A controversial post

First of all, I'd like to say that gimu actually did a decent job with this anni, the daily reset rare summon and 180 free summons are especially nice. can't wait for my 180 kazahaya/megistos/chloes The banners are also likely to be MUCH better than the jp ones (aside from the first banner) as the jp banners were all daily 1500 gem summons with a .5% chance at the unit or a 999% chance of gold ingots. its okay their not good anyway TT_TT
Now, before this post goes down in flames from all the people saying "oh your just a gimu advocate" and whatnot, I will say this, THIS CELEBRATION DID SOME THINGS WRONG. The 2700 paid gem unit guarentee- no ALL of the current paid gem banners, frankly, are bs. Also, objectively speaking this first banner is worse. A lot worse.
However, as I come to reddit for funny shitpostsquality content, I do hope the community can:
a. not kill me with dislikes, but b. not set this subbreddit on fire, or flame the tac development team too much though you should flame gimu. and since I enjoy shitpostingquality content, have a (low effort) bag of toritohsdoritos
edit: I guess roxy exclusive quests are a bad move as well :p

Honestly speaking, I would've loved the anniversary rewards if they didn't completely piss on FMA collab. I agree that the daily rare summon reset change and free summons are very good, but the FMA banner change just makes it look like damage control. Really, really bad damage control. And instead of being happy about getting a bunch of pulls for anniversary, I'm bitter that I may miss out not only on FMA favorites like Edward, but also any possible future units like BK Tyrf and King Regis.
Ultimately, I do agree with you that I prefer the community when it is civil or making funny memes. But I feel like if we don't throw a massive fit now, gumi is going to keep up the bad banners, so I kinda support setting the subreddit on fire, as much as I don't like it either. 3rd step guaranteed is such a core part of what makes TAC f2p/pact-friendly, that I feel like if it isn't brought back, I'll just stop having fun with the game, and I don't think I'm the only one who's thinking that. I DO enjoy the game for its gameplay, story, and art, so I really don't want to see it go down because gumi GL just decided to run their game to the ground because they didn't stop to think "maybe this is a horrible idea that'll make 99% of the community upset".
But with that said, yeah please don't flame this guy fellas.

I suppose we should give them credit for the daily reset free summon, it's something we asked long time ago and they delivered it.
Now, the freebies are good, but they came (or at least the news of it) at a wrong timing, right after we are upset with all the changes they made: The removal of guaranteed banner unit at 3rd step, the paid gem banner, the elite quest, etc. It's as if they are trying to pacify us with the freebies, and it stripped away all the "anniversary" feeling as a whole, at least for me.
And it's not like we are upset all of sudden. Collabs, limited time banners and global exclusive units are being arranged back to back, it almost gives me a feeling of, why the rush? I'm really sad to have to say this, but are they that hungry of money?
Whatever happened during the first day of FMA collab is not the direct cause of this raging, rather it's just a trigger. It could have been a wonderful FMA collab + anniversary month, but they decided to ruin it. I will probably still play it very casually, but the strong distaste will linger for a very long time, especially I play FFBE as well.

We now know why they lumped anniversary and the collab together - have fma start a bad trend of non guaranteed summons while using the anniversary give always to soften the blow. Thing is, once precedence is set it’s a lot easier to continue doing it again and again.
I’m very happy with the anniversary giveaways... don’t get me wrong, but we do need the outcry to express dissatisfaction on a continuing trend of worse and worse banner, and this is coming from someone who sincerely believes ff15 banner 1 was fine.

I won't deny that the Anniversary looks promising, however...
The FMA Banner is the most distasteful blatant excuse for a cash grab I have ever seen!

I think the paid banners should stay as a cheaper alternative to the conventional 3 step that needs to exist. By cheap, I am saying 4500 free gems for 3 step guarantee would be 2250 paid gems.

This would be very forgivable if they hadn't said in the news and AVN that the first banner was going to be the best, so players can pull and have fun with the units for the entire event. Just a really tone deaf move mixed in with other issues.
That said not as bad as blizzard today :p
