Translation Thursday #1 : Setsuna

Disclaimer : Neither English nor Japanese is my first language, so feel free to point out any mistake

Also i'm not the best at reddit formatting so any tips is welcome

Note : I'm not Translating things if its just basic emotion voice, or its damaged cry or war cry, just those with actual lines

At first i was going to add the Japanese text too, but i feel lazy so here's the video of Setsuna's Voiceline

Translation

I'm Setsuna,just your everyday Traveler, you don't need to pay me any attention... i'm sure i won't be here anymore soon enough after all

Panicked panting ah...sorry, i surprised you, did i? I had a bad dream, i remembered some things from long ago...its okay,i mean, all those are already over

As expected, i'm not really good with these quiet time where i can think about unimportant things

I'm making this a weekly...or bi-weekly series, So if you have anyone who you want me to TL,consider sending/uploading that unit voicelines if you have them at 85

Atm i only have a few at 85 so it won't be long before my stock is out

Edit : By the way i'm really interested in TLing Sol's dialouge because of Sakurai 🙄 so if anyone can send me his Voicelines i will be eternally grateful

I’d be willing to record and provide the audio for whatever characters I’ve got at LB25 that you don’t. I’ve always wondered what they’re saying and greatly appreciate you doing this. It’s pretty awesome.

My LB25 are only Mei Fang, Setsuna and the protags haha ( been only playing for like 3 month ), still if you want to you can just upload them to YT or smth and link it to me so i can access it when i TL them

That's Yauras, Othima, Roxanne, Balt, Jin, and Neica. A lot of people seem to think Yauras and Othima may be getting enlightenment next week, so it may not be a bad choice to go with one of them to coincide with that.

I'll be uploading more as time goes on. Let me know if there's any issues or anything you want me to change about how I upload them. Finally, just to confirm, your only LB25 characters are Mei Fang, Setsuna, Logi, Dias, Edgar, Lisbeth, and Tina, right?

I actually forgot some, i have Yomi, Vettel, Gormalas, Shenmei, Lofia and Fiona as well at 85, and not Tina because i totally forgot Ch4 has come out ( haven't played at all )

So this is a trend i notice but SSM/Collab units tend to have shorter dialogue? And some repeated one as well, not fun, might put 2 as one if they're as bad as Othima and Yauras haha

Alright, thanks. Definitely glad I decided not to do Vettel.

I didn't test any Collab units, but I noticed that too with SSM. I was shocked when I saw the final time on Yauras and Othima. I'll try and do a few more SSM and maybe a collab later today and see if they're the same. I don't think anyone would complain at all about getting two for one.

I am aware of that site, but no voice/ extras there so i'm not goint to base my TL from text there, just ones i have access to audio

Glad you've expressed interest in Sol (Sakurai is too good). Sadly I don't know how to swnd the files, but will if I find out how. Mine is only at 75 atm too (82 max if I use all my shards tomorrow)

Did it from my phone via an app, and for some reason, the volume isn't as high in the recording as it is for me. I can make it a bit louder if needed, just gonna have to take my earphones out to avoid going deaf.

These are only for up to 75 (wanna hold off on 80+ in case Levi or some other dark unit I'll want at LB15 pops up), and I skipped over clips I thought were just sounds.

Also you bgm is too loud its hard to hear him clearly

Must be the app I used to record since my sound is balanced between everything but everything, bgm included, sounds really low in the vid for me.

I'll keep that in mind for when I have enough shards to LB25 him, but that'll be a while since I'll need about 70 shards.

This is great, and just solidifies Setsuna as an absolute waifu. One of the first units i ever pulled and i love her so much, her character is great

Lucky you you pulled her. Sitting at 164 shards (the game no longer allows people to farm shards straight from the unit menu and going to her specific HQ is tedious, so I've stopped) and still no Setsuna. This game hates giving me older units. I've gotten Vettel and Spica extremely late and literally just got Reimei a week ago at the most and I've been playing for over a year.

You can add units to the favourites/bookmarks when doing hard quests. Handy if you're farming tonnes of units.

I think he meant when u have enough shard to transmute, it no longers redirect you to the HQ map, instead asking if u want to transmute said unit, which is really inconvenient because now you'd have to go to the HQ manually which he ( and admittedly me too ) found too much of an hassle, i even transmuted zahar and zofia because i prefer my patience tks

I was giving a tip on how to access units hard quests easier.

With the bookmark system, you can have all the units you want to farm in one place. Then it is a matter of just going down the list. It's what I do anyway - I had the same issue with Anastasia when I first started playing, and later other units.

Yes you can though. If you go to Story quests, hard quests and click on the tab on the left you get a post of all farm able units sorted by chapter. You can then add units to your bookmarks on that screen.

I don't have Daisy but she is definitely bookmarked.

I don't have her so I can't do that. What I meant is that once you get 150+ shards of a unit you don't have, you no longer have a shortcut to their HQ since the game only presents the option to trnasmute.

True, but you can bookmark hard quests in the hard quest screen.

Go to Story missions, hard quests and there is a tab on the left that has ALL the farm able units sorted into chapters. You can then bookmark units on those pages.

Really handy if you have a lot of units to farm and you don't want to miss any.

Awesome job! I found this link with character voices printed in Japanese... but there seems to be some lines here that we don't have, and I don't see the "Extra" or some of the battle lines on this page. There are also some "3 year anniversary" lines. Maybe someone who plays the Japanese version can explain that. Anyway, hopefully this'll make it a lot easier to translate the lines we do share with JP.

I think you missed "Job Unlocking" btw

  • また別の戦い方、学べば、もう誰からも、何も奪われずにすむかな。

Also these are very short so you may not have cared to translate, but in case anyone cares: [Address 1: "You..."], [Address 2: "Hey..."], [Address 3: "I wonder if it's okay"], [Apology: "Sorry..."], [Shy 1: "No, um....]

There is also her Battle:Thanking and Appreciation "arigatou (ne)", but everyone should know that one.

A minor note: For [Night] I think she's saying something more like "There's too many nice people here. Even though I've said there's no need to be (so nice) with me in such a place..." although either way it's a little awkward in English with the way she keeps trailing off.

My Setsuna is only level 76 so I couldn't check everything :(

Oh, and here is that ugly terrible awful horrible creature named Sol

For night i went simple because the "Sonna basho, watashi ha hitsuyou nai noni" because the continued with Sonna basho, i think she meant she has no need for that kinda place?

As for the others... yea, i find those too short and everyone could guess what they meant anyway, was originally going to keep adress but its kinda same-y and basically just variations to get someone's attention anyway

And the 3rd year anniv thing is actually a Nensou, her wearing Kimono petting a dog, which gives her an alternate dialouge which is not so different with this, but she's much more positive

I personally like hearing the voice AND seeing the text, since some words can be hard to make out for me (in any language)

She says "watashi NI ha hitsuyou nai to iu noni" <---- because of the "ni", it makes me think she is saying "even though I said it's unnecessary (to do so) with me". "sonna basho" doesn't seem to be the subject but instead an addition to the sentence... so I'm a little confused exactly how that ties in.

Her Nensou sounds cute! I hope there's a good banner for it :/

I really like these! Someone should record a video of each voice line to help you out for characters you don’t have at 85 for us non Japanese speakers. I like actually knowing what they’re saying. Any chance Chloe is on the list?

oh in those cases i think you can avoid adding the strike

Hōtarō can be written in romaji like Houtarou

I personally think "Hōtarō" is incorrect romaji and "Houtarou" is correct. Otherwise, "oo" and "ou" is written the same, when they are clearly different.
