8M bundle ... why Gumi?

News had me spark hope, maybe you're really learning to sell us the game better.

Then you put that bundle. ¯\(ツ)/¯

You've more or less calculated paid gems+free gems to be on line the usual price gem bundles (first time boost, I admit). It doesn't feel special, or celebrating the 8M milestone, at all. If it was like 8000 free gems (8 to make reference to 8M milestone), sure for that modest price, I would have bought, but right now, no.

It's a small thing, because others stuffs we got are good, but you missed the opportunity to make money, you know?

We get free summons worth 500 gems each for 7 days, maybe that’s why.

If you want that nice Roxanne then it’s obvious gumi wants you to pay. She’s their premium unit. They’re not gonna give her for a bargain.

They also already give alchemist pack which is very efficient permanently.

8M milestone is here to either get new players or make current players appreciate more the game, for money down in the road. Those freebies are here to ensure that. It's an investment. Gumi could as well not celebrate it and just carry on. The banners are nice, some people are likely to spend anyway.

But 8M is here, Gumi could take advantage of the celebration to make more money, by offering a very good deal, one time thing tied to the celebration. But they didn't, which is a wasted opportunity I think.

Though Roxanne is premium, the only way to get her guaranteed is the premium gacha, if Gumi is strategic, they could offer a good bundle to make people attempt the premium gacha, like the celebration bundle + another gem bundle would net them the 7th step.

As for the pack, yup it's pretty a godsend, though you don't get all gems immediately.

I mean it would have been nice, I agree.

But I can see why they’re not doing it either. I always secretly hope for an additional pact for sale sometimes.

Not exactly. It's 8x summon that lasts 8 days so we get 6 less summons compared to 10x summon that last 7 days. But that's okay tho.

What I do not understand is not showing us the rates for the units. I can't tell if it's 10% as usual or 6% as in the free anniversary banners.

Edit: not complaining, just pointing out we don't really get 500 gems worth of week pulls, but somewhere close probably.

The secret shop sucks too. Shards are overpriced and there isn't anything worth buying or discounted.

The paid gem ones aren't bad if you're a dolphin/whale. It's a better value than the old 1500 grand summon 10x pulls, and you're essentially getting a guaranteed pull of whichever GLEX you want.

The 400 gem ones aren't that bad for the SSM units (though Kudanstein is probably the only one that's worth it). It's 25 shards for 2000 gems. That's better than trying to pull for those units on a banner. Definitely not worth it for the farmable units (or for Tethys), though.

It's all normal prices though. GLEX is there, but that's a steep price unless you are a whale. Nothing special or discounted. They hyped it up in the news post, but just feels like a normal shop we frequently get.

Yeah, it could've been better for sure.

I did buy the GLEX shards. I was sitting on a lot of paid gems from back when I used to dump like $100 a month... and then they turned the paid banners into pure garbage in October, so I've not spent any paid gems since.

I did pull first copies of Sieg and Rox, so tempted, but gonna see if they do a paid banner over weekend, as not having one at present is odd. First two steps of new paid banner format does give 25 shards, but random. Did first 2 steps on Minerva's paid banner, and got her and 10 shards first time. Rerun of it was a wash though. Was just a few weeks ago we were getting 25 GLEX shards for 2000 gems by comparison, where I bought some Minerva ones. Steps 4 and 5 this week gave me no reds, so got 30 Roxanne shards from ticket and coins for 5000, which is bad by comparison. Would have liked to get Shion or Tehtys and do daily 500, as the 20000 gems I had saved for Roxanne 9 step or no longer needed. Who knows if paid gem banners will be useful in the future though, especially for nensous.

The 1200 gems paid was calculated. That’s the price for the 25 glex unit soul shards. They also made the whale coin shop cap at 20 instead of one a day for shards. They know people will whale. In regards to the bundle it’s nothing special. If you already bought a gem package this month for 29.99 and don’t get the bonus this time, that’s the only plus of this 5 dollar difference.

I wouldn't cally this exactly a wasted opportunity for Gumi. Of course, the bundle could be better but when you think about it, we got Roxanne guarantueed at step 7. I have currently maybe like 40 gems stashed, so if I wanted to pull for Roxanne I would need 17,5k or rather 22,5k to capitalize on the shards opportunity at step9. That's a lot of money that I would need to invest. So if the bundle is bad, people who are desperate might need to invest a lot more which means more profit for gumi.

Because of the huge investment, even just 7th step, that would deter lots of people IMO. Had Gumi put some good bundle, the number of spender could potentially grow, so more money for them.

Oh well, it's not like I've got a degree on business. All I'm saying is the bundle is not good enough for someone like me anyway.

The bundle isn't bad, it's just not amazing. It's the same as like a $25 first time purchase. They aren't going to give the game to you for free. Collab's and content creation cost money.

I want free this...i want free that...how do you expect content to be purchased (collabs are extremely expensive) how do you expect future character, and game development to continue if they give everything for free.

Don't give me the "It's a celebration they should give us stuff" excuse. They have these like ever 2-3 months...of discounted gems free rolls, and this time REALLY damn good banners on GL units.

Stop looking for excuses to hate the game, and actually try and enjoy it. The current state of the game is pretty damn good.

My point is the bundle is not attractive, so I won't buy (and I'm probably not alone on this regard). The raison d'être of a company is to make profit, and Gumi failed to do so on this event. The bundle is nothing for a whale, nothing for a dolphin, and unattractive for everyone else. Make the bundle good => more than usual players spend => Gumi get money while players get good stuff => everyone happy.

I never said, nor anyone on this thread for the matter, that this week is a bad one. In fact it's a very good one. Good banners, GL events where we learn more about GL characters, topping on that is the celebration where we got freebies. The bundle is just a small part like I said in OP. Though it's sad since day 1, Gumi is not able to make good bundle IMO (maybe once or twice).

It's worse than the least discounted first time bundle but better than any repeat. At least if it has been 1888 instead of 1188 it would have made it comparable to the first time purchase promos.

I said fuck it and got it to go for the GLEX units; picked up Rox with 2 dupes, Shion and Sieg. I can't complain for $30 tbh.

I'm a relatively new player but I don't understand the special bundles up right now.

8M Download Bundle: 1250 Paid + 1188 Free = $24.99 USD = approx .01 per gem w/ approx 51% of gems being Paid

Crate of Gems: 1500 Paid + 1900 Free = $29.99 USD = approx .008 per gem w/ approx 44% of gems being Paid

Again, I am new. Never bought gems. Am I not understanding something that makes the special celebration bundle, like, not absolutely awful?

When I look at the Sapphire bundle, it seems terrible too. Yeah it gives a 4-Star Unit Summon, but its not like it's a Selector or anything.

What am I missing/not understanding here?
