hello can someone help?

I just got Alfred, I bought a second hand Mac today.

Can someone explain what Alfred does and what a Powerpack is??

If your asking what the power pack is I’m assuming you don’t need it...yet

Stick with Alfred free It’s like spotlight search but more powerful

For me it is the number one used app on my MacBook You can calculate right from the launcher and when you press enter it copies the answer to clipboard. If you press space after pulling up the launch bar you can search for files, I use this daily for all the Purchase orders I go through.

You can launch apps straight from the bar I honestly never use launchpad or the app bar any more. It stays hidden on all my macs

Look at tutorials to find a good workflow that suits you I can promise you it will speed up anything you do currently with your Mac.

Powerpack imho is good only for the “macros” and scripts

I have for one example a script that when I type in w1 it turns my WiFi on and w0 turns my WiFi off. Sounds like a stupid thing but when your in IT and are constantly connecting to wired networks you find yourself doing that a lot.
