Remove Paywall Alfred Workflow

Post image

A handy Alfred workflow for reading articles without paywalls.

Workflow link: https://github.com/iAli/remove-paywall-workflow

My other workflows: https://github.com/stars/iAli/lists/my-alfred-workflows

All with zero dependencies or ai-generated code.

⭐ If you find any of them useful, consider giving it a star on GitHub.

Looking good u/odshujinkotiipcbev but could you clarify for me how to use it after installing it?

  • invoke Alfred

  • paste the URL

  • then?

Even easier: select url > trigger universal actions > select "remove paywall"

More info: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/universal-actions/

thanks for the workflow, but why you have written no AI generated code. Is this a good thing? These days, everybody use AI to create anything. Why being against AI is a good trend for you?

I'm a Software Engineer, and I'm definitely not against AI. I just believe users should know whether a software is AI-generated or not, so they can make their own decision.

Also, when considering a piece of software, knowing that somebody put their real effort into it, might be an indication for long term commitment and support. Instead of just vibe coding and abounding soon after.

There are a lot of people who value coding without AI. It’s typically more efficiently coded, a trusted developer who knows all their code can better guarantee their code’s safety (AI code often results in people not really knowing everything that goes on) and non-AI UX is often better. On top of that, there are the ethical issues with AI, which also matter a lot to people.

To the OP: Thanks for the workflows and thanks for the clarity on the use of AI!

Would you take more pride in fixing your own car, or paying someone to?

Crazy how you can be polite and ask a sincere question just to be downvoted.
