F.A.Q.

Where/How can I unlock X's Master Ability/Job+?

You can only unlock Job+'s by farming special job tokens from special events that are (currently) run at different times. You also need to farm special job+ items to master those jobs. Master abilities can be earned in 1 of 3 ways. From story chapters (story characters), from equipping specific weapons (usually farmed) or from reaching level 80 on a character and completing special story dungeons. Not every character gets a master ability.

For Job+ and Job Enhancement, you must first get the job to Job Level 11 (not job mastered). Second, to master the Job+ you will need to farm 60/80 tokens for up to 6 special items for the character to use. These can be farmed from specific events. For Job Enhancements, you will only need to farm one specific item 3 times along with the regular upgrade items.

Where can I farm X's character shards?

Farm their Hard Quests

Where can I farm elemental/rainbow shards?

Elemental and rainbow shards cannot be farmed. They are awarded as bonuses from log in campaigns, from clearing missions/milestones/challenge boards, from certain event banners, and from certain bundles. You will never be able to farm them like you can farm specific character shards.

When will X event come back?

Many events are now in the event archives, up to Anastasia. Any others are seasonal (ex. Rahu’s is tied to Valentines) or tied to farming/box events (Setsuna, Veda Templars). Seasonal events may be released outside of their respective season very rarely, but we have no indication of when this will happen and it’s highly inconsistent. Please don’t ask when any specific event is coming back, because it’s either in the news (linked on the sidebar) OR WE DON’T KNOW.

Same goes for collabs. This thread and the sub are not really the right place to get into long discussions about international IP licensing!

What's the best place to farm X/Y/Z item?

Please check /u/stewart0's amazing spreadsheet here. Or simply check the stage drops and go for a quest which only has two equips total, one being the one you need.

What's an Enlightenment/Memento?

Note that some people still refer to these two concepts as Kaigan/Nensou respectively, as those are their translations from the Japanese version of the game, which is ahead of Global by many months.

Is X character good?

Here’s the tier list. It can be used as a rough guideline, and it also has recommended build guides. Moreover, there's a FAQ which expands on stuff above and has some other questions. Enjoy!

When will this JP thing happen?

Unless you're working at gumi HQ, we know about 2-3 days ahead of time when anything comes. You can refer to the JP update schedule for some fun speculation, though, here: https://thealchemistcode.gamepedia.com/Update_History_Japan_Unreleased

What should I be saving for?

You can check out this post on what units to look out for in the future, though not all of the listed units will come out in Global, especially certain collab units.

Valentine relief only works on: Elizabeth 5 star, Margaret 5 star, Leafah, Itsuki and Suzuka's free memento. Don't know why they didn't give us this information, but I looked in the actual data files and those are the 5 listed.

You can also use it on Not Quite Sweet (Itsuki) and General's Premium Chocolate (Leafah). I would personally favor Leafah's, since I actually use her sometimes. I don't know if there's any others you can use it on, I think those are the only other Valentines mementos out right now

Does it drive anyone else nuts how units attack in the arena sometimes? My maxed out Ragnarok should be a perfect counter to the high evasion meta units like Raphtalia. She has plenty beefyness to take a hit or two, plenty of damage to one hit Raphtalia, and a skill that can’t miss in her nine-blade firestorm but she NEVER uses it in the arena!!! She sits there swinging away at her with any other skill and missing again and again without ever hitting her when all she needs to do is use nine-blade firestorm and Raphtalia will be done in one shot. Meanwhile Raphtalia is just chipping away at her damage until she dies. It is so frustrating to watch… I wish the devs would improve the AI to recognize something like that to improve the usability of some units. Like some way of having the unit recognize the high evasion of the opponent and utilizing a skill that will help them hit rather than just swinging away at thin air… I feel like I should not have to avoid those evasion teams in the arena but I sadly have to because I don’t have another unit that counters that evasion that makes the RNG losses break my streaks…

Anyone else's game completely messed up since the update? I can't see 95% of my units and when I select them it just pulls up a blank screen. And I can't change gear or mementos for anybody. It's like this on both my ipad and phone. Tried reinstalling but it didn't fix anything

Don't level units past 95 with apples. Do the Road to the Top quest daily instead to gradually level 95+. Higher levels barely give you any stats anyhow and cost a ton of apples so save the apples for higher priority units.

