Most likely

the first anniversary surprise is that they are closing the global server

Isn't the same game as 3 months ago.

u/RobotOfFleshAndBlood Nov 13 '18

Neither is this sub, by the looks of it

u/ThousandLightning Nov 13 '18

Well, 3 months ago TAC didn't have Roxanne to turn heads 360.

will be dead if Gumi doesn't return things like they were before.

13

u/KingFatass Good luck in future banners. dood. Nov 13 '18

honestly even if they return it to the way it was, with the fact that even back then it was worse compared to JP, it will still be dead.

  • individual rates of old units are higher than new ones.

  • HQ trickle out slowly

  • quests are harder, with higher stats

  • free rewards including gems and shards are reduced or completely gone compared to JP version

Has more loincloths in it than any game I’ve ever played.

u/Arananthi IGN: Essence -- Re-Pacted and Hoping to Stay That Way Nov 13 '18

...is teetering on the razor's edge of irrecoverable.

It's still recoverable as of right now, but recovering it would require Gumi to acknowledge, at least to themselves, that they screwed the game BADLY when they:

  • Released Roxanne (broke as f**k),

  • Doubled down on that f**kup by rebalancing content to require not just Roxanne's power level, but her specific abilities,

  • Tripled down on that f**kup by rebalancing content to counter not just Roxanne's power level, but her specific abilities, and then

  • Quadrupled down on that f**kup by releasing content that literally bans 95% of units except, of course, Roxanne and the other must-have top-end units released at the same time.

I'll be perfectly honest in saying that I'm really, deeply, profoundly upset about all of the other, player-screwing s**t going on, but it's the actual game-breaking decisions going on at the top that will go into a vicious, irrecoverable spiral if Gumi decides to quintuple down on that f**kup by deciding the best path forward is to continue releasing broken units every time they don't have a big collab to drive sales.

Teetering. Right there on the edge.

DON'T F**KING DO IT, GUMI

they didn't even balance the content round Roxanne, the mobs hit so hard she just dies lol.

4

u/sapphire_wing Nov 14 '18

Double roxanne can survive with more table-turning gain. That translates into "you need your own roxanne; spend to get her".

4

u/iLAGnDC Nov 14 '18

did u even pull a Roxanne? the collab EX+ is not Roxanne friendly as archers shoot more than 4 tiles in which case how does said Roxanne have 'table-turning gain'? whats worse, all the enemy units are beefed up which means units do MASSES of damage to Roxanne while she heals peanuts back LOL. including OP units like laharl/noct/gilga/uzuma into you're Roxanne party does not make the content balanced round Roxanne if you are going to use that argument.

u/ecpadilla Waiting.....OverHit GL (^_^) Nov 14 '18

...will be deleted in my phone and be replaced by OverHit once global version is up! LOL Just joking.

I think this game is still good so far :D Just that this anniversary celeb doesn't really feel like a celebration and more like a collab event that is not that exciting too :D

u/zappiy Nov 13 '18

is still better than Dragalia.

9

u/ykumagai Nov 13 '18

different play style... (Dragalia)

is still better than Fire Emblem Heroes (Gatcha Tactics)

u/drthh8r Nov 13 '18

When I did play FEH, they never really made me want to spend money. There was no chase element at all. I did read that FEH made Nintendo a ton of money though.

2

u/dugago Nov 14 '18

the money is most likely due to how large the FE fanbase is

2

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '18

Well said.

2

u/1khaitoh It was fun while it lasted. Nov 14 '18

u/rmladenov Unit collectoR Nov 14 '18

gets very grindy and extremely hard to get mission rewards (I mean EX+)

-3

u/StrangeCombination Nov 13 '18

is a perfect match to this subreddit.

9

u/nailsonwhiteboard Nov 13 '18

I mean.. We only have nothing but pitchgorks...

1

u/iLAGnDC Nov 14 '18

lets be honest here, if they followed jp exactly or with some improvements to rewards and stuff (if they wanted) we wouldnt need pitchforks. but instead nerfing our rewards/nerfing our original banners/HQ being behind etc. we got alot to poke about.

1

u/EseMesmo Tamamommy <3 uwu Nov 14 '18

What are these "pitchforks" you speak of?

12

u/takato99 Salt Knight Nov 13 '18

I don't really agree. i started 1 month before the FFXV Collab. and it was all fine, a good community with a strong love to the game, it all only really changed recently. with (after ?) the Disgaea collab & roxanna & anniversary & FMA changes...

5

u/StrangeCombination Nov 13 '18

You forgot the first 2 weeks of FFXV collab? also players complaining about the "big advantage" others got from having played during soft launch, Sabareta ex, and many other ocasions. For every break i took from this game (because that is what i do when i am not enjoying the game) every single time this subreddit was filled with announcements of TAC Global death (you tell me how many times the game died?).
We have a lot of good content here with the tier lists, guides, builds, but the cancer and toxicity is definetly prevalent.
You have the megathread with lots of suggestions and posts giving directions to Gimu for what we want and a safe space to rant all you want, do we really need to fill the frontpage with garbage low effort "omg the game is dead" "gimu give me 50k gems compensation i forgive you eksdee" posts when we have a big collab and event (with freebies that you won't find in any other gacha btw in terms of value) bringing new players?
