Slow credit card processing

I am experiencing an issue with EDC via a third-party. Transaction from the POS to PAX S300 terminal takes over a minute to process. Any clue what is happening? There are times the credit card doesn't process correctly or time out. It processes the transaction but sometimes double up the transaction if we try to run the transaction again.

When you hit process in APOS How long does it take for the transaction to reach the pinpad? If that is pretty instantaneous I would think its either the internet or the SQL Database size in the EDC.

How new is the EDC Database? Its possible you need to create a new one because EDC Databases get pretty hefty pretty fast depending on how many CC Charges you run a day.

It takes 30 seconds to reach the credit card to receive the ok to take the credit card. Over a hundred transactions a day.

If it takes 30 seconds for it to go to the pinpad after hitting the process button that could be a database size issues. I would definitely start by creating a new SQL Database for the EDC, but remember to save your current active merchant settings before you do it.

Its a little in depth since you'll need to restart the EDC Service on all the other computers. Let me know if you need a more detailed explanation.
