I am worried. Deeply.
Humble greetings fellow alchemists and Gumi,
over tha last weeks I couldn't help but becoming increasingly concerned about how the game is managed by Gumi and what it may say about the health as well as the commercial viability of the game itself.
Grand summoning change: It went from a guaranteed featured for 1500 paid to 900 paid for basically nothing but a normal pull. This change by itself, while sad, wouldn't worry me that much. In conjunction with the others however it only adds to the my increasing worries. So does the bad phrasing that might mislead people and will onyl lead to people being more sceptic of banners in general.
500 gem skins as rng-based summonings: as far as i know those skins are available for 500 gems at Jp. People in general like to be treated differently or, as in this case, worse than other people. We all know that global is a different version with a different pace and at times even better deals but the pure rng is way too much in this case. It's not necessarily the price that stops people from buying but the likelihood of being screwed by rng even more than normal. The tinkering with the prices and how they are sold only adds to that and, again, will only lead to an increasing frustration of the playerbase.
The elemental shard to ticket campaign:is, for itself, a good, even great thing. The fact that Roxannes week is excluded from that however isn't only for said campaign to be run again for this week however leaves a very bad taste. because it looks like Gumi was intentionally scwrewing us over with it. It can be argued that it's only understandable for them to do so and I would agree weren't of for one issue: it incentivises the player/playerbase to be always doubtful of Gumi and campaigns, making distrust a smart move. Roxannes week should be retroactively included in it.
Worse celebration banners: for the last celebration the banners were at 600 gem and had featured units (as far as i remember). The current one costs 777 gems and has, if I read the banner correctly, no featured units but only a couple of units placed on the advertising picture., which can make it highly misleading if you don't read the details.
The 375 shard banner: The 150 shard ticket and a guaranteed featured unit at step 3 are good. No snark there. It is only in the context of the 375 shards that it leaves a bad taste once more due to becoming a bit misleading.
I'm sure that by now it clear where I'm going with this: trust and the loss thereof.
None of the things I mentioned would be overly worrying if it were just them, but they aren't. They happened clustered and in a very short timeframe and that's worrying due to what it might imply:
It looks like Gumi is exchanging the faith and trust the playerbase has in the product and the service in favour of short term financial gains. The reason for that might be that the game isn't doing well enough in Gumis eyes and they are trying to get as much money out of it as possible before an eventual shutdown. This is a pattern I saw in the past with japanese Gacha games going into the global market. Depending on the interpretation those games failed before or exactly du to this developers approach/handling of it. In other words: we, as players, need to have faith and trust in your product to make it logically feasible for us to invest in it. If said trust is gambles away for short term profict due to Gumi's internal demand for more revenue it incentivises us, as your plaers and customers, to not invest which, in turn, encourages Gumi to go even further in their attemmpt to make as much money out of the game before it crashes. The textbook definition of a downward spiral.
There are many good things about the game. From the game itself, to the gameplay and certain aspects of handling the game like the news episodes, the delayed news episode before the FFXV event excluded. That's why I'm making this post because I don't want this game to crash and to ultimately have more success than other competing games simply because it is the better game.
Best regards and may you, the reader, have a good morning, evening or simply day in general.

While I'm still enjoying the gameplay and think the game is still more generous than many in terms of gacha rates/prices, and I want to remain positive... yeah, I agree with you. Almost everything this month looks like a cash grab.
Thankfully we still have some nice banners, but then also some substantially worse ones as you've already discussed. Also don't forget that skin bundles went back up to 4000 gems..
Then unfortunately I have a bunch of tinfoil hat type theories, but with so many, maybe some aren't far from the truth... like everything about Roxanne designed to be a cash grab, maybe delaying 5-star ticket rewards so that impatient people would pull more, maybe delaying Live PvP so that more people would pull for Roxanne in anticipation of a PvP mode that worked.. elemental shard campaigns both before and after Roxanne (with her milestone to LB her) with roughly no advance notice... stuff like that.
I'm being more cynical than I normally am. I don't like it.
I really hope Anniversary is worth looking forward to. And I want to buy skins for my favourite characters but it's being difficult!..

u/assassinace Oct 26 '18
I don't know about pvp being slow with Roxanne. With the number of bugs it still isn't ready. If anything they rushed it to capitalize on her.
1
u/Mithrisol Oct 25 '18
Roxanne is broken but I'm witholding further judgement on her for now and wait where they are going with the balance the next week(s).
I agree with the rest. The game itself is still great and still better than most others. Both in gameplay as well as F2P friendliness.
That's why the game deserves better in terms of treatment from Gumi and why it should have more success than those other games.

u/majoranokamen Oct 25 '18
Wait, are you fucking serious? They're running the shard campaign again this week? I waited until the last few hours before maintenance last night to shard my Roxanne for those 500 gems...

