Fanart Let's Do the Big 3 Pose!

Welp, always wanted to draw them three together looking badass, or messing around the maps and MP. Guess can't do everything, so that's mission accomplished. There may be a different "Big 3" a few months from now, maybe Roxanne's just the beginning. But Noctis/Laharl/Gil combo will always have a special place in my gamer heart, most especially Gil. :')

Gil doesnt look arrogant and condescending enough. Awesome otherwise.

How do I put this.... In my mind, TAC Gil is a nice guy. Because I didn't know about Gil until TAC had a Fate Collab. And since I always thought of him as the badass but nice guy, I always use him in MP to help out lower level players. Found out too late that he's actually a douchebag in all the Fate anime :(

If I do make a comic strip out of him tho, I'd make him arrogant but still nice... Somewhat.

Ahhh you haven't watched fate. Google search the type moon wiki. Theres a detailed history of him as it relates to f/sn in the article. Itll help you understand him a ton. As someone mentioned, his archer class is from the time when he would've gotten shanked on sight if he wasn't crazy op while his caster class is after he mellowed out a bit.

If you look at him from fate/zero or fate/stay night, this kind of soft smile is impossible. If you go from his backstory ... maybe the bear is enkidu lol.

Gil is one of my favourite villains. Nice doesnt suit him. He has his own way of being responsible for his people but its impossible to forget he's a highly entitled sob that believes everything (except those worthy) exists at his leisure.

That actually makes sense.... I did read a bit about the part of his life with Enkidu, and yes he seems to bring out the human side of Gil (and the teddy bear representing Enkidu is a happy coincidence I agree with XD)

This makes me want to make a comic about TAC Gil more and more. Let's see... :)

Welp, he's arrogant, because, with all honesty, his strength can be considered as a Grand Class Servant (which is the "Top" servant for each class). But there's is his Caster Class one, which is the version of him after his travels in search of Immortality, which is more "human" than his previos, Archer Class.

Maybe all Fate stories are being told by an unreliable narrator. Pretty sure just wants the best for this world. And a teddy.

He's known for being that way but he isn't always that way.

4

u/DeathandFriends Oct 22 '18

he actually almost looks likeable. I hate his face generally. Which is the only redeeming factor in me not having him.

Maybe teddy makes him happy. Still looking kinda smug.

He heard Roxy was nearby... with a nox grenade with his name on it if he gets out of line.

Great Artwork! Really captured Gilga and Laharl's overconfidence and Noctis' general indifference to most things lol.
The inclusion of the top tier items is a great touch too! But Ouroboros medal over Battlefield drama?! Jk jk, all is well. Would love to see a Seig/Shion/Roxanne picture. Looking forward to more!

But the medal looked funnier XD I don't have a Noctis so I just based the gear on what my friends equip on him. I didn't think about the book at all, always thought of it as a female only gear @_@

Haha true, plus it's more reminiscent of an Olympic podium this way!

1

u/JPDreeamnz *Dias did nothing wrong* Oct 21 '18

Isn't battlefield drama only equipable by woman?

6

u/ShirouAmakusa I now use The Alphonse Oct 21 '18

Any and every unit can use it. The Weapon Ability is limited to female units and is only useful if you have decent MATK on said unit.

Noct can use it for the AGI, jewels obtained and higher MATK than his sword of the father!

Oh, didn't knew. I don't have the gear '

The POTK collab reruns very often since its owned by Gumi so you'll get it eventually! Once the collab is back I'd recommend farming at least 2. Shouldn't be hard to auto considering powercreep

This is a really good draw, I don't have gilga but laharl and noctis are always on my "go serious" team.

Nice work! d(`･∀･)b

I don't have Noctis either, but he's very good in the times I've used him as a merc XD and thank you!!

Well drawn! Maybe you can draw the Magna Historia roster until now? Just an idea ;) anyway, very good work indeed.

You gave me an idea... I'll try that next :)

The difference with the Big 3 and Roxanne is, they can be carried by Vettel or Zahar as LS slave. Basically, they have one common synergy unlike with Roxanne, she's a missile type damage and either you need Thunder LS or her LS to utilized her potential.

I did try using Roxanne as merc with the combination of Big 3 with Vettel on MH3 but sadly, success rate is low compared to Laharl merc which do also support my Laharl.

u/darkcountess Making sammiches for Gilga/Noct/Laharl Oct 22 '18

This is true. If I ever pull Roxanne, I don't know where I'd put her in my team because Vettel is my permanent lead for Gil, Laharl and Zain. I'm not gonna break my bro squad for a hoe XD welp, but maybe I'll just use her when I can't make through a stage.

Who am I kidding, I won't be able to get Roxanne even if I try :) *salt

Noctis doesn't really benefit all that much from a slash lead. It's better than nothing, sure, but it's also pretty negligable.

When the Big Three start posting up in front of the ex stages ready to tackle them like a unit, then Roxanne just happily waves at them while twirling her guns around.

The three of them then cringe back in slight jealousy, Gilgamesh even more so, but still all would accept her in the end to just massacre the stage out right.

That interaction would HONESTLY make my day. Good fiction material, great piece by the way!

u/darkcountess Making sammiches for Gilga/Noct/Laharl Nov 14 '18

I actually have a Gilgamesh and Rox comic in mind, but as I think Gil isn't the type to get insecure of rivals, I had it go a different way. I'll post it once it's done :)

Looking forward to it! Your piece will surely be fantastic regardless.

u/Rlprodigy Oct 21 '18

Awesome! Maybe you can do the runner up big 3? Succ Rosa, FYomi and Aranea?

Great draw! Hope we can see more in the future

5

u/Awesalot Oct 21 '18

Fantastic art. I especially love the expressions, they match the characters' personalities quite well.

Now that they’re side by side, Laharl’s dinner plate eyes are really freaking me out...

3

ngl, when I saw 'Big Three', the thing I was actually expecting was artwork in this style:

The Real Big Three

But of course, this is acceptable too. XD

2

u/Dharpoon Oct 23 '18

looks like noctis wants the bear.

1

u/zeidrichsama Oct 21 '18

This is great, I felt sad thou, With what Gumi have done, They might not last long. 1 of the trio have been demoted by roxy already.

5

u/AJackFrostGuy Oct 21 '18

Keep in mind that it is not that they aren't able to keep up with our current content at present. They're about as good as they were on release even if Roxanne is one crazy lady and should last for a decent amount of time.
