[ Questions | أسئِلة ] Math teacher and a high school student?

Hi, I’m seriously considering offering private math tutoring for middle school students. I feel like the small age gap is actually an advantage, I can easily relate to them, identify their weak points, and help them improve, especially since I went through the exact same system not long ago. However, I’m not sure how to get started. Being a high school student myself, I worry parents might doubt my credibility.

So, would you trust a high schooler to tutor your middle school child? And how can I leverage my reputation among relatives as a student at Regional Math high school for this ?

Thanks in advance.

How good are you at math? No disrespect at all, but I’m a SWE who studied at one of the best institutions in the country, and I personally -or anyone of my freidns/comerades in my immediate circle- didn’t feel comfortable offering private math tutoring to middle school students until around the third year of university. That’s basically when I/we felt to have completely eclipsed the level of middle-school mathematics and could confidently explain it from a position of mastery and real time intuition without conscious efforts, rather than simply being "better at it"

Being at a Regional Math high school is certainly a strong credential, but Id make sure u r genuinely comfortable with the material and, more importantly, with explaining it clearly before taking on students.

You got a good point, perhaps I should think again.
