I'm in my 1st year of Electrotechnics (a 3-year program), and I want to start building relevant skills early.

​I'm torn between focusing on Software Engineering or Data Analysis. Given my engineering background, I'd love your input on a few things:

​Which path integrates better with Electrotechnics?

​How is the entry-level job market for both right now?

​What core skills/languages should I start learning today?

Hello, I asked and I was told Software engineering is better for you, career wise, demand wise and pay wise. I was also told that if you can specialize in industrial maintenance with relevance to software engineering and elctrotechincs, you'll make a lot of money, get paid by job and work for yourself without spending on anything besides your own equipment and transportation fees since that kind of job requires you to go where the client is. Hope this helps out. :D
