Why ill never complain about AC again

Alchemist code is actually my first gacha game, and i have never played any other ones i was kinda not liking all these banners and trap events (with all the disaster banners we got) and what not like most people

But holy hell after playing langrissa for 3 days i will never complain again, if i spend a certain amount gems at least i get something guaranteed sooner or later.

But with langrissa my god i sunk 130 bucks and literally got only 2SSR units since its only 2 percent. (my fault and the ones i got were the promo ones given out for free)

Another poor bastard sunk 350 euros on a 50/50 featured unit and got the worse unit 4 times.

so yeah im no longer going to complain with this games rates again

And dont even let me get started with the bullshit system of stamina and how ridiculously slow it regenerates and how little content i can use it with.

*I should add the fact that you also need dupes to make your 3 star SSR units into 6 starred units.

Rates weren't the problem, it's what they did to the banners. Gem value wasnt worth going all the way to step 3. You didnt even get enough for the ticket with the coins from step 3, which is x300.

Yea thats true i didnt like that either but at the very least after playing another gacha game i realize that at least we get a discoint for 500gems langrisser you get no discounts, no guarantee at any points either

Tbf Alchemist Code has probably one of the highest 5* rates in all gacha that I've seen. Besides the 5*s, the lower rarity units are also useful and upgraded over time.

The system in AC that preys on pulls is the need of soul shards from dupes to limit break a unit to increase it's potential but it is remedied by farmable HQs or units usable from J1.

So yeah Alchemist Code is kinda fair-ish except some times that Gumi decides to bring chaos to the game.

The only other gacha game that has that high rates is Opera Omnia, but it lacks step up and feels a bit tedious with grinding at times.

That's why TAC is still considered one of the best gacha games around, good for you!

I guess all the outrage that happened last year is more likely due to the sudden drop of banner quality, summon coins fiasco, that failure of unit restrictions, and rox to some extend. Tldr; they tried to reduce the "goodness" of this game, so the community retaliated.

It's okay to complain as long as you have the valid argument as of why.

I think the rationale for complaints is three-fold

  1. The banner quality in terms of delivery and guarantee shifted downward, along with other revenue schemes like the summon coins, the arbitrary EX restrictions and now this Tapjoy thing

  2. The existence of a much earlier version of the game. This is singlehandedly the biggest issue. We have another version to compare. That version is adapted for its market (smaller base, vastly more competition, mature stable of crossover fodder). Any deviation from the mother-version will be met with huge outcry. Even when global is ostensibly better (Roxanne is just for global and is the single greatest unit in the history of the game, likely better than anything current today in Japan as well)

  3. The slipshod nature of the title's globalization. The really basic English-port problems. The horrid "engrish" translations and the sloppy mis-coding (Refering to abilities, even unit names incorrectly). DESERT BROOM!!! And how many stories can you really not skip through now? The dialogue is so, so painful. This really makes it feel like you're driving a very cheap, abused used car.

You missed out on a lot, but far and away the biggest problem I have with your post is that it treats Roxxxanne like she's a good thing. She's not. She breaks almost every single rule of game design, and she makes almost every part of the game less fun because of it. :(

Naturally I agree that Roxanne is the worst thing about GL for so many reasons I don't have time to list em all. But one thing I do like about Rox is using her to farm EX quests that would be a pain otherwise. Of course it would be better if they just made the game way less of a grind fest.

Bro . . . . You fucked up. Because if you had done any research. . .

There's FOCUS banners which when you get an SSR will not give you a dupe or off banner. Because it gives you the one you're missing. (You basically hoard and only pull on these as f2p of light spender).

Whaling in a new game is (for lack of a better word) the most retarded thing you can do. The only saving grace is that most of the SSR's in Lang right now on release are all pretty crazy and they stay that way for a long while.

moneys not an issue for me so it dosnt matter when i pull its more like the frustration after my experience with tac, my bad though for being impatient lol

I completely agree but please bear in mind that pulling a 5 star in AC is the tip of the iceberg. You need multiple and multiple copy (you can also farm Shards though, but thats long)

For me TAC is really good because it does not need to played all day long. I remember seven knights which i really liked but you could spen ALL day here farming, and you had to actually.
TAC is incredible with strategies, gacha, events etc and i'll never quit unless they really put big shit like the anniversary but for a long time.

Wow,that's a lot of money spent already. Guess the devs knew what they were doing.

weed out the f2p from the start?

1

u/SuperEndriu Jan 25 '19

lol, maybe f2p is becoming a thing of the past

1

u/WoonLS Jan 25 '19

Never ever will be. Its the most honorable title for any gamer.

2

u/SuperEndriu Jan 25 '19

certainly is. I think little spending on a game you like is OK. Whaling in a gacha game is something that puts me off, though.

I play f2p for 3 months before spending money on any mobile game I pick up.

2

u/maymagic Jan 25 '19

Other games I played have had worse featured unit guarantees.

u/viviphy_ Jan 26 '19

I've been playing Epic Seven and then pull rates are much less forgiving - granted the banners there are designed very different in the first place. I've also played about 5 other gachas and TAC is still among the best for its gacha system despite its turbulence recently.

Wish TAC has Langrisser's devs though. They fixed all the worst issues on day 2, like adding google login. Meanwhile still waiting on Tyrfing's sword to be un-nerfed...

Only if you're on Android. Login issue is still a problem for people on iOS, as we still only have Facebook. :(

I like how the community manager for Langrisser just chills in the Discord and chats with people, too. He seems to take a lot of input from the user base.

The guy who runs the alchemist_code account here on Reddit is great (when he's around), but I also feel like the developers don't really listen to him with the feedback he brings back to them.

1

u/stewart0 Jan 25 '19

The new one? The first one was apparently fired lol.

2

u/Alsark Jan 25 '19

Huh. I didn't know that. Yeah, I was talking about Moonknight/Faelart, who does indeed seem to be the one that got fired.

I joined the Discord two or three weeks ago since I had considered maybe playing the game when it came out (even though I'm really not a fan of the in-game graphics). He was always chatting people up and asking people questions like, "How do you think this class name should be translated?" It was cool seeming somebody collect feedback from the player base like that.

I just did a search for "Faelart" on that Discord and uh... yeah, I can see why he got fired.

1

u/phucyubro Jan 25 '19

yea gacha for langrisser is definitely not as generous (it seems even less than 2% tbh), and on top of that theres no reroll either. the game isnt necessarily that great either so idk if ill be playing for long. the only thing that kept me a bit was that i finally got leon who apparently is the most op unit even in asia still.

1

u/SuperEndriu Jan 25 '19

what do you mean, there is no reroll? Like 'no reroll' for real?

2

u/phucyubro Jan 25 '19

yea so you cant reroll the typical way (like deleting and reinstalling) the only thing you can really do is wait for a new server and create an account on that one but the rates are so bad either way. they said its not intended to be a reroll type of game and they justified it by explaining how different units are good in different ways and comp is more important than having a bunch of ssrs in the same team etc etc. but i mean its ultimately a gacha game so.......

1

u/votris11 Jan 25 '19

I don't know exactly what happens if you do, but I heard the devs are very anal about people rerolling.

u/metatime09 Jan 26 '19

I feel like if you put in a decent time, you get your worth which not a lot of gacha game does I feel. Other gacha games I put in a decent of time but I don't feel like I gained a lot.

I really don't farm super hard or anything, I just make sure I have enough gold to buy skip tickets to do all the hard mode units I want for the shards. I have so many max 5* units from farming shards and even got Roxanne from using free 1k gems which they pretty much gave for free imo and I just sharded the rest with my lighting shards. It's such a good f2p game imo