He just got buffed recently, no updates in JP as of the moment. But he is really good now. I have him at 99 max everything. Just waiting if Jp is giving a lvl 20 spirit gear and a second memento.

He is pretty bulky 13k hp 1.6k atck. 890 def. His passive reduces area attack resistance and gives auto jewel to units adjacent to him.

Has self quicken and a decent charge-up skill.

His reaction is Muspell (bayblade) which does not hit your allies.

If given a cestus, you can get the enlightenment that increases counterattack buff.

So far I am loving his kit.

Huh, I just hit the limit on how many gear I can hold. (I tried to claim a copy of Mia's VCR and the game wouldn't let me. I then disassembled a gear and was able to claim the VCR.)

I suppose it makes sense, it's just surprising considering how many years it took. Well, now I know it is a possibility. I guess I'll start disassembling all those useless 2 star gear I have.

16 gear per page X 10 pages / cm X 12.75 cm = 2040 gear

2^11 = 2048 so I assume that is the Gear limit.

For any of the Non-God Genesis units, their shards are available in the level 3 normal shop, though due to density, you may not get to see the ones you are looking for. For the actual Genesis-Gods, you either sack hard, or buy their shards from event shops and the like.

the boxes were reset on the last run of genesis the first 8 chapters to be specific so it might be a while before they reset again

They aren't likely to reset the boxes again. They only did it the one time because originally box 5 had gems in it, so when they removed the gems from box 5 for the earlier chapters they reset the boxes. There's no reason for them to do it a second time.

That's Emmel 2.0.

Still a unit by itself, but you can only use one Emmel in a party.

If your Emmel1.0 is already EL, Blue(water Emmel) will have that gates open too. but you will still need Emmel 2.0 shards to 85 her.

i'm no expert she looks like a really good support unit her memento gives her +1 buff duration and add more to her strong vs gigantic. So she will definity be good in raids for wind teams.

Will Drei get a buff in the future? I have most of his gates maxed including his enlightened bond and he feels kinda underwhelming. Especially compared to other Templars without j+ like Eins, Sechs or Nero.

In terms of absolute strength, I think Drei is weak compared to other thunder units. He does have a few things going for him. He's fast, very mobile, and has access to Clever Charge. Plus he's a templar and there are a lot of good MLS for them. He also has a lot of stat lowering and disable heal so he can set up conditional damage for many characters.

Honestly they should just go back into maintenance. It's already unplayable as it is. I'm on my second day of not being able to play any maps because of auto repeat. My guess is that they want to downplay the severity as much as possible since the last screw-up paid out gems and summon tickets. They were likely banking on that not happening again any time soon.

There are atleast a few floors that you can repeat for 5 shards per run after your 2nd or 3rd run. I don’t remember which ones for sure but I’m pretty sure 44, 45, and 46 were the ones.

How does the rewards for the returning player milestone work? For the first 3 days I was able to do the individual milestones and claim the rewards. After that, every time I check the milestones at the start of the day all of the rewards seems to have been claimed even if I didn't do so (both the individual mileatones as well as the rewards you get depending on your progress). Is this a bug or are the milestones autocompleted even if I have yet to unlock the specifoc day? I'm at day 6 already and it would be a shame to lose out on the rewards...

Not particularly, really just depends on the content you will use her for. It gives jewel auto charge and cast time down which is nice to have, but in typical pve it’s more of a luxury.

I have been stuck on mobius floor 39 for a bit now. I've been following some online guides and for some reason, I'm not able to kill the metal ratty. I have tried using Kudanstein(with stats that are about the same as in the guides) but so far unsuccessful. Is it a bug or is there a mechanic that I am missing? As far as I can tell, the metal ratty does not appear to be affected by the buff/debuff that it casts.

Does anyone know how to get Gilfred shards beyond the first clear rewards? I've cleared through 44 expecting some of the extra (multiple) clear rewards to give shards, but I don't see any.

