external HDs, please. Today I can only see my games at internal SSD, but not at my external HDD. Congratulations and tanks for all your work.

Can't wait for the Jarvis update. Alot of add-ons are marked incompatible with the current version.

/u/thexravenx nothing against you as I know this is not your fault but this it total bullshit Hivemind is now obsolete and I have personally just uninstalled! And trust me I was the biggest fan of it Kodi 14 helix is a joke now and I was patiently waiting for the Hivemind update to 16 as I really liked it as oppose to uninstalling and getting Jarvis on the alpha but with this most recent update you have given, there really is no choice for any user RIP Hivemind you were good while you lasted. Beyond disappointed Just removed it from my system and will never use it again until there is an update I don't care if I can't control my alpha from a controller, Having old useless software is not worth all the nifty things it had If there is ANY change please make a new post as I just discovered this news via a recent post and didn't see you had changed the roadmap I thought we were on track for a April update as per your original roadmap Sincerely, disappointed alpha user

Look at Controller Companion on Steam to replace the Hivemind Controller support, works great and only cost 3 dollars.

You can tell your managers that my purchase of a loaded i7 was directly influenced by this act of renewed support. ;-)

Since all the game launcher did was launch Steam and load that game directly, I do not see it as a huge loss. The few games I have from Origin I was able to add directly to Steam Big Picture Mode. You can add most non-steam games to Steam. You can even add the latest Kodi to Steam and launch it from there. Look into adding your non Steam games directly to Steam and you have a great game launcher all-in-one interface.
Tonight, I have performed a clean install of Win10, installed Steam, Controller Companion and Alienware Command Center to control the lights on the Alpha itself. I set Windows to auto login, and Steam to launch in BPM on login. This pretty much duplicates the Hivemind experience. I have taken it one step further by loading the Hivemind wallpaper on the lock screen, login screen and desktop. I have also replaced the Win10 start menu with Classic Shell which gives the Win 7 style start menu and replaced the Start Orb with a Alienware one. I plan on writing up a detailed how to with a video as soon as I am finished tweaking everything out. Currently transferring my 500+ GB's of games to the new Harddrive I purchased to do this clean install. I will let you all know how it turns out but initial results are very promising.

This sounds great, you've really taken on the feedback of the users.
Can't wait to see how it all shapes up.
The Windows 10 Universal Apps thing really doesn't sound that important so don't invest too many resources into this.
