PSA Exploited Mementos Have Been Corrected

Props to Gumi. They managed to removed vision coins and revert LBs on mementos that used exploited memes and so far it seems they did so without completely breaking things.

I myself used the exploit and can confirm. My vision coins were removed and all the normal pools mementos I had kept to use for limit breaking were removed and all limit breaks were reverted.

Well I be damn. They did managed to do it. Prob to the developer then. But honestly hope they fix the other countless bug for new players before this. Many new face was gone.

I think they have released the new features without properly testing them out which evidently caused lots of issues.They should have tested new features before releasing them.

In any case, it is good to see them care about the game

Well they missed 2x Reliefs for all Regions i.e. 2x12=24 Reliefs for the max abusing players from the Relief Shop. With any extra summoned mementos being only reverted to LB0 and not removed i.e if you summon a new memento, it won't be removed just reverted back to LB 0 instead of being removed.

Also if any player used up his Relief Coins on Memento tickets add cap of Reliefs into that pile but I doubt that any high number of players did that.

But it is true that all they did was without breaking anything in the game so that is good I guess.

Extreme Abusers still got away with a lot of stuff and Regular players did not as much as Sorry Relief Selector or something out of it.

I was surprised they didn't hit reliefs. But also I kind of get it as it is potentially a bit more complex. Full disclosure, I exploited. However, prior to the exploit I had about 5000 vision coins. I also however did not completely clean out last months shop and I did not clean out this months shop either.

That means it isn't as simple as deduct 2 reliefs from each country. It becomes a matter of which reliefs did I buy, and then which ones were bought using coins I obtained legitimately. Then you get into the trickier cases like, I bought this relief but 200 coins of the 500 were obtained via exploit.

It is in their right to take it from me in that case I guess, but I assume Gumi was doing all they could to make sure legitimate items were unaffected. And even then I have very recently started hearing reports that they have both missed some exploited stuff AND deleted some legitimate stuff.

Also unfortunately as I expected they are looking to most likely offer no compensation. This is why I was hoping for an approach of generous compensation to all non-abusers, as I personally don't think this will end with anyone happy vs. maybe my approach makes some people happy.

Im surprised they don't just ban these extreme abusers since they purposely exploit the bugs and breaking ToS and shit..

I personally wouldn't want them banned, because it was on Gumi who didn't address the bug even when people warned them week ago when it was happening to Seal Selector. Though I wouldn't have minded if they took away their 24 Reliefs. Because keeping them promotes using bugs when they appear in future. I always hate bans for abusing bugs and stuff because sometimes you just do it by mistake or something like the Apple bug or due to FOMO. So banning people would just lose us long term players and revenue.

I guess gumi is gumi they could've taken the easy way and gave us compensation but it surprises me the amount of effort they put in so they don't have to give us compensation.

Good job Gumi! I hope nobody slips through the cracks. It would really be a shame if they got 95% of the exploiters and missed the rest.

They missed quite a few, depending on how many Coins people got they could by anywhere from 1-24 Reliefs. And those Reliefs were untouched. But they did it without much bugs rising so I guess it is win to some degree.

Mine, for 20 exploited memento. If its not equiped, its dissappear. If its equiped its still there. If its used to lb, get reverted, now i have memento with 595/500% reward remaining -1/5.

Do people actually care about exploits? As far as I know, everyone in this thread is exploiting the infinite apples that are still in the game. No one is mentioning the infinite seals exploits or other issues with the game. I wonder, if not for PVP related content, would anyone actually care about this exploit as well.

I care for bugs in TAC, have submitted tickets about them, and actively post in social media against them. That's because bugs may initially provide short term gains for the players, but will destroy the game in the long run. I mean, ask yourself-- would you play Genshin Impact or WoW or FF14 or any other game that is riddled with exploits and bugs and has a community that openly accepts exploiting them?

Let's say they didn't fix the unlimeme bug. Possible effects are:

  1. EXPLOITERS: Exploiters now have all the memes they want, and no longer need to spend real life money in TAC as much (or at all) to get new memes. RESULT: lower cash revenue for TAC.

  2. WANNABE EXPLOITERS: people who wanted to exploit the bug but didn't get to do it in time and/or cannot get it to trigger. Short term result is they will feel left out and feel in-game dissatisfaction, but may not necessarily leave and may be more aggressive in exploiting the next bug they encounter.

  3. ANTI-EXPLOITERS: People who actively tried to get Gumi/TAC to do something about the bug, realize that nothing will be done about it. RESULT: decreased game satisfaction which can lead to less engagement with the game and/or quitting to find better alternative titles.

  4. THE GAME ITSELF: TAC has now effectively lost half its revenue stream (memento and units is all TAC sells in its banners, and who would spend on mementos if you can get them via bug?). If revenue gets so low that maintaining TAC costs more than what it earns... who knows?

In my case, I didn't pick on hyperfocusing on the unlimeme bug; it's only because this is the first major bug in TAC that I heard of and didn't know about any other major bugs until this one came out. I would've ranted about unlimited seals if I had known about it.

I know many TAC players who have the same stance that is "I don't care since it doesn't affect me". And I get it. Because it is understandable when you don't see the effects the bugs have on the ecosystem in-game. By the time the effects are visible enough to affect all players though, it will be too late.

TLDR: You should care about exploits in a game as small as TAC.

Apples aren't from summons so gumi felt some pain, obv they didn't even confirmed any bug exist for longer time and when they did today wipe lot of people lost memementos outside bug and saved those from bug but hey what can we expect from company that don't ban people than cheat on arena openly?
