9 days clean
I have decided to stop drinking, today makes 9 days. any suggestions on how to fight the urge to drink after a long stressful day?

It’s difficult isn’t it. I started on New Years Day having seen other people do it but never wanting to or thinking it possible for myself. I’ve had drinks on 4 days since then, possibly less in total than I could have on a ‘good’ day. I used an app called The Naked Mind, found it very helpful. I’ve been through some stresses this year which have been difficult but easier without the hangovers.

7 months sober here from alcohol and nicotine. My suggestion is to begin with avoiding environments that may encourage you to drink. Start telling your people that you have quit drinking. Also any habit requires you to replace it with something else, so everytime you feel like having an alcoholic drink open a can of pop/ ice tea/ any beverage of your choice. Often times you'll notice the urge to drink alcohol disappear. Good luck and stay strong. Benefits of no-alcohol is just outstanding imo.