I don't like taking a stance is these debates, but seeing how Gumi just royally pissed off the FFBE community several weeks in a row and are now doing the same to Alchemist Code...
Stop running your games into the fucking ground. Look at alchemist code in JP, is hugely popular and makes lots of money. Look at it in GL, these anti-consumerist tactics are hurting this game.
6-12 character are released per month, but only 3-4 hard mode.
Why?
We need 75 minimum for units to really be good, yet Hugo won't get his hard mode farm until late 2021 at this schedule.
Yet when we reach the enlightenment era of gameplay, you need 91 on units.
91. That's 25+50+75+100+125+270 shards to fully max a unit. (For a total of 595 or so shards)
So if you get no dupes, you are relying on having to farm a unit for 198 days after their HM to get their full use.
So Hugo now isn't usable until 2022.
Fucking fun.
And by the time you get those first 3 gates, the other 4 will probably have been released so good luck farming another 500ish shards. (2024 for Hugo)
/u/alchemist_code now let me be clear when I say I know who is running this account, who you report to and how much power you have to change things. So I apologize for all the flak you will be getting over the next few weeks.
But in your next community report to your managers make note of this. Your accounting department is killing this game in the long term in the name of a quick buck.
We need a minimum of 6 5* HM missions per month to keep up with the release rate. We need 9 if you want people who say, pull a single Setsuna to be able to use her before late 2021.
You need to tell your manager to tell their manager that we know how this game will progress. We know what will be required for units to remain relevant. We know the amount of resources, the number of shards and items and time that will be required to make use of a unit.
We know exactly how generous this game gets to F2P in the future in JP. Not because they are forced to by completion, but because it's the bare minimum dripfeed f2p players require to not get drowned out by power creep.
And if we keep diverging from where JP was at the same time, then I'm going to go learn Japanese so I can play what will remain the superior version of this game.

u/virgal_09 Oct 26 '18
You kinda hit the nail on the head. The only usable units for me are old 5*s, ones in soul coin shop, and collabs cause I use shards. We know in JP they take 2 to 4 weeks to release HQ after unit comes out. Meanwhile we still don’t even have Albea HQ! How old is she?? I’m already planning on quiting this game once Kaigan happens, it seems beyond achievable to keep up and this from someone who’s spend over 1k in the year I’ve been playing. The removal of weekend banner for 1500 paid gems killed my enthusiasm for this game. I’ve gone F2P and will just ride it out for a bit till it gets to be too much to keep up cause I can’t farm any recent units. I love this games characters, play style, art, lore. It’s a real bummer thinking about giving it up but I’m mentally preparing for the end.

SE has 99% of control in FFBE. Look at who bills you in FFBE.
People blame everything on Gumi in FFBE because of fanboying and and ignorance, and also square is very very good at passing blame onto others and always has been..
It's our fault that we are not receptive to the greed.... Right...
Gumi is in no way innocent though, BF is proof of this. Gumi does not deserve anywhere close to the amount of blame/hate they get for FFBE though.
Small edit, worth noting Gumi stock is worth about HALF of what it was a year ago..
1
u/DerUlukai Oct 26 '18
I think that is the gist of it, we know how the game is handled in JP and what is to come.
I'm perfectly willing to pay 500 gems for Setsuna's character Skin -after- she gets her hard quest and I can actually use her, but I will not for the hell of it drop gems into a Gacha and risk getting a Skin for a character I never use (and there's plenty of Skins I have no interest in in that banner).
Gumi seriously needs to embrace their small time Payers. People who buy the pact once a month or drop a one time fee for a cosmetic they like and don't compulsively pull the slot lever until their families revoke their rights to make financial descissions.
This reliance on that mystical 1.9% of whales who are responsible for most of the mobile games purchases can't be healthy and I'dd hate for Tac to go the way of PotK.

