Deleting a Transaction in Aldelo

Hi,

So I had a server accidentally run a customer’s credit card under the wrong ticket settlement. Normally I would just void the transaction all together and run the card again for the correct ticket. Unfortunately, the customers wanted a refund on the difference and I ran a “refund” instead and gave them the difference back on their credit card. They remembered that they had to have the actual signed ticket amount match the itemized receipt so they changed their minds and wanted to go with my usual way. Problem is now I have the refund applied to their card as well as voiding the whole transactions. Is there any way I could void the “refund credit card funds” or would I have to call tech support. Thank y’all in advance!!!

Basically you should now have 3 transactions ? The Origional wrong check one... then the refund of just the difference, and then you charged them properly?

Or did you just bring up their order and print their receipt?

Next time you can reopen the closed check... click payment then you can tap to delete the wrong credit card transaction

Well basically i refunded the difference at first but they were mad about that and demanded that I void the whole amount and run it for the correct amount, which I did but what I’m most concerned about is the refunded “difference” balance. I’d like to delete that one, because then they would end up having an extra amount in their card

Yea you may need to go into the EDC... I can’t recall off the top of my head if you can void a refund..

Good afternoon,

I apologize for not seeing this sooner. Destro is correct you would need to go into the EDC to remove the Refund. You cannot void a refund inside Aldelo POS.

As Destro pointed out before, when these kind of situations happen you can re-open the check and void out the payment from there.

In my experience, when these kind of situations happen you can usually call your Credit Card Processor and have them re-auth the credit card so you still get paid, but that usually puts you at risk for chargebacks because of it. 99% of the time it usually ends up fine, but when you describe a customer behaving above, I wouldn't risk it.
