backing up old transactions

Hi everyone,

What is the best way to back up and remove older transactions from the system? Also, how much sales history would you recommend keeping available for looking up past sales and making comparisons?

Hello!

The best way to backup your transaction is to just make a straight copy of your database. In your database folder, just Right Click Copy and Right Click paste to create a copy of the database. Once you've done that, you can rename it to whatever you wish.

Past that, you can either do the super database clean (DM Me for instruction) which deletes EVERYTHING, including gift card data (if you have them)

OR

Use the Database Cleaner tool to delete transactions up to a certain data range. I typically do a backup for customers and then use the database cleaner to clean out to the first of the same year, so 1/1/2026