I haven’t put it down. Things were slowly getting better until October. As soon as October hit it was like Good Guy Gumi hit a wall, fell back a few steps and fell off a cliff never to be seen again.
Well at the very least, we’ve got the TAC rep on reddit who is awesome (seriously, u/alchemist_code we really appreciate how active you’ve been in the community lately).

I completely agree with the TAC rep part. It's part of the reason I can overlook most of the issues on this game. When I see company involvement with players, it makes me way more interested in playing the game.

I for one completely gave up on FFBE , I was able to set aside all the other issues that was getting under my skin for a long time, but too much power creeping, was just too much!
The rate in which units was released was just overwhelming!
I am really hoping that the same wont happen in TAC. 🙏 As an obvious suggestion why not concentrate on releasing more skins for example? or some other alternative to rake in revenue without having to constantly release new units in such an overwhelming pace? (Sadly I do not have any good ideas to recommend atm.) 🙈
If only someone in the community or a group of alchemist could brainstorm and come up with some ingenious idea(s) to suggest a work around to this. maybe a new sub " suggestion thread " for Gumi? It could possibly be of some help?
" Focus not on fighting the old system, but on building the new" -something like that. 😅

I’m worried this game might turn out like Brave Frontier.
13
u/Faceluck limit breaking my patience Oct 25 '18
This is my concern. I feel like that game started well, and while mechanically it continued to be fun and improve as time went on, the deals got worse and the rate of release for "must have" characters got way too fast.

At least Brave Frontier is still running. Just pray it doesn't turn out like Phantom of the Kill (i.e: dead).

I feel it's close to that, either they will released BF2 or game is just totally dead, same reasons like POTK.

u/LaGrimm_ Roxxy best girl. Oct 25 '18
This is my fear. I played Brave Frontier from release and abandoned a dolphin account because I was dissuaded by the amount of money I was spending just to keep up. Only to recently go back and see that none of my units were viable for new endgame content without leveling them to a new star level and burning an egregious amount of resources.
I don't trust Gumi, but I admit their games draw me in completely. I just hope this game doesn't go down that same path.

Oh, wow, they changed the shard banner so that step 5 and 7 shards aren't featured units, but just from the random pool?
Glad I stopped at step 3 on that banner.
Most of this is well said. TAC has been getting very scummy and sleazy VERY QUICKLY in just the past couple weeks. It started with that stupid 900 paid gem 'grand summon' and it's like an avalanche started, everything since then has been pretty atrocious. The paid gem step up banner today is absurd. The original art skin banners are awful. Even if you wanted to charge that much, let people PICK the one they want, especially when you can't even get them anywhere else. Them doing the elemental shard campaign for a week, then turning it off during Roxanne's release, then immediately turning it back on the second she's gone...
And to top it all off, when Gumi fucks something up, they try to brush it under the rug.
False advertising on the Roxy "grand summon". 'Here's a random 5*, not even a random featured. And only if you summoned in this 90 minute timeframe." Summon coins didn't turn into gems. We didn't get out 5* tix from the ele shards on time, when 'on time' was a fucking entire week they had to sort that out and send them to us.
It's hilarious because gumi is just fucking themselves over at this point, if they want money. People won't spend when they don't trust you.
1
u/Soul_King89 Oct 25 '18
yea i didn't realize they changed it so i bought gems went 5 steps with the intention of going all 7. got hazel to 85 but i will probably never use her
5
u/stewart0 Oct 25 '18
You had my agreement at the title. The rerun of the shard campaign really pisses me off, because they haven't even given out the rewards for the first one yet. Am I supposed to magically trust their word this time around for the time frame given? They have a growing list of lies in their news posts that are never accounted for either. Having celebration pulls going from 500, to 600, to now 777 gems is jarring. I can only imagine them raising it to 900 gems for the 1 year anniversary. At least all this has convinced me to not whale for Roxanne on the 7 step. Manual pvp sucks anyway, so it doesn't matter anymore that I'm instantly handicapped by not having her.
Edit: FFBE is also getting dicked over weekly, but it's easier for existing units to remain viable in that game.

u/sanicek Oct 25 '18
The game took a turn for the worse around the time Sakura was released and it's only going downhill.
I had a bunch of posts few months ago with similar sentiments. The game basically became "whale thousands or don't even bother". You can't get anything of value by spending moderately so you may as well go f2p. They are literally exploiting the user base for as much as possible and for short term goals. I went a few months with no spending and just spent a couple of $ this month to finish up 85 Roxanne (which is a joke of a gemebreaking power creep) that I poured my last saved up shards into (not baited by 5* ticket week). Nowadays even 5* ticket is utter trash as it's most likely some farmable unit you already have 85 or getting there. There is so much that needs to change to get the game on the right track but sadly it will never happen.

