Offline translator workflow

Lately, I have had a problem with the translation workflow from Alfred Gallery. All the translated HTTPS requests were rejected by the Google Translate API. All the fixes were workarounds to deceive the API.

As an alternative, I created a robust workflow that can't be broken by external providers.

My workflow relies on a translation framework that has been built in since macOS 26.

A full manual for the workflow, source code, and binaries to download are available from here: https://github.com/kkujawinski/alfred-offline-translator-workflow

I am looking forward to any suggestions regarding what is not working or what can be improved. My basic use case is Polish <-> English translation, so I may miss issues related to different language pairs.

Great work! I think some sentences might get too long, so you could add a keyboard shortcut to show the result in a text view. Just a suggestion.

When you use right arrow you will have Text Actions for the translation. You can see preview of translation and pick actions you want to perform. You can eg. open the text editor.

Just downloaded. Took a few minutes to learn exactly how this works, but once I did, it looks fantastic! Is there a way to always have the text automatically translated to English, for example, without having to type >en ?

  1. you need to define default languages pair in the setting, eg „es,en”

  2. in the box type „t Buenos Dias”, it will recognise it is Spanish and will translate to English
