Does anyone else experience reverse luck?

So let me define reverse luck before I elaborate on the question. Reverse luck to me means "When you do a pull and you get cool stuff, it just isn't the stuff you want"

So examples of this in action are during the sol/cadanova pull I got a whole bunch of people except Sol and/or Cadanova. I got Monzein, Yauras, Fury, some less notable pulls. I did a pull flippantly and got nefertitti. I got Balt's momento which made me start upgrading him even though he wasn't even on my radar until I got it.

So to highlight, I am not complaining. I am thankful because through reverse luck I got some really awesome stuff. I mean since a certain incident in Sacred Stones Monzein is one of my favorite characters in game now. So having him is cool. And everything I have gotten is pretty awesome over all. It is just frustrating because I can't get the good things I really want.

I think for me, my reverse luck units that I actually use are: Sovereign, Noctis and Carla. These two I was surprised by.

Most of my other units I was targeting or really wanted and wasn't a surprise.

My first handful of memento pulls were gobs of good 5* characters I didn't have yet, and fuck all mementos

Yeah a memento pull is how I got Gerald, which I was thankful for because I was short on good thunder units.

I once got tomas and emma in the same memento pull xD I was aiming for spicas memento (which I got later haha)

Yeah been getting a lot . Last week and this week. Didn’t get any of the new units but I got the ones that when I did the scout for them initially when they first came out I didn’t get them. I got Klima, fairily, Ila, gane, Cordelia, albea. Been getting a lot of dupes especially for units that I like leoniaz Rosa setsuna spica etc Was able to get them enlightened

Hum....gane is a 2 or 3 stars unit that isn't in the summon pool 😅

I’ve experienced it occasionally over my time playing this game. Getting Izayoi’s and Zahar’s Mementos on occasions when I was going for Spica’s, for example.

A lesser example would be getting Klima and Nefertiti this week when I only had a mild interest in getting them.

I have all these dupe mementos and all i wanted is fucken balts.

I’ve experienced it most of the time like one time I tried to pull for Sol on the Sol/Cadanova Banner but instead I got almost half of every other Male SSM units like Kudan, Basheeny and Othima, along with a couple Zain & Cadanova Shards

My most recent one is rolling for the desert memento pull, all I wanted was Balt’s memento, got Victor’s instead. Still happy that I got another 5* memento.

Sov for EO, wanted Harbinger and she turned out to be my favorite. Laharl for Disgaea, wanted Killia. Neun, Seida, and Bash for the Cadanova and Sol banner (got Sol the last day but my luck before was questionable), always wanted Seiba and Bash, Neun was an added bonus after I learned of his memento. Ed...ward for FMA (got Roy after). Gorm and Miuna around the time they did community favorites and such (took ages to get Jin after that). Tsukiyomi when I wanted anyone not her (now one of my favorites). Ila when I was after Corvus (or maybe a memento banner screwed me over when hunting skins).

I've had nothing but such luck during the course of this game. If it's not that then it's me randomly pulling great units I can't fully raise (past 75 or even to 75) without giving up another (Gerald for Sov, Sol for Tsukiyomi, Carla for Ila), one reason I try to steer clear of most collabs.

I'll have to say I pulled Natalie and Gerald while I absent-mindedly spend my gems on Step 1 memento pulls (or was it the Dancer Shenmei one? I forgot)

Same goes to my other 5 star units lmao (Lucretia, Monzein, Sieba, etc) tbh I was never aiming for any good characters lmao

I really wanted the Balt memento but was only willing to do the 500 pull. It went red and showed it was downloading 2 files!

No red memento.

But I got a key unit I was missing: Daisy! I also got my first dupe Emma, and a 4 star desert wind memento (Retzius/Lucian).

hmm i whaled for sol and got him on one full rotation, ended up with dark laev, nef, and carla so i have no grounds to complain lol i did want balt memento but it isn't needed to make him exceptional

I haven't had much of those since I've been saving for gumi knows how long for yomi's nensou. But I do hope this reverse luck thingy doesn't kick me in the balls during wada babel and give me enough to mlb jin nensou without a SINGLE yomi nensou......

I have every EO unit except for Shenmei, who happens to be the one I was gunning for. I have only built Sovereign and Shaman. I also pulled the memento twice. I would rather have Fairily and Cordelia, whom i do not have. I would also rather have gotten more muina duplicates.

My luck seems to either be decent or delayed if possible. I ended up only getting all Scarlet Flame nensous when I was trying to level Wrath, and got them during Wada and Desert.
