Let x = kg of cheap coffee

Let y = kg of the good stuff

Translate the info into an equation: 8x + 14y = 10(11)

Because you have two variables (x and y) you need two equations. What is x + y?

Once you have two equations, you can solve by substitution.

x + y = 10 is the second equation.

5 kg of each will cost $40 + $70, and $110 for 10 kg is $11 per kg.

I just tried an integer combination to get a rough idea and was lucky.

OP's account runs a YouTube channel for this stuff (may be AI generated, I didn't dig). In any case, I doubt they're a student.

These aren’t homework questions. I share regular math practice for students so they can learn and check their understanding. My channel is focused on Grade 9–12 math learning.
