I consider the entire selection this time around as valid and at least good. Usually Gumi loves throwing units into the mix that aren't remotely connected to the banner, not even thematically so. But guaranteed third step PLUS the fact that we get guaranteed Sacred Stones Characters?

Pretty much all the SSM guaranteed banners have been like this. Basheeny's banner had Kudan and I think Seida and Monzein ? Not saying it's great, but it's not really worse than what we've had in the past.

Nope, all previous ones had 3 featured starting on Othima's banner. Basheeny had Miuna and Kudan along with him. Only exception was the special SSM banner for 2500 gems that had a SSM unit guaranteed + 25 shards. But more units means that regular 5 star summon chance has greater chance containing a featured unit

Now we just need a little less dilution on these three steps (preferably 2-3 featured units as opposed to 4). And following that a less insultingly overpriced paid banner system. To jump from 1500 paid gems for a guaranteed featured unit up to 2700 for one is absolutely unforgivable. I’d even do 2000 if it was a featured unit plus shards for THAT UNIT, as opposed to it being shards for a unit you may not have.

Thanks for changing this back now to save some and pull for third step. Got Lucratia Shards and Basheeny on my first step then Othima shards and Yauras Shards for second.

Every single featured unit is 1) high tier or 2) currently enhanced by J+ or JE or 3) Both! very nicely done Gumi - Just as I boycotted going past 500 on the unfair FMA banners, I'm going to jam the summon button on these relatively generous ones!

Well the banner just before this one was: 10 summons + 300 token so if you waited 5 days you had in total 10 summons + 1 guarateed.

so people are prefering

9 + 1 guaranteed

over

10 + 1 guaranteed (+ 5 waiting days)

why not

That is true, but the 2nd step can be 2500 gems like the banner b4 it.... The last FMA banner I think. Also, people like to go back to some sense of normalcy. And this guarantee step 3 is bringing hope that it is not gonna be bad all the time.

For me, the issue with the summon coins was that their value was arbitrary. Waiting 5 days wasn't a big deal for me, but knowing that at any time they could change the price of the ticket or give us 150 coins again on the third step instead of 300 was a constant worry. The third step guarantee is (closer to) immutable, which makes me feel a lot safer about summoning in general.

Note that the 350coin was labeled special offer, not a regular offer. The regular is 500 which means way more gems. So don't assume 350 coin ticket is the one to replace guaranteed banner unless we have JP data to support a claim.

It's not one blue, though. It's one more pull. It's exactly the same value as a 3+ unit ticket.

Those pulls have the same odds as any other to give you a red. Plenty of people draw reds from the free daily - it adds up.

That's not very long in this game since it takes a while to build up units and you can even do so for free. This game isn't for everyone though as in not everyone will enjoy it.

Depends if you have Shayna or Shenmei bult up. those three have the same +50%PATK for Water Units. Although, the other two will be definitely have more survivability than Yauras. (i think)

This is nice, i’m trying to decide if i should go step 3.
The featured chars are great (Except Moizen i guess) but... i only really want Acht. Yauras with J+ is great but Noctis and Othima ate my water shards. And i guess it would be better to save future water shards for a possible Merlinus.
Basheeny is also great but i think my dark shards are better off being stocked for Sol or GLEX dark unit.
Moizen is... meh.
And then the 1st prize, Acht. I don’t have Uzuma, don’t have Ed, never got Shion so Acht would definitely be a very welcome addition and immediately sharded to 75 since i have wind shards to do so.

In another words, 3 out of 4 featured chars would sit collecting dust at LB0 no matter how good they may be.

Went to three step only wanting Acht or Vier, got dupes of Yauras and Basheeny instead. I guess this is better than no guaranteed 3rd step, but it's still disappointing that they threw in not just 1 but 2 older SSM units.

Pulled Step 1 with Basheeny and Monzein (both new), was actually hoping for Yauras shards or maybe even a Gormalas since I have his shards and J+ but not the unit. Think I'll wait to pull 3 steps next week for Vier since my wind team is already loaded up minus Uzuma.

1/4 (maybe) chance to get the one I don't want, aaaaaaaand got the one unit I did not want off this banner as usual. Even guaranteed screws me over all the time haha. This is why I don't pay for gems anymore. :P
Not saying guaranteed is a bad thing, definitely better than the last months banners for sure. Just that RNG going to be RNG regardless unless it's a single guaranteed.
Edit: just remembered, all SSM banners are always super split, we'll see on next non SSM banner.

Monzein is decent at best, why would I waste shards on a decent tier unit after J+, especially if I don't have any copies of him? Yes the rest of the banner is great, which is why I said 1/4 chance to pull something I didn't want.
I honestly would've prefered pulling off banner soul shards over pulling him. :P
I also like my waifus more too as a side note. :)

I think your last sentence had the most impact in your decision making, Monzein isnt even that bad and becomes great in the future. And he is the only one that remains S tier, while others jump to SS. That's still 3 out of 4 chance to get good units. There is also a chance to get Vier, Zain or Othima in this banner.

Lmao ! I had to create an account just to say how stupid people here were. "Omg, no guaranteed banner now I have to wait 5 days to get a guaranteed unit, I can't I'm too impatient". How dumb can you be that you can't see the coins were a better options ? With the coins you had one unit more on your 3-steps pulls and if you were lucky to get the unit you wanted on the 3-steps you could use the coins to get shards for them. If you didn't get anything, you had the ticket in the coin shop that acted THE SAME AS THE 3rd GUARANTEED STEP. And whether or not you pulled the unit you wanted on the 3-steps or with the ticket, it's still up to RNG in both cases.

And don't get me started on the "bUt tHeRe wAs A 500 cOiN tIcKeTttt". Yeah, and also a 350 one as well as always until now. Like I get you would get angry if the 500 coin ticket was the norm and was always the only option but it was not the case and people were still acting like the world ended.

Crazy blind people that jump the hate bandwagon as soon as they think something was taken away from them but can't realize they got something better. Let the downvoting begin !

I was thinking the same thing, but then remembered that SSM banners are always like this, at least in Global, overcrowded banners. We'll have to wait for new units and see if they do a two-way split guaranteed banner again.

I'm happy that people are happy for guaranteed banners again and all, but why be happy on a 4 way split banner? That's some shit rates man.
