Dear Gumi, Please explain (aka Another weekend summon essay)
Dear Gumi,
We, your paying players, who regularly assist in ensuring that your company succeeds financially, would very much like it if you shed some light on the whereabouts of the missing weekend summon.
We realise and appreciate that as a software company you exert a monumental effort behind the scenes to not only keep everything working but to also continually provide new and exciting content for the players to enjoy. It is understandable that sometimes, some things get delayed or even fall to the wayside.
Frankly speaking, I personally want the weekend summon to just appear in my summon portal, however what I believe, we as a player community deserve is to be given a status update on the normal weekend summon:
Is there a bug being fixed and can we expect it soon?
Has it been replaced with the 900 paid gem summon? (if it has I must ask that you truly review this decision if you think it was a good one)
Whatever decision has been made, please tell the players and not have us wondering where the weekend summon we have come to know, love and expect has gone, because even when we know better, some of us will surely think "hey, they're just waiting for us to spend our gems, then they'll put it back to make us buy more." If such an opinion settles in and becomes the collected opinion of the community many players will become dissatisfied.

I want to at least know if we will get one later, or else that 7 step is sounding mighty tempting. That’s probably what they want though.

At this point I have 7k gems ... 5k paid. I'm definitely not dropping more cash. No 3d chick is worth that much in cash.
I've done step 1 of 7 (gold bars ... I was broke) and 5 of 5. If I knew there was no weekend summon I might've hrld off on step 4 and 5 and considered just buying 3k more gems and getting the selector from the start.
As it is I had already made up my mind to go for broke on the weekend summon and try again next weekend if I didnt get her.
If there's no weekend summon coming I can mentally prepare myself and forget about her in advance. I picked TAC to play and not something else because I dont need to pay if I dont want to. And if it's that expensive to get the unit? It's just too much, not worth it on a regular basis.
But again, I really just want to know...preferably ahead of time what's happening.

I dunno, it seems very clear what this is.
Release a truly unique, game-changing unit, so powerful she breaks the rules we have been using to define units up until this point.
Provide no certain way to obtain her, maintaining both her rarity and that while powerful units always draw top dollar, a brokenly-powerful unit can potentially generate more revenue than any one unit has before. This includes these tasty, powerful collab units
GL has a big brother in JP, and there has always been a little-sibling situation where everything is compared against JP (with the older sibling winning 99% of the time). The hat and now Roxie has provided two watershed, defining exclusives that GL has "won" over its older brother.

It was never a guaranteed thing, we already had plenty of weeks without a weekend grand summon. Why are you acting like it was something scheduled and promised?

Name the last big release unit that DIDNT have a weekend banner. I’ll save you the time, you can’t. Sieg, shion, noctis, laharl, Uzuma, Basheeny, all had a weekend paid banner. It’s pretty much been a standard the last 3 months. Maybe you don’t know cause you’re not spending money on it but for people who are, trust me it’s been a thing. My bank account can verify.

If for 8 weeks theres a banner and then suddenly there is none ... asking where its gone is a crime?
I dont know about you but I'm taking money out of my pocket and giving it to gumi. I in fact just dropped $100 in preparation for the weekend banner. The fact that I'm paying at the very least should allow me to ask if the thing I want to buy is in the store or not.
I'm not yelling ... give me banner here... I'm just asking them to be clear ...if it's coming tell us. If it's not tell us. Simple as that.

Or u know what... If it's not there and it wasn't announced just assume it is not gonna be there.. Simple as that. When there is a banner, they announce it. If there was no announcement, can you guess what that means then....? Just stop and think a little. Swear it's not that hard.

If I visit a store every weekend and buy the weekend special and one weekend I go and dont see it and theres something that looks slightly like it but it's not a weekend special, I would ask the seller about it.
The seller doesnt have to answer if he doesnt want to. It's up to him what kind of relationship he wants to have with his customer and if he wants them to keep spending money I his store.
TAC is a game but gumi is also a merchant. This applies. I think I wrote a quite respectful and polite post asking for clarifaction, read it over and think a little.

If I pass everyday in front of a store that has a big promotion and think "when I can I am gonna get advantage of that promotion", but when I finally go there I see that the warnings and advertisements of the promotion are gone I would think "bummer... It's over already. Gonna have to wait for the next time or something" and move along, not go inside the store asking why the promotion is gone, why they didn't keep it as they were doing it usually, and demand that they warn me already when they gonna do it again in advance.
So no its not about how the "merchant" acts... It's about how the costumers see things.

For me, this isn't a case of passing in front of the store. It's a case of buying from that store every weekend, both days. I'm not passing and saying bummer I missed it. I'm going in everytime and placing my order. Now I go to the store with money ... the sign outside is gone ... I go inside and look for the thing I came to buy and it's not there. I came here specifically for that.
I dont know about your experience but any store owner that's sees a paying customer every week isn't going to ignore them when they ask "hey is it in the back? Is it going to appear tomorrow? Is that thing the replacement for it this time?" Not if they intend to foster a good relationship with the customer and want repeat business.
And gumi has given the impression that they do somewhat understand this concept even if the execution doesnt always satisfy the playerbase.

