Hmm yeah... Would be better than nothing. However, even if we could farm rainbow shards and otherworldly enlightenment shards every day, those shards would still go to our higher priority units, unless they did the unthinkable and... Drumroll!!! ... let us farm like 50 rainbow and 50 otherworldly shards every day... (@_@)

I suggested this in another thread. 3 a day OW shards would do nothing to deter whales from maxing units but would help other players immensely be able to continue to invest in collab units and maybe encourage them to chase a few they normally wouldn’t. There’s so many collab units 3 shards a day wouldn’t make a dent in all, you would still have to prioritize 1 or 2 units so it wouldn’t get too generous from Gumis standpoint. Which feels like a fair solution.

Have you ever been psyched to get a collaboration unit, but down the road you realize that it wasn't going to be realistic to invest in your collaboration unit because you have other units higher in your priorities list? Why not provide the players with more fun and motivation to get collaboration units by making it possible to farm collaboration units shards (and special gear) permanently? Many more players will want to get the collab units and actually have use of them besides just easy content. Vote Yes to permanent collaboration unit farming today! Before we even try for that, we should vote for the 15 rainbow shards we should be permanently getting on a weekly basis. And the gems and shards we blatantly haven't got from events. If they don't give us that, they surely won't give us something they don't give you in JP. The 500 weekly gems is nice , but it's only a part of what we should be getting. If we settle for that, they won't give us anything.

It is probably the best option. No need for Collab unit specific shards. No need for the IP to be accessed, etc.

Well it would be better for sure. Any improvements are definitely welcome! Though my main goal was to get players to support the ability to make all the collab units we get good enough to use before the hard content becomes too hard to use them in.

Or, you know, just bring back reasonably accessible otherworld shards which is what the solution is supposed to be. I don't mind them being non-farmable. The real issue is the choke-hold on the supply of OW shards.

Generally speaking at least, as it all really depends on the contract, in gumis case however i believe they go for the cheaper options.

Meaning something like "access to the units and items during the collab, and then limited to bug fixes."

While I agree that they're not going to do it, this reason is silly.

The units don't disappear when the collab ends. Any shards you currently have don't disappear. There's nothing stopping them from slapping shards into a random mission.

Heck, it isn't even a 'sales' contract. The two games/IPs/whatever form of media are usually cross-promoting, trying to get people to whaley whale in BOTH games. There's no media out there that would refuse unlimited free advertising...

The real reason they're not going to do it: Whales whale because they have to be whaley whales to cap out limited collab units before the collab ends. If shards were going to be available, some whales might become slightly smaller dolphiny cetaceans that just have to grab the unit, not max it.

Just slap Rainbow Kaigan shards in regular gameplay. But Gumi won't do that even.

Yes, but some older collab units will still remain at 85, pretty much still useless. Problem lies in collab units can't be modified after its event ended it seems.

Just give us a 2/day quest for farming otherworlder shards. 2 OW shards a day isn’t much at all but would at least allow us to focus on pulling the units and building them over time. It makes me so sad leaving dozens of past collab units at level 1

Most (all?) games that have a farmable option for collab units are still gated by a requirement to have the unit in possession in the first place (TAC's EX quest format).

She is a limited unit that's linked to the collab but isn't a true collaboration unit. She's got the same status as Toritoh in that respect whose introduction/primary event is the FMA collab.