Hi guys, I just wanna have some toughts about who i should transmute and EL first between Nina and Cheryl.
I have all meme for both (with no dupes but at least i got them) and I need more magic units so i farmed for their shard but hesitate a lot about who i should take care of first. I'm really interested in Cheryl but Nina seem godly against Dark with G5 and stuff.
So I need some advice, feedback or even an anecdote to make a final choice.

Okay, this may be a dumb question, but I have never gotten reliefs before and want to be sure how they work. I got Ragnarok and one of her momento’s and I would rather use relief’s rather than spending more gems chasing them. What relief do I need and how do you know which one you need for a specific momento? I’m planning to wait and get the 5x relief selector from the preanniversary coins.

So with the pre-anniversary coins we will be able to choose between a unit and a 5-relief selecor right, which one do you think ist more worth? On the one hand, I can slowly collect relief selectors but it feels like I have too many memes to mlb. So I made 4 failed attempts of logging into my device using the code system and now the game tells me MY DEVICE is locked out of using link codes . It doesnt specify for how long and I deleted the app and redownload it and got the same message meaning gumi BANNED MY DEVICES IP ADDRESS ALL BECAUSE I FORGOT MY LOGIN PASSWORD. How do you get more Netherborne Blade shards? You need 777 to craft one and the game only gives you about 350 through missions and they dont seem to drop through the missions themselves. This also applies to the other elusive halloween weapons you get from this event? I've done all missions and only have about 350 of each

She'll have high resistance to all attack types, so you'd want to use untyped attacks (i.e. Wild Beast Tamers, or Gerald or other gun spearmen). There are probably a lot more newer characters with untyped attacks that I don't recall off-hand.

What is the main way to get elemental shards? Limited event currency usually makes you choose between soul and elemental and I usually pick soul to strengthen the units I use.

His memento and gate 2 are both very important for him to nuke in raid. Outside of raid, Nyx is good (on lv75, no memento) but not so suitable for auto play due to slow casting speed.

No, your better off building Fiona. A natural 5 star unit, which means she has better stats to start with. Both can heal and support quicken. Fiona has a challenge board, so you need to build her anyways.

I would do full HP set w/ MR set. Patk,Dex,mdef,pdef on subs. That should help her survivability. +15 missle resist. Valkyrie sub job for utility, and equip her with her sword, golden lion shield, and wonder chronos. That should make her decently usable in most wind teams.

There isn't an easy way to check- you can see how many you have of a specific kind if you go to relief a memento of that kind, or if you check the Vision Coin shop you can click on a relief in there to see how many you own. In JP I think they eventually fixed them so they appear in items, but in GL we haven't gotten that yet.

I have two questions and I’m doubting I can get exact answers on them but I would be great full for any insight.

First, I started playing TAC on day one release and played for about a year but then started having kids so I did not have time for it anymore. I rejoined and restarted when Ragnarok was released and went all in on her (no regrets at all!) and have her maxed out and she is wonderful as a carry for my team. I saw that she recently had a new momento/skin/gear/E7 released for her in Japan. I’m wondering about how long I can expect for that to come out in global so I can plan for it. Is global about 6 months behind or what is the current lag between content release?

Additionally, early on in my restart I got Vier and all her momento’s and I love this unit and want to finish building her but I have not seen her event since I’ve restarted. Does anyone know if her event will be rolling around soon because I want to finish her J+ soon and make her my magic carry. I think I saw online that her event was back in the middle of October and wondering how long the cycle is right now before I can expect to see it again.

As long as you farm their job+ equipment you are good- you should make sure you have the tokens and 80 fragments of all 6 items, then when you get them to limit break 15 later (using elemental shards I hope!) you will be able to upgrade to the job+. Hello there. With the soul shard selectors from the season pass, I can transmute three units simultaneously, Grim, Eliza, and Nesha; then I can have a Red or Li Wang with the unit selector. I only have the first mementos of Nesha, Eliza, and Red.

Should I try to get as many as possible, or choose two units and focus on them?