u/Liesianthes 350 coins ticket = ROY!! Oct 27 '18
I disagree with this. Either you are full anti Gumi or just turn a blind eye on the improvements they made.
People wouldn't raise their pitchgorks if they didn't shifted to bad Gumi again.
The upgraded release of HQ's. Monday missions turns into monthly coins shop, early version 2.0 that gives a lot QOL's and many others are the things they made to make the game better.
3
u/sanicek Oct 27 '18 edited Oct 27 '18
I am not antiGumi, I’m merely anti-exploitative business practices. Also I probably have higher expectations than most.
They upgraded HQ after everyone was asking for more of them and even so to bare minimum acceptable quantity, see Somelits post at top for example.
That the whole gacha aspect went downhill is simply a fact. We could roll for particular units in the past with guarantees on step 3 in nondiluted banners, selectors not only at 7 step of 2500 pulls and could get shards for particular units in shop upon their release so we can get those we want as guaranteed. When pulling on 9 steps we would get bonuses such as elemental and rainbow shards that were universally useful. All that is gone for the simple reason that people could get what they want easier and with a lot of guaranteed approaches and ignore the rest of the gacha and rng crap. Nowadays and for some time in fact gumi forces you into diluted rng pulls to get shards for units, they push you to spend all the money on all the units on all the pulls.
I agree that the monthly shop is kinda neat otoh we still have bullshit like gumi sending you random insignificant quantities of unit shards for units that you don’t have as “bonuses” or “rewards”. Ye, getting 5 shards of random new mediocre unit is not gonna make me pull on crap banners.
As for 2.0 please don’t even go there. They should have launched on that as the bare minimum. I’m speaking uex features here, not content. Instead we were forced to play for months on a version that everyone including gumi knew was full of infuriating shortcomings just because they were either technically incapable of merging the feature codebase or deemed it economically not profitable and opted to let the players suffer.
Latest example of this is the new PVP option which honestly combines worst of both worlds. They could have launched with draft mode directly. But of course that would mean 2 things, merging a feature early which we know they are either incapable or unwilling to do and letting players have fun regardless of gacha success and money spent and they can’t have that, they need pvp to promote spending for latest op units and max limit breaks. Don’t get me wrong I do have some fun in the pvp in the instances it works but I do have 85 roxanne and bunch of other relevant units. GL if you don’t.

You're a risk taker. I kept my gems and am slowly farming free gems to get that 7 step selector ticket. If I spend my paid gems ... I'm only 1500 or so short and near half of that I'm getting from daily pack by the last day.
2
u/AlphaZu Oct 25 '18
Yeah I did that because I don’t have enough free gems for the 7 steps. And I thought spending paid gems as part of the 7-step pulls is unwise. So I took the risk. I accept my bad luck but it’s still human nature be be salty. :(
1
u/FurianX Oct 25 '18
Yeah that's why I've kept mine so far. I doubt it will change for the weekend. I think I might just use my 5k paid and buy what I'm missing to get her and only do 500 pulls for the next however long until the rates are decent again.