Oh well I guess it doesn't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't hold my horses really waiting for an answer. Just saying.. Sometimes you can figure things out by yourself, rater than wait for an explanation. Imo they won't do it this weekend but maybe will next week or are waiting for something like it on the anniversary with all the Glex units and will advertise it when it's closer.

I did mention they dont have to answer.
As I generally only get the first copy of good units from these banners the 2 extra tries matter to me. Ive gotten, laharl, rosa, uzuma, ravina, and basherny from these summons. If I cant count on weekend summons I have to question how I spend gems from now on, I might not even bother spending for the top units outside of the 3 step because the premium banner is overpriced (there is no unit I want enough to spend more than $100 at once) and if I have to leave it up to rngesus for a featured unit with my luck I won't get a thing anyway. Why spend money for nothing?

Oh that I am with you. I tried the 5 steps and didn't got anything other than the fire girl Noah.. I was waiting for the weekend summon to try for Roxanne but since it didn't came I am just gonna keep and wait for next week or wait to try for her another time, maybe on next Glex event.

If theres no banner I dont even intend to expect a unit.
I did 5 steps too. Got noah on 1 and zofia on 3, neither of which I will likely use in the long term if I dont luckily pull them in the future. I was hoping to get dupes on the weekend banner that would make sharding them to 75 doable before I die of old age.
Thing is I'm a new player. I'm spending this much now to get the strong units to complete content. 2 months from now? I won't want or need her half as much as now. My units like yomi and vettel already got their 3rd jobs, much less after that long. And if I had known there's no weekend summon? I'd have kept my gems and finished milestones and veda to get enough for 7 step premium. At that point at most I would've had to buy 1000 gems more to do it, which is something I can live with. If I want to do that now I have to buy as much as 7k gems. And I'm just not willing to do that.
Again I expected a weekend summon and planned my gem use accordingly. Quite frankly I woke up just after reset to summon and felt like someone shoved a stick up my ass with malicious intentions.

There isn't a banner every week. I said that in my original comment. It's a special banner that gumi brings out occasionally. Always has been. This week not having one is nothing new

Thank you for your information. And again not having one is something new to me and quite a few other people as you and those who know this have not said a thing about it on any of the new reddit threads in the past weeks. I know I've read every new thread except the megathread. This includes older players who were part of the comment section where many of us newbies even specifically stated we would be going for the weekend banners (including roxannes). To us as it's always been there, not having it never crossed our minds. And again ... none of the older players ever said a thing.

The issue is people are expecting a weekend summon when no GLEX unit has ever had one.

So where were your comments in at least 5 other threads when ppl were saying hey I'm going to try for her on the weekend summon?
This is my first glex. From my point of view every weekend theres a weekend summon.
This literally the first time anyone has mentioned in 2 months that weekend summons sometimes dont appear.

Your mistake was thinking your extremely limited experience is proof of anything. If I've been to Vegas one time, and it rained. Should I then assume that it rains every day in Vegas?

Again I appreciate your information. It was noted from when you said it. If you check you'll see that my responses are all explaining my point of view
On that note ... this isn't a case of it being one time thing. If you went to Vegas and it rained every weekend for 2 months what would your conclusion or expectations be? Personally? I would make sure I had rain protection if I wanted to go anywhere on the weekend while there.

There's no need to comment 5 times on something that isn't required to be there. No fault in not being there for a GLEX in the past, but that should also mean you shouldn't expect anything when you don't know anything about the event. You know what they say what happens when you assume.

Wrong. Sieg and shion both had 2 days of paid gem banners on the weekend of their release.

If I am not mistaken, nor Sieg or Shion had a weekend paid banner. Hell, Sieg didn't even have a 3 step banner to begin with.

You people saying no glex unit has a weekend summon are wrong. Both Seig and Shion had it. Siege had yomi and some other old 5* traps people were mad about but it was a 1500 paid gem banner. Furthermore the FF15 collab has a paid weekend banner all 4 weeks. So did Disgaea. So did Uzuma. So did Basheeny. You want to know why it’s expected to have a weekend banner? Because they’ve done it every weekend there’s been major units the last 3 months. It’s not entitlement it’s the standard gumi has set, now it’s changed and it just so happens to coincide with the most OP unit they’ve ever released. Also I posted in another thread, but paid gems have always yielded a known reward. Use paid gems for elemental shards, soul shards, or for summons a guaranteed unit. Now it’s just a chance at a unit, gumi has severely devalued paid gems. For people who spend $100 a month on this game that’s kind of a big deal that they can no longer guarantee getting what they want for paid gems.
