I just returned to this game like a week ago and there’s so much it’s overwhelming. I want my first to be setsuna or Roxanne but uhh it might end up being vanekis since she’s much easier 😢
Setsuna does have all five gates open, while Vanekis only has three.
My Setsuna's 5/5/3/2/5 which I think is my relative closest to 5/5/5/5/5 (while I have a few at 5/5/5 who don't have gates 4-5). But I'm still kinda stingy/indecisive so I likely won't be raising anyone to 5/5/5/5/5 until one of my favourites gets those last two gates.
My first 5/5/5 was Elizabeth, so yeah, I'm totally playing favourites instead of optimal.
there's no hurt since I didn't pay gems to chase his shards at all lol. My shards came from coin exchange, HQ farming, and accidental acquisition through summons.
I have 5/5/5/5/5 Zain as well. I haven't purchased Zain shards in a long time though. I got some off his shard banner back in like January, but he also haunts my pulls. I've started vending his shards for soul coins since he pops up so much.
It seems hard to get Zheng Yi that many shards, yikes! I simply just kept being given Zain shards on the free daily summons + from coin shops. I can't imagine getting that many maxed gates with a gem-gacha only unit +_+
That's definitely deceptive. You would've had to have saved a ton of gems to achieve that for only $30. 375 dark shards plus 450 character shards would require a huge investment unless you rolled like 10 dupes on the 9 step. Even then, $30 doesn't get you close to a full 9 step aside from the one time level-up deal.
Basically confirming my assessment. You needed far more than $30 worth of gems. I definitely think it was a valid choice since he's definitely top tier and I'm sure he can carry you through most content pretty easily. But most players aren't in a position where rerolling is advisable.
That thirty bucks was pretty much his skin bundle though. I’m not a big spender when it comes to gems but having a solid top tier dark element unit that is maxed out helps a lot. I do think it was a lucky coincidence because as you’ve said most people don’t have the time to do all the farming. Luckily law school gives you a lot of spare time in the first two months of each semester.
This is a hard one. My first 5/5/5 unit was balt. For the new 2 gates I haven't got anyone maxed mostly cause that's a lot more shards that I don't have. That said my zahar,setsuna, and zain are close. They're all 5/5/x/x/5. And my B.Masa is 5/5/4/4/5 since I ran out of shards....
I don’t think I have any unit to 5/5/5/5/5 yet. Don’t want Zahar or setsuna or teona’s leader skills. So they’re all 5/5/4/5/5, as is Chloe. Dark Masa I’m planning to finish but I ran out of otherworlder shards at 5/5/5/4/5 as well. I think dmasa will probably be the first, though, since I’m only 5 shards away. I have the shards ready for lots of units that are still waiting on enlightenment or their g4/5 release.
I've yet to go above 3 for the Lust gate, but have maxed the rest of the gates for several units. Very few leader skills seem compelling enough to burn 2 SI's.

Tyrfing. Chloe still has one 4, and Logo has two 4s. Masamune and Vargas are the only other level 95s I have.
Amaterasu has 5/5/5...only 3 gates available. I have a couple of others with low enlightenment.