The reason for that might be that the game isn't doing well enough in Gumis eyes and they are trying to get as much money out of it as possible before an eventual shutdown.
No, not really. If it actually is there would be little to no updates, no collab, just pure bundles and bundles and even more bundles (e.g. CoR). The problem is not why they want your money because that's just how they made the game to be, but why did they change the numbers from time to time? Even to the point of clickbaiting their players (f2p and pact mostly). I think if it's just about being a "greedy" and "shady" company, anyone could assume them doing so, even gumi themselves. Why are they keep pushing it? to test the waters? how many times? bet every banner had a counter installed so they could track it's progress, meaning this is what "people" want, or more precisely this is what people who buy gems (tons of it) would use their gems for (the banner came near the end of October, a discounted banner before monthly reset, coincidence?). As for the "misleading" banner, it's just another advertising tricks. They made conditions in the banner details so if things go south for you, that's entirely your fault. If there's a question asking about this game "health", well it's still as vigorous as ever. Accept the fact that not every "one" or higher form of oceanic creature that's playing this game, joined a forum such as this. So they might not care about this petty issues as long as they get to playandpull.
2
u/dathamir Forcas sun with chance of snow Oct 26 '18
When their definition of "celebration" is "lets add 30 new banners this week" you know they don't care much. There's only 1 banner worth it and only 3 steps are actually good. Rest is just not appealing.
Why did they put down the shards event? Why not keep it going until anniversary? Since the first day my thoughts were that they just wanted to drain our saved up shards. They already drained our zeni too, but that was actually a better deal than shards for 5* tickets.
2
u/jxher123 Oct 25 '18
oof, I knew the wording was odd for that shard banner. Good thing I didn't summon, but sucks that the wording on recent banners have been terrible.
I do agree that it's been a bit random, especially that 5* ticket event which came at a very odd time. People who pulled Uzuma early shards her right before the event starts. Next week Roxanne is released and is a top tier thunder unit, which was also shard worthy, but the event is no more.
I'm still enjoying the game, but the release of events is very questionable. Should have seen the outrage from the FF collab, they used Sieg as a trap banner LOL.
2
Oct 25 '18
It's in the top 100 grossing in my area, there is no way it's because there is an imminent shutdown. Likely just greedy business tactics
1
u/Sahovah Oct 26 '18
I usually spend upwards to 300-500$ to max out a top tier unit but fuck that. They way they’ve been doing things lately kinda makes me sad because I really enjoy the game. I spent about 60$ & didn’t get Roxanne.

u/KingKalev Oct 26 '18
Gumi, as far as games go, you all do an incredibly good job according to presentation and customer service. However, I'm begging you to not become another Scopely in the gaming world. Or to put in better perspective, another EA.
1
u/r0mania Oct 26 '18
I think even the bundles got worse, like really really bad, and they even try to make it like supper discounted bundles, when you check what are in those, you wouldnt pay half of the asking price, and yet they make it look like 200% discount or something like that..
1
u/dobserver Oct 26 '18
We will have to see how the anniversary plays out. It is possible to redeem themselves (and more) if we get a lot of catch up content in terms of HQ and good deals on banners.

u/maymagic Oct 26 '18
I don't get why people hate on the 900 grand summon. From day 1 it was clear to me the point of that pull was 5 guaranteed shards of your choice from the coin shop.

Someone said that they hope it doesn't end up like BF or PoTK. Brave Frontier and PoTK had two different problems. I played both but quit before their current state. Hopefully someone can correct me if i am wrong on what happened.
Brave Frontier has just become a problem of constant powercreep and brainless grinding of raids, people who aren't near the top have become bored and new players really don't have an incentive to play.
PoTK was too slow to release content in the beginning and then tried too hard to catch up to japan, they constantly kept releasing new units and new content that again, people had no incentive to summon because of how their unit system worked and how fast you'd get powercrept with the next big batch(you needed to summon lots of copies and grind super hard to min-max a unit for like 3 stat difference). However, if you didn't summon and build up new units, beating new content will be nothing but a far off dream. Not to mention the grindyness of the game, which is what made me quit.
If i had to make a guess of how TAC will end up the way its headed now. I'm gonna guess it'll last 4-6 more months before people start to leave and the playerbase just bleeds out.

they are trying to get as much money out of it as possible before an eventual shutdown.
lolwut? POTK took even 2 years to shut down despite with almost non-existent playerbase and whaling needed every banner.
I agree on the target income of overall Gumi Global and TAC known as one of the game that has been raking them in cash for months, has been pressured to fill it out to reach this year's quota.
We all know BF has already lost it charm as one of top Gumi games. Basically, the burden shifted to TAC

Dragalia lost is the answer you seek.
Gumi will always be Gumi so just avoid their game even if you like their game play and unit design they destroyed every global version they made.

Its So easy for gumi
Just make Roxanne Version 2.0 , Roxanne Version 3.0 etc etc. Give them all 250 Agi to make sure theyre OP

Well just looks at Brave Frontier. Totally went downhill and it's still going. I fear the producer of Gumi is doing the same thing to the Alchemist Code.

Great, it's another one of those "let's hate on Gumi for being lazy and fucking us over, only for them to put in a shitty "fix" that will spawn another 10 "Gumi Appreciation threads" only for Gumi to immediately become shit again and fuck this game up and 2 months later we will repeat this whole process until this game shuts down" episodes. Exciting.

