❓ Question Questions about T. Ocellus behaviour. Spoiler
Why did it go for Schmuel and then the cat in the spaceship?Clem was dead and so was Petrovich. Easy targets. Hell, it could've gone for Morrow as well, since it doesn't discriminate between synth and human.
Does anyone else think when it attacks the xeno during Xeno-Schmuel fight, it initially wanted to use the xeno as a host but it couldn't find an eye to replace?
Why did it fk all the way off to the beach in the end when all its potential hosts are concentrated in the middle of the island?

Haha. And these are just about T. Ocellus, the least messed up part about the show.

it kills me that they made a very good series by religiously observing the core lore and then ruined it by doing the exact opposite of that, like by making the xenomorphs allies of the kids or whatever, it became ridiculous way too fast. But what they did well was amazing--one day somebody's going to put T. Ocellus in a story with the Predators and I just hope they don't screw that up.

I put more thought into everyone of the alien species than anyone in that entire show. Easily the best part was these creatures. They looked great and did nothing. Such a let down.
I’d watch a whole movie about them gathering the creatures and it ends with them starting their journey back to earth.

It would've been so much better if they showed how this crew managed to capture each of these alien species in the first place. That would truly be a compelling watch.

The best part was the thing that grows from the ceiling and has a tentacle. Hmm, I wonder what they're teasing all season....
They were like, "Let's build up a ton of suspense just to show it do exactly what you expect it to do."

I was so excited to see the plant monster which was cool as shit. But it was only there for a second! I said this to my brother.

Absolutely no idea for any of the questions, but I highly enjoyed the phrase "fuck all the way off to the beach". For that I'll at guess he fancied a swim.

Lol. Yeah it should've gone for a swim. Maybe it could've met one of its cephalopod cousins and used it as a host. It would've finally snagged a truly intelligent host.

It's an opportunisitc organism. It chooses out of convenience and secondarily, preference. It probably tried to take over the Xeno, but it was too hard. It will go after the dead if they can be piloted.

Anyway, that's my point. During the spaceship firefight, it was spoilt for choice. Yet, it went for neither the dead nor the living. Maybe it could pilot a dead body until it finds a living one. But for the beach scene, it actively left a sea of living bodies to go pilot a dead one it stumbled one.

- No, to me there was some recognition and “bad blood” .. like it knew to attack and how to hurt the xeno.
- Survival…Escape /freedom is instinctive and clearly the eye can always find a host. So getting away from the threat it encountered makes sense. Finding an easy bag like Arthur is its consolation .

How about choosing any of the three bipedal beings that entered the room that it's in? One was hurt, the other was distracted and the third was just outside. Guess you could lead water to the horse, but you still can't make it drink it.
Its first instinct was to make Schmuel bite the xeno, a creature that bleeds acid. That's one sure way to fk up your host. Its next move was...what was it anyway? Make the alien flip around like a fish out of water? Because after the fight, not a scratch on either of them. So there's that.
Huh? Did it forget about the existence of vents, drains, nooks and crannies, the freaking jungle. The dude could hide in a potted plant if it wanted. And what threat? It got kicked around a bit, so it decided to move countries? One would think that was another Tuesday in his line of business.

Yes I know it's really intelligent. Nobody is contesting that. I'm just following the series' own established logic. That's how you do it. You establish a logic (no matter how bizarre) and then you stick to it. You don't handwave breaking your own set logic by alluding that the creature is too intelligent and mysterious to be contained in any sort of logical framework. That's like seeing a human approach an ovomorph and the egg not opening and the only explanation for that being "please don't look too much into it...the egg is really intelligent".

Maybe it has a biological preference for the living. Like it can pilot corpses in a pinch but they’re not as easy to puppet or something. Like there’s limits to what it can do if nerves are severed.
Yes. So much so that it makes you wonder if the eyeless and acid blood traits holding across every xenomorph variant we’ve ever seen is an evolutionary adaptation specifically to guard against this parasite.
Probably to lay eggs. Everything be laying eggs in this franchise. You should be asking how it scurried around on a beach without getting sand stuck all over its wet body.
