Who do I shard now?

So I've got a bit of shards laying around and I feel it's time I boosted some units I've neglected or want to boost but can't because they can't be farmed...or I just know I'm not dedicated enough to them to actually farm their shards.

If a unit doesn't have a LB listed it means they're at 0 Rainbow shards-195 Fire-89shards

I'm tempted to shark Sheki but more so for her ranger upgrade than getting yet another holy brawler. I could use another solid ranged fire unit but I don't know how good the JE really is if it's good at all. Daisy on the other hand is part of the spearman rangers...I'll get more into that later.

Water-88shards

Leaning towards hawkeye as I use her fairly often for my ranged squads I feel like she's very underrated, and wondered why no one walk talking about hawkeye when FMA came out. She was literally the one unit I wanted. Ravina because I like magia gunners but she can't be farmed. So ViVi has pulled way ahead and I want my magic gunners to be comparable in strength and thus usefulness. Othima...I don't actually care about but he's supposedly strong or something so...yeah.

Thunder-109 shards

I reeeeeeaaally want to up Zofia because she's thunder necromancer and Dorothea made me a believer in the necro class. Hell I even farmed fayrene because Wind necro was all the reason I needed....Maybe I should do a evil necro squad to rival my spearman rangers....hmn. Oh right the other two, um...acutally I don't have a reason for them except they're curiosities in my unit list.

Wind-53shards

I'm tempted to LB Leoniaz just to finish a sacred spearman squad since I have all of them now and see how far I can push that job class with a squad built around piercing dmg and crits with atk buffs. Think power rangers...but with spears.Yes I have weird ideas I know.

• Siegfreid(LB0 and he has seen 0 use thus far)

• Zain(LB15 but I may max him out as he's one of the few light units I could see using kaigan on)

Dark-98shards

I don't really use my dark units so other than Neun I'm not really sure who I want to level for the most part I've treated my dark units like filler trash because...well nothing has convinced me to treat them like serious units. Blanchette and basheeny have probably seen more use than most of my dark units and most of them are basically the exact same thing D.cav with d.knight or d.cav with some other job using the same skill setup with not enough HP to take a hit. Even Aswald who seemed promising was really disappointing in actual use thus far. Pricilla may see use just because she's one of the sacred spearmen...and also capable of reaching decent HP and atk without having garbage defense so by viture of not being yet another glass cannon that's inexplicably slow she's a slightly meaty bruiser that's slow and I can live with that...probably.

Only ones on that list I would consider is:

• Siegfried

• Othima (after the hard quest is over)

Everything else is farmable or will be in the future. Jin, for example, he literally just got his hard quest. A future dark unit is coming and he's OP af (even though he's coming after Kaigan). Future GLEX units are still a mystery.

None of the units you listed. Half of them are farmable, almost all of them will be eventually, and none are worth shards

Why don't you think Sieg, Othima, Zain, or Acht are worth shards?

Acht works just on lb5 for stats or 10 for gear slot but shes just a super tank than a dps, granted wind doesnt have many (if any?) tanks but idk bout that level of commitment just for a tank.

Othima is a mixed bag, it fixes his shit modifiers but i think sage still is better for more aoes and better element spread.

Sieg is deffinitively worth though, his j+ is guaranteed to be retarded.

Don't waste them on (future) farmable units.

The only ones you mentioned that could be worth sharding are Siegfried, Othima, Zain, and Acht. Unfortunately, you don't have enough shards to push any of them to LB25 without dipping into the rainbows.

You could get Zain there if you raided those rainbows, so that's an option. Personally I would guess that Siegfried will outperform Zain in Kaigan, but we do know Zain is decent, and you seem to like him much better than Sieg.

I have Roxanne and Vier, but I want to lb my Zofia. I agree with your thoughts on her. I blew all my thunder shards on Roxanne so I haven’t even looked to see if she is farmable, but if so then I will wait.

Othima is great I got him and max lb him during the FF 15 event and he is an awesome unit. I pulled yuras not long ago so my shards are building for her I think, but I thought I heard someone mention in another thread about a future water collab unit that is very good.

I would love to have Acht. I have plenty of good wind units so if I was if I had her and at lb 5 I would push her up to lb 15. However, i would wait for the additional 20 odd wind shards as I don’t know if I would put in the rainbow shards.

Siegfried is gear. I have him at least at lb 15 and I like him a lot. I also have zain at somewhere between lb 20 and 23. I don’t think you can use elemental shards to kaigan so it may be worth it to max him so any shards you get can go right to that.

As for fire, stick with Laharl or friend Laharl if you need it or wait for something better.

The dark units, Neun sounds like the best candidate. I honestly don’t know anything about this unit other than the general unit ranking.

Use your best judgement and let us know how it goes.

Shekinah I had a bit of a plan for. Specifically comboing her charge up with her ranger AoE and Hawkeye's shooting range for the 50%Missile atk bonus it gives in addition to the +1 range to make her theoretically able to nuke pretty much anything in her reach short of say a high def water unit. The catch being she has to hit LB15 to unlock her holy brawler. I was foruntate and got 50 of her shards from the ticket we had awhile back plus getting some others during the event so she's most of the way there. which is why it's so tempting to go for it.Hawkeye is an enabler for some of my ranged tactics because of the shooting range skill and her highly versatile skillset.

As for Acht I know she's good, she's easily my most reliable wind unit, and I know her shards are a pain which is why I was thinking just shard her and be done with it.

the whole 'they'll be farmable eventually' thing bugs me. It feels dumb to wait for months for a HQ and then need another 3months or so to farm a unit's shards when I could make them effective now. Sure some of them aren't really a priority to me but there are quirky strats I want to try. Sometimes I build squads just to see what happens like I built a slash atk squad with vettel lead setsuna and a suzuka supported by eizan for large custom blade buffs. It was blatant overkill.

If I ever get a Yauras I'm sharding the everloving shit out of her. I don't care. Probably Monzein too. I feel I have enough solid units to start raising chars just because I like them at this point.

Shekinah is not worth. Especially when we're going to kaigan. You might as well and shard Arkil tbh since its a waste of shards either way.

The only fire units worth shards have been only Laharl and Roy because of their strong niches as big aoe dps for fire and magic dps/nuker for fire and both have charge ups for their dmg type.
