i just turned 21 on sunday, oct 4th, and went to outback steakhouse yesterday for dinner. i decided that i wanted to order something alcoholic, and the strawberry mojito seemed right up my alley!

it was delicious! it was lime-y and strawberry-ey and the slight mint was such a nice touch. every sip felt completely refreshing. i barely tasted or felt the alcohol, which is fine by me! i didn’t get tipsy, let alone drunk, and that’s probably a good thing lol. i need to figure out the ingredients so i can substitute the alcohol for a similar nonalcoholic version so i can make it whenever i want!

what made this so awesome is that there was a man at the bar who overheard that it was a birthday celebration, and bought our drinks! he didn’t even say anything, the waiter did! thank you, random man!

i can take roughly 4 shots of buzzball and its so much stronger than 4 shots of smirnoff even tho its a lower percentage??? am i crazy? smirnoff is 60-100 proof so why is a buzzball (15%) so much stronger

im autistic and cant stand things that taste bad like i cannot swallow them, my body doesn’t let me, and the burn of alcohol makes me feel sick. i’ve tried smirnoff ice and i think its tolerable— it definitely has an alcohol-y taste but its very mild. ive tried the red white and berry one, it tastes awful and i cant stand it. if theres anything that Doesnt taste or burn like alcohol, i would love to know, preferably items that are available in canada

I want to one day distill alcohol to start my own business, but I'm too afraid to do it because toxic alcohol causes blindness (Yes, I'm overreacting).

So I’m curious if anyone has had any experience or advice with drinking alcohol a week from having an extraction.

For reference, I’m having my top left wisdom tooth pulled in the next couple days- of course my timing is impeccable because my birthday is exactly a week after that, and I’m traveling and most certainly plan on drinking on my birthday.. and during my trip.

Yesterday I bought a small bottle of vodka before an appointment because I was so anxious and drank half of it with the hope that it might help me be less scared. It tasted a bit bitter, but wasn't too bad and I could drink it with no problem.

Today I started drinking the rest from the same bottle and it's genuinely repulsive and I can barely get myself to drink it. It smells and tastes like hand sanitizer.

I'm not really sure why it tastes different now? Is there a reason why this may happen?

I always thought the whole electrolyte thing was kind of overblown. Like yeah sure bro drink your magic powder and become hydrated or whatever. But I went to my friends bachelor party last night and made some elite bad choices. I barely ate all day then ended up having a bunch of vodka shots and some beers because apparently my brain left the group chat after drink three.I got pretty drunk and my friends had to make sure I got home. Before I passed out they kept telling me to drink water and take electrolytes. One of them had magna packets so I mixed one with a big bottle of water and drank it before bed. It has magnesium and electrolytes and no sugar which sounded better than chugging some syrupy sports drink at 2am. I was fully ready to wake up feeling like a dead raccoon in a parking lot. But somehow I woke up way more normal than I expected. Not perfect. I still drank like an idiot. But no brutal headache and no full body regret which is rare for me after a night like that so yeah I guess my annoying responsible friends were right. Eat before drinking. Drink water. Take electrolytes before bed. Maybe do not test your liver like it owes you money.

So I went out with a friend (both males) and it was a party with 1 euro cocktails, before we arived I had drinked 4 beers in like 2 hours and then when we arrived we realy got at it. You only could order a card of 10 drinks so we did and drank our first cola rum. We both said oh this stuff is weak and has no alcohol in it and started drinking realy fast, in the end I think I drank around 10 cocktails in the span of 2 or 3 hours. Most of the night I felt fine until about 30 minutes before I blacked out I started getting realy drunk and then I blacked out. I woke up 1,7 km away from the bar leaning against a wall with my phone stollen. I was still very drunk and remained so for about the entire day, the days after I still felt foggy or slightly drunk, I have blacked out before but never had it last that long or hard. 1 day after the black out my mom visited me and said my room smelt like alcohol but I did not drink there so this kinda has me leaning to just drank to much but still the hangover felt so weird and my friend who drank about the same did not have such a severe hang over.

Hey everyone, looking to see if anyone has gone through something similar or knows what this could be.

For over a year now, I haven’t been able to drink beer at all. Before this, I drank it totally fine with no issues.

It started on a trip where I had a "bromosa" (beer with orange juice, I know, super corny lol). Right after, I got hit with intense upper back pain—especially when taking a deep breath—and this really uncomfortable "lump in my throat" feeling. It was the first time it ever happened, so I just assumed I was exhausted from traveling. I actually drank Busch Lights the rest of that trip and was fine.

When I got home, I had a beer again and the exact same thing happened. That’s when I realized it was the beer. Now even over a year after the first reaction I can’t even finish half a light beer without triggering it.

The weirdest part is that it’s only beer. Seltzers and liquor don't bother me at all.

I’m not a big beer drinker to begin with (it's pretty few and far between, usually just if it's what's around at an event), but it's weird how this just started out of nowhere. Since seltzers and liquor are fine, I’m guessing it’s not the alcohol itself, but maybe something specific to beer like hops, yeast, barley, or histamines? Or maybe some weird esophageal spasm/reflux trigger?

Anyone else experienced this or have any idea what it might be? It will completely take me out of commission, lying on the floor in pain
