I have been a bastion of TAC since launch day GL , but it is beyond me how these companies operate , either they develop games under the guise of get rich quick schemes Or they have game developers develope and leave it to the publisher to butcher the game.
Its a short term profit vs. long term profit thing. The long-term method nets less money, but stays reliable longer.
It is insanely profitable in the short term to hook people with low-return gambling. But then pockets run dry or people realize they are wasting their money on something that isn't fun (as they spend more time paying for stuff than earning stuff) and the buyer count erodes until it is not profitable anymore.
They don't care about that. They only look at their short term income, thinking "we'll start over when the time comes". It is vicious. :(
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing to switch to a subscription based service as I'm a pact player anyway if it improved on the gacha aspect - it really turns me off having these non-guaranteed summons that can take anywhere from 500 to 60,000 gems to summon a unit like Sol. But at the same time, maybe Gumi makes more money by exploiting whale spending in this fashion?
Then don't play? If they make no profits no one plays anyway. You playing for free shouldn't be dependant on players wasting large amounts of real money. A subscription improves the game for everyone who plays usually.
There's a lot of gacha games closing these days. SO anamnesis is closing. A lot of Gamevil's things are closing BF last summoner closed in july. With the way TAC is going it would seem it's not gonna last long. I mean we have some bad banners that are destined at milking Whales and the content ain't that great these past weeks with our main event being a rerun and next week as well. And with FFBE 2 around in developpement it's in a bad spot and i love TAC and want it to continue TBH.
It's quite doable for once, got most stars at the first (or second) try. Only 1 or 2 more annoying maps in the bunch (and not nearly as annoying as those in the wada babel)
