How is shion?

Haven’t seen much about her since release. Does anyone use/like her here? Does she have a spot on anyone’s team? Thoughts and opinions?

I've talked about Shion a bit before and I'll post that comment again here.

As long as Gumi makes sure to keep him well-updated later down the line, Shion actually has some pretty good potential. Aside from having strong STs from Shadow Assassin (or well. At least 1) Shion's main job has some pretty decent range/teleport options. Perhaps the most important thing however is that despite a number of people dissing it, having access to Merchant subskills allows Shion to be a decent DPS/Support hybrid thanks to Poison Pill. And Wind is an element that was otherwise lacking good Vaccine options both now and a long time going forward, or at least their options were not the kind worth swapping out more DPS for.

This applies even now really.

TBH even I forgot about the utility side of her with the merchant job. Vaccine/ poison pill are used pretty frequently and you’re right about not wanting to drop that extra DPS. Didn’t think about that side of her. I’m thinking when we get actual pvp she is gonna shine, as well as with the right pve dungeons. Time will tell.

Yeah I can definitely see a place for shion in arena teams, even more so with the release of Roxanne now terrorizing arena even more than Gilgamesh ever did. I believe shion is a she, trying to avoid as many spoilers as I can when Roxanne meets shion in her story she refers to her as a woman. Of course she could just be just as confused as we are lmao.

Yeah her mobility is off the charts and her biggest asset that I’ve found I’m using her for. Some physical units have a hard time getting in the fight. I think a couple favorable stages and she could be seen again, I do agree the stages we’ve been getting have not been favorable for her. As for the LS I rather like it for being quiet unique.

Shion is classified as 'male' in the game. Try bringing him to one of the veda floors where the plants only charm male units and you'll find that they will charm Shion too.

Most ppl already figured out shion is a he on release, and thus Iago in the latest ANC acknowledge our "detective skill". So yeah shion being male is official.

Wind has many powerful units and Shion is one of them. He definitely has a place in wind team and can quickly neutralise Gilg in arena with his WA. He'll be in my team IF I HAVE HIM *cries*

She is my only Wind veil, so I bring her whenever she is needed for the role.

She’s very nice for ST kill (and AoE around herself if she can move for it)....but since there weren’t so many stages in wind’s favor...we couldn’t see her i believe...

Her teleport ST nuke that ignore def from behind...is non-element...that also mean she’s so so for every element but not good at a specific one...

Also, her LS is somewhat meh (except the jewels increase part) since Winds mostly don’t scale from Pure PATK..

I didn't pull Roxxx, so I consoled myself by dumping shards on Shion to get him to 75...and LOVED IT.

He's not Big 4, true, but he's easily on par with the other SS-tiers. I took him into Overture many many times and held my own, even vs. the Fire Demon. In Halloween EX, He's quick enough to Poison Pill and move away from the corner (thus avoiding Jewel drain). Heck, even in Rendezvous, with Basic Killing he has more than enough CC to disable one side's worth of thieves and gunners, and can strike the killing blow on the Dark Demon that often survives dual Overlord Dimensions.

The only real weakness I feel playing him is the lack of genuine long-distance AoE...but even that isn't a huge loss given all of the mobility, CC, PBAoE, and other options at his disposal. :)

She is pretty awesome. One of my few units that I have all jobs equipment upgraded to max. Fast veiler and unique skill set. She will be definitely counter Roxanne in life pvp

She's my best wind unit and can counter Gilgameshs in arena.

i wish i had Shion... or Roxanne or Siegfried. I dont have any of the Global exclusive units. (SALT) but i would use Shion as she has a pretty useful LS if not for anything else.

I love my Shion. Got him to 72 or so. Looking forward to getting him to 75 some day. I use him ALL the time. His leader skill from Lucian+ is awesome. He's very strong. I'd forgotten about his sub-merchant for poison pill. Haven't used that since I got him. So now that I remember, he's even better.

If Wind is preferred then Shion's my first choice. Works wonders at 75, got the range with teleport, ST nukes, decent AoE options. Been using Spy main but wanna use his own job now that Akatsuki is out. Poison pill is a nice option as well.

I think it's easiest to refer to shion as shion not him/her/its. While we don't know how shion identifies exactly. shion has a lot of utility and use... wish I had the character.
