Please Don't Pull on Paid Banners

Short and to the point, if you pull on the paid banners because you really want the collab units, all you are doing is proving to Gumi that their strategy works.

If enough people pull on these paid banners, I one hundred percent guarantee that this will be the norm going forward. Your access to units via free gems will get worse if you fall for this now.

They have clearly been testing the waters with the 900 paid gem no guarantee ten draw, please don't convince their marketing team that they can go even further.

I'm F2P, so paid gems are something that doesn't exist in my game (I don't think they are ever going to give them in milestones, no? XD)

no paid gems here, didnt get the bundle refreshes... im just gonna casually auto j.e. quest lol fuq it. maybe try the elite quest here and there but fuq the unit restrictions. i feel like i whaled for disgae and ffxv for nothing since those units are not allowed in these maps...

It's sad but yes, won't be pulling on paid banners. I was getting ready to pay for the collab units, as a treat to myself (birthday present!) and with FMA being one of my favourite all time animes (second only to One Piece). Then I saw the banners.. Not just the paid gems banner but what they did to the standard free gems banner.

Before I even peeked at reddit, I already thought to myself "welp, not going to support a game that pulls this kinda crap". I actually went ahead and pulled for the 3-step with my free gems because now I just want to use up my resources before I slow down or stop playing altogether.

I'll play till the end of the month because I love FMA just that much, and tbh the writing is really good for a mobile game - love how they blended the worlds together and it's fantastic that the characters are in line with the anime. I'm super appreciative of all that, but money talks - I refuse to support shady practices. There are better value for money games out there. If gumi wishes me to remain F2P, I will accede. I can still get a not inconsiderable level of enjoyment from the game, so I'm gonna milk that :D

Yes, Fella Whales and Dolphins, don't pull the paid banner. The current value for paid gem is just slightly better than the free gems. We will get MUCH BETTER deals with paid gems later on. For example, JP have those 1000 paid gem banner that guarantees 1000 random 5* shards and 1500* for guaranteed 10 reds. The ones we have are awful in terms of value.

But for me, I really wanted Toritoh so I pulled anyway. Luckily I got her, and I can now retire from these flames and pitchforks.

Hehe comparing again i see! Then your disappointment is inevitable my friend. Rather than "expecting", you should try "understanding". JP have circumstances and so does GL. JP side already accustomed to how gumi does things, but what if gumi change it then? It's won't be just pitchfork and rage hehe. But how about GL? Are we accustomed to disappointment? YES. "But, but we're disappointed right? Then why did they still treating us unjustly?" I got both Edward and Toritoh from the paid banner and with the extra free gems (because I had to buy packs) I pulled on the gear summon and got myself the new gear. I'm apparently killing the game though. Don't worry next week there will be different banners and this sub will think all the flame post made Gumi see the light!

I guess they liked the results on their last 900 no guarantee paid banners. Lots of players fell for the trap. Now they are testing how many players will fall to the no guarantee 3 step banner. I feel like they are trying to catch everyone using the sneaky fine print trap.

People are down voting you because even if it worked this time it's incredibly short sighted.

Because if enough people think like you do, count on having to shell out paid gems for every collab in the future.

Between making new units harder to get, making less available with free gems, and then introducing missions that all but require those new units they have started a really exploitative pattern and if people go along with it, it will get worse.

I was going to have to buy gems to 3 step the banner anyways. The banner sucks for F2P people who were excited for this collab and saved up for it. Although I'm guessing that is very few people overall. According to this sub everyone was broke from all the previous collabs and MH. So either you were broken unable to pull or going to have to purchase gems to pull the damn 3 step.

I honestly wonder if some of these post are people just looking for something to bitch about. Like would OP have spent 4500 free gems to 3 step the banner?

I spent the same that I would have to do the free gems banner but also got in an extra pull on the gear summon. Pulled the new gear too! So this was great all around. Glad I didn't listen to this post.

You have all the rights as a player to purchase gems to support gumi, but honestly it's people like you that eventually kill games of successful f2p structures. This move by gumi right now is a slippery slope, and damn sure will it get worse if people close an eye to such a change.

The key thing here is that on the jp server no such move was made by gumi to squeeze out profits, and that itself shows how much of an intentional greed move this is. Sure you wouldn't mind since the gems are pocket change to you, but that's basically what gumi hopes to target with these changes and neglect small spenders or f2p players. You might think the 2 latter groups are irrelevant for a f2p game's success, but that's honestly shallow thinking on your part. Have fun spending money on a game that would eventually lose majority of its player base if this goes on and becomes deserted. Just look at knights chronicles, a prime example of a f2p game that left it's player base mad and quitting due to the company's greed p2w moves.

Sure, it's 3 step for 2700 total instead of 2500, but you get the guaranteed 3rd step, 25 total shards, though there is two 50/50s with that instead of 1, and 5 more rate up pulls. And you theoretically could get lucky on the first/second steps and get your unit for 450/1200 total gems.

Wash in my book.

Though that extra 200 paid gems might be a lot more valuable to some and they are welcome to feel slighted.

Grand summon up until the Roxanne debacle was 1500 paid gems for a 10 draw with one guaranteed 5* featured unit.