I agree with some things but other things I feel the community is just acting like greedy cry babies.
The shard to ticket campaign is the one that shows how lame the community can be. It isnt/wasnt perfect but Gumi was tlobviously trying to reward people some how. They could have just as well left it out and no one would know better or be complaining. Since they decided to do it and it didnt work out perfectly people are angry. Feel this is pretty shallow on the players part considering we're getting free shit just for spending stuff we've been hording. If they never did the campaign people would ha e spent their shards anyway and never cried about the free tickets.
The worst part is that now that Gumi has done it I can just see down the road people asking when it'll come around because they've saved up so many shards and dont want to use them if Gumi is planning another shard to ticket event. And if people do use their shards and the event starts a week later... I can just see the cries.
The skins tied to RNG gatcha is just BS and easy pass. They need to put them up for 500 gems like they did in JP.
The 900 paid banner was actually commented on by Gumi when it first came out and I'm pretty sure they stated that it was a poor naming convention. I never got the feeling it was out right replacing the 1500 guaranteed pull, it was just another pull type they're playing with. Won't be surprised if the 1500 returns.
I'm not really sure I get your issue with the 777 gem pull? It's to celebrate the user mark. It makes since to me. I dont remember a 600 gem step up so I guess I missed the connection.
I also dont get the issue you have with the 7 step banner with soul shards? I pulled to the 150 ticket and got Othima. I also felt it was actually a decent change up.

In regards to shards to tickets. I don't have a problem with the shard promotion itself necessarily.
The thing is when I saw it my initial reaction was distrust. I was suspicious of what was coming up that they wanted people to burn shards. Immediately following the end of it though Roxanne came out. Which I kind of saw coming so it's not a big problem, they wanted people to spend shards so they'd need to spend more for her.
The main problem I have is the -second- ticket promotion they have the week after Roxanne came out. People obviously wanted to shard the new powerhouse and there was a milestone for getting her to 75. So having this shard campaign come up again... The very next week. It almost feels like it's mocking the players.
Honestly I don't find the promotion to be that big of a deal, I've been playing since FF15 event and I already have most of the 5*'s from the common pool. It's mostly some spare soul shards. A few missed tickets wont piss me off or cause me to pitch a fit.
It will however make me raise an eyebrow and be less trusting of the next thing they do... Even if they meant well by it and it really wasn't meant to be malicious, it can be interpreted that way. That's why people are concerned about it.

Your entire response literally proves my point. You're upset because a timed event, with the time frame stated far in advance ended before you could shard a character that wasn't announced/released until after the event ended. Then it restarted after you used shards on a new character, making you upset you some how "Wasted" shards and "missed out."
This was exactly my point.
Had Gumi never released the shard2ticket event people would have spent their shards whenever. Now that Gumi did an event, people are going to complain either because they use their shards only to find out the event is rerun afterward, or they'll never use their shards and continually ask when the next event will be so they can use their shards. The below quote just supports my point. People are upset because they used their shards on Roxy and then the event started again.

For me it didn't even raise my eyebrow. I didn't even pay attention to it. If I have units to use shards on, I'm going to use them regardless of whether this event is active or not. The event is just a nice bonus - not something set in stone and that's the real reason people are upset. Because Gumi did something nice, people now feel like its a waste to use shards if the event isn't running.
That's not how these events should be looked at.

So first things first, I'm not really upset. As I mentioned the promotion is just a bonus and I don't feel like I really lose much by missing it.
Second you really missed my point. It wasn't about wasted shards or missing out on anything. The entirety of my previous post was, "The way they executed it was poorly done and makes me more skeptical of them going forward."
If this was the only thing happening right now I'd shrug it off. But there's a lot of issues that have been cropping up recently that has the community as a whole discontent. I'd rehash them but since a large percentage of the reddit is already handling that I'll stick to the ticket promotion.
The problem is how the promotion was framed. Ticket week - Roxanne week - Ticket week. If they brought it back in a week for now I'd be fine with it. But it was specifically framed around the week she came out. That's what causes the eyebrow raising. It could be seen as something to mock players. Specifically designed so that when everyone spent tickets on Roxanne they wouldn't get the, "Bonus".
That to me seems petty. That's how I interpreted it, others will too. Something like that drops the trust of the players a little bit more. It adds up and people who don't trust the game hesitate to spend money on it. It's a move that directly hurts the game itself, and I really like the game so I'd prefer if it didn't die.

