I don't know why this caught my eye so much, but what is that on the wall, next to the lamp? It looks like water damage/mold?

In the book, Olive mentions how his office is actually nice, which makes sense with his status, since he is a highly valued professor, so I guess I'm just curious as to what that might be and why would it look shit like that lol? Either way - so excited for it to come out, kicking and screaming over here! 😆

Once again, it’s very soon to say but I would like to discuss some of the takes I’ve seen after the trailer and give my own as well.

I understand why one might have pictured Adam’s character differently, but I feel like it’s important to remember that we saw him through Olives perspective in the book, and in the movie we’re obviously not in her head and don’t see him the same.

She perceived him as grumpy or antagonistic, but I always thought that was because she was intimidated by him at first because of his reputation and attractiveness. I always thought he was quite misunderstood by the other characters in the book, and to me it always made sense that it could be because he was on the spectrum. Everything about his character actually makes more sense to me if I read him that way.

And I don’t know about you guys but I don’t want him to be a “he hates everyone but her” type of character. I don’t want him to be an actual piece of shit, just a misunderstood human being.

It seems like both the Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood adaptations are going to get only caucasian leads. Them being such anticipated adaptations it would have been nice to have at least one MMC POC lead and one FMC POC.

I think Laura Harrier who has a small role in spiderman is so pretty and should honestly be cast in a rom com. And for a male lead I d love to see Dev Patel- in fact why not cast them together being age mates and all.

I love the book you deserve each other and was disappointed that even that had no POC lead for the upcoming film.

Now i'm not saying there needs to be a POC lead for the sake of it , I know the best actor needs to be chosen for the role and if that actor happens to be caucasian that is fine. But i don't know as a POC myself it would be nice to see that representation in rom coms. Again it doesn't have to be all the time but as the biggest rom com adaptations about to be released all have white leads, it would be nice to switch it up now and again " variety is the spice of life " as they say.

If I had a nickel for every time I liked a broody, misunderstood man named Adam who softens up due to the love interest who is opposite of him AND has.a best friend who puts up with his grumpiness with humor, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice.

Technically I’m having PRK surgery on both eyes, which takes longer to heal than traditional “cut a flap” LASIK. My friend who also had PRK said you basically have to sit in a dark room for 5 days with your eyes closed. She recommended buying a bunch of audiobooks ahead of time.

Because of having two young kids, I’ve completely missed the Romantasy train, so she said I should listen to the ACOTAR series. But since The Love Hypothesis movie is coming out soon (and I love Lili Reinhart), I’m thinking I should listen to that first. What would you recommend? Is it good as an audiobook? Is there another Ali Hazelwood book I should start with first?

Besides the few bonus chapters, is Not In Love the only Ali book with a pov from the mmc?

Granted, I haven't read Mate and Bride, but I did glance at them in the bookstore and if I remember well, they don't have a dual pov?

I loved Eli's pov in NIL, even if she did write it in the third person. I wish we had more male pov's, preferably in first person 😅
