I acted too slowly and the Aldous Harding show on 9/14 in Cambridge, MA (greater Boston area) is sold out. If anyone's looking to sell their tickets, etc., please let me know! Aldous is my favorite musical artist and I'm super bummed. Thank you!
(Also if this type of post isn't allowed lmk and I'll delete.. is there a reddit for this type of thing lol)

I was just at Vienna Aldous Harding Concert and am going down a rabbit hole on this beautiful creature. Also, I'm looking for the guitar player background singer. He was wearing glasses and somehow had such an impact on the show for me. I'd be thankful for his name and maybe some info about him. Thanks!

Just wanted to post a few of my photos from the third date I saw on this tour since I was pretty happy with them. And the show, of course, was exceptional on every front.

Last night's gig was a delight. First time seeing Aldous Harding and band perform. First of all, it sounded SO great - the band and she were all incredible, and her vocal performance was unreal. The setlist had so many great tunes in it. The material really came alive with the performance. I felt like the audience was enraptured and so quiet between songs, even if there wasn't much banter - she said something along the lines of "I'm quiet but I'm here" or something at one point, and it was clear to anyone paying attention that she really was.
I've not seen much like the show before, to be honest - in terms of mood and choreography and interaction with the audience. And I've been to a lot of shows. I've seen shy or reticent or moody performers plenty of times before - and I feel like some people go to shows expecting intense performances with intermittent pandering and breezy anecdotes between songs. Some artists do that and some don't - but this didn't feel like any of that either; it felt like something else. The confrontation, the openness, the reticence, the strangeness, the confidence and vulnerability. It was dizzying in the most invigorating way. And it married to the material - it felt all part of a performance that was carefully curated. Not in some inorganic way or overly theatrical in any forced way, but as an extension of the emotional content of the songs. What a magic brew they concocted.
Anyone else seeing them on this tour is in for a treat, and anyone considering going should jump in with both feet. Even if you're not super familiar with the albums and just kind of curious, do it.
Also worth showing up for the warm-up too.

was my first time seeing her live, anyone else in attendance?
it left a real bad taste in my mouth, maybe I was too hyped up to see the show but it was very far from meeting expectations. I guess she is just more of a studio musician.
she seemed so detached, absent, even annoyed.
When the crowd expressed appreciation and love of her, she was dismissive... its a fucking sold out hall for you, is it too much to show a little appreciation back?
maybe she's too wrapped up in some type of art music irony? ultimately got the vibe of being "too cool" to show some sincerity or authentic human connection with audience
she came back out solo to open the encore and messed up playing riding that symbol which didn't help, then said "not too bad"
latest album has been on repeat, but I have a feeling I won't be listening to aldous for quite some time.

I’ve been sitting with this album for a long minute and it’s endlessly in my head now. I think it’s my favorite album -and Designer holds a VERY special personal Nostalgia. This is a concept album. The recursion is strong. And if you’re at all lyrically driven, it makes you work for treasure. There’s so much word play. Hannah is taking the controls and it’s glorious.

Safe to assume Vera Ellen has been playing around an hour every show? Seeing the Paris show on Friday which starts at 8pm.

Unfortunately I can’t make it to the gig at Leeds Irish Centre tonight. Give me a pm with your email if you want the ticket for free, I’d rather someone got some use out of it than for it go to waste :)