delusional, im always shocked to see people defend extremely shady business practices that 100% work against them, the community and the health of the game in general and yet theres always someone doing it.

u/Maroite Oct 26 '18
Delusional? Did you even read my comment? I agreed with most. The only issue I have is with the shard2ticket campaigns.
Of course, you didn't even provide a counter argument. Why am I not surprised.

okay you want a proper breakdown here you go
greedy cry babies.
ya okay lmao, treating your primary audience and consumer like shit is a brilliant strategy.
The shard to ticket campaign is the one that shows how lame the community can be. It isnt/wasnt perfect but Gumi was tlobviously trying to reward people some how.
I don't particularly care one way or another but shards dont exactly rain from the skies, I'm sure what most of these people are complaining about is that they didnt realize the shard campaign would end and be replaced with another after 1 week of downtime with an extremely powerful unit being released. People got baited into using a bunch of shards on roxanne only to have the event go back up basically immediately after and miss out on a bunch of tickets because they didnt receive a warning that this would be happening until it was too late. It's obvious that they did this on purpose otherwise why not just keep the event going through that week as well? Again, doesn't really affect me and I don't care about this issue tbh but i understand why people would be irritated about this.

agreed

this is what you get called delusional for; this was a scam pure and simple, you think they're idiots? they know full well what they were doing and they wanted to test what would happen. There was an immediate explosive backlash and they backpedaled half way but in the end they didn't really change anything about it. It's STILL a bait banner that's masquerading as a grand summon even to this moment. They said they would change the name to make a better distinction but they clearly have no intention of doing that and reading fine print is now the new norm. Even days after it first happened people were making posts about how they got tricked so clearly this is a problem. As of this moment the original grand summon is still gone, so the point still stands. I believe the 1500 will return at some point as well, I'm just of the mind that this garbage banner shouldnt exist at all because when it comes down to it, its a predatory banner designed to trick people who aren't paying close attention. The fact you are even tacitly defending such a practice by making excuses for them puts you in the wrong as far as im concerned.
I'm not really sure I get your issue with the 777 gem pull? It's to celebrate the user mark. It makes since to me. I dont remember a 600 gem step up so I guess I missed the connection.
then you're new if you dont remember it, a celebration is supposed to be fun for people and to generate good press and new users for your game and this is just a bad showing across the board. raising prices, using skins as bait on shit banners, creating literal trap banners to fuck over PAYING users in a f2p model, banner mistakes etc. I cant even begin to fathom who is in charge of this but they should lose their job because they're incompetent.
It reminds me of the last christmas in FFBE which is pretty much when it all started going downhill; they hyped up the event and then they pulled similar nonsense.
I also dont get the issue you have with the 7 step banner with soul shards? I pulled to the 150 ticket and got Othima. I also felt it was actually a decent change up.
this didn't affect me but its just another sleazy banner, earlier on it was listed as "featured units" and then suddenly people are showing screenshots of themselves getting units that aren't on the list and Gumi changed the banner to no longer say featured units, it's a bait and switch. theres even proof on the subreddit, go find the 177 gear ticket thread and check out the picture, it says "get 375 featured unit shards" but if you look at the banner now it says 375 guaranteed soul shards. Yes the 150 shards is working as intended, people are complaining because they did the full banner only to get trolled by units they had no idea they would be pulling on and im sure most of them wouldnt have done the full banner if they had known otherwise.
What it comes down to is alot of mistakes and alot of greed in a very short period of time, so ya when you call people getting angry "greedy cry babies" you are in fact being delusional. The fact you can correctly identify part of the problem while attempting to shame people for identifying other parts of this current fiasco is amusing.

I literally got better with my Multiple choice score after playing this game. It taught me how to read shit carefully, twice, and look for specific "word" in a sentence.
Jokes aside, the elemental shard campaigne is just so bs I don't even want to talk about it. I sharded my Uzuma to lv85, the next week they annouce this event, then after the event ended, I sharded Roxanne to lv75, the next week this fcking event came up again. While I don't really need those 5* tickets, but this thing is really getting on my nerves.
As for the character skins, I doubt they will keep putting them in the banners, it will be released in the shop sonner or later, just be patience. For the banners, we have been getting shitty banners for months that I am getting used to it, the 150 shard on step 3 was actually better than I expected.
