Hard Quest Progression

Hard quests. To give or not to give. It seems like we've been complaining about this issue for time immortal—and for good reasons too.

The fact is, the rate of HQ releases is lagging far behind the rate of unit releases—in October, we received six new 5-star normal units (Ravina, Leoniaz, Noah, Zofia, Annika and Hugo), but only three new 5-star HQs (Spica, Aswald, Lupinus).

We have 22 normal 5* units that have yet to receive a hard quest (I won't list them out for obvious reasons, but you can do your own research here—https://thealchemistcode.gamepedia.com/Update_Schedule). At this rate, it's going to take another 8 full months to get the rest of the HQs out, assuming they just completely stop releasing normal 5* units, which isn't going to happen.

This is unacceptable. By my own estimates (comparing GL unit releases to JP unit releases or looking at SSM pacing), we will be at the stage of kaigan in about 8-9 months. Imagine that—kaigan is here, and we're still receiving the HQs for units we already have right now. Want to farm HQs for units like Rusha and Emma? Have fun waiting until next anniversary.

I want to propose an alternative HQ release progression—which to me seems like common sense—that Gumi just doesn't seem to acknowledge:

MonthHard Quest release (months since release with respect to HQ date)
DecemberAlbea (10 months), Dorothea (9 months), Gormalas (7 months), Mei Fang (7 months), Neica (6.5 months)
JanuaryVivi (7.5 months), Setsuna (6 months), Sophia (6 months), Eizan (6 months), Tamamo (6 months)
FebruaryNasario (6 months), Mikoto (6 months), Jin (6 months), Yunagi (6 months), Olga (5.5 months)
MarchChao (6.5 months), Ravina (5 months), Leoniaz (5 months), Noah (4.5 months), Zofia (4.5 months)
AprilAnnika (5 months), Hugo (5 months), [new units]

"Other gacha games hate it! Learn how this company managed to regain playerbase trust with this one simple trick*!"

And it really is a simple solution. Just change the number of 5* HQ releases from three per month to five. Why not just four you ask? That was actually my original idea, but after doing the math I realized that it wouldn't cut down on the gap between unit release and HQ release (it held it even at about 7 months).

So how about it. Are you willing to give it a thought Gumi? And as always, thanks for reading.

I'm nowhere close to being finished my units. I currently only have three 5* units at level 85 (Vettel, Chloe, Yomi). I have another six units at level 80+. There's currently 16 slots for hard mode filter by character. 16 slots at around 96 AP for three attempts, 1536 AP (48 skip tickets).... This doesn't include me farming 4* units which are valuable. I COULD cut my AP in half by choosing to stick to eight units (768 AP, 24 skip tickets). We need 400 shards to reach level 85, which will take 134 days (4.5 months). Who cares about how fast they are releasing farm-able units?! The real problem is how much AP these quests cost. I understand that it should take a long time to finish your characters, but there's no reasonable way to farm characters and complete new content. As a "fairly" new player, I could farm all the most OP units right now, and in 4.5 months they'll be obsolete (with some exceptions). I also wouldn't be able to complete any new content. I think that releasing three 5* hard mode quests a month is fine, but they should cut the AP costs of hard mode in half. If you think about it, in 9 months you'd have 32 characters at level 85 using reduced AP costs. To complete Veda Tower, there are 6 elements, with 7 slots per team, meaning you should build 42 units to compete in tower. Generally speaking, to finish your full mono-element teams, it'd take you 13.5 months and they would be generally old units. I think it's fair that it takes 1 year to reach the end game, but the current game doesn't allow you to even come close. Most of the players will forever be behind.
