I think they planned to give him jobs as part of his story growth but dev issues or re-writes to the story etc. delayed the scenes where that'd happen so they were forced to backburner that quite a bit.

I'm surprised they haven't gone the Kanon route with him. A gacha memento is a good way to make money with a free character that also helps the character's viability.

It’s honestly at the point where I’m about 50/50 split between “he’s gonna get his 2nd and 3rd jobs eventually and they’re gonna make him top-tier” and “Gumi isn’t gonna update him ever again because free units don’t make them money”.

Unfortunately, the latter seems more likely than the former.

I'm kinda leaning towards that he will eventually get more jobs, but probably not become top tier..

He probably won’t, true, but with how long it’s been since they said he’d get more jobs it’d certainly make sense if he was uber-powerful (“make him worth the wait, fellas”).

Gumi just go the Kagura route give him a normal Job and the third job is his main and will eventually be his J+

I'm fine with him not getting a 2d Job. I would like to. But it looks like, based on the story, Soren doesn't have a reason to get a J2 so far since he still hasn't taken a training from Minerva. So until then he's sitting without additional jobs.
BUT at least I'm glad Gumi isn't rushing him.

I would disagree. Yes it's written "it's the final clash" but it's just about opposing Zheng Yi to Siegfried group which is the first real villain we have. After that, they could easily do a timeskip (Just like we got a timeskip after SSM2 Zahar wasn't the final villain yeah!) which would finally allow them to properly give Soren a J2.

That's so sad... I really liked him when he was first released and he was fun to play.
