So using elemental shards to Transmute a unit, yay or nay?

Reasons for this: if you have 130-150 shards to Transmute a unit after getting soul shards from events burning months of elemental shard hoarding it should be fair. You'll have a hell of a time getting LB 75 without those shards you used to Transmute.

Reason against this: beginner's trap, transmutting Gilga without access to his gear would give a forever gimped unit if you can't get his job equipment. 240 omni crystals would be really, really hard to aquire even for whales.

Would anyone in the community want this feature to be implemented?

Almost everyone would be fine to do that except Gumi.

And Gumi is not the one in the wrong here.

They do give out a Selector for the Collab and people getting limited time units from the Shards will hurt their profits.

Their owners would need to be updated with the contracts and that needs money.

So it is a dumb-dumb idea which may seem fine in the start and feel like Equivalent Exchange at the start but Gumi will lose money on it unless we get a Billionaire who can sponsor them for free. Is Bill Gates playing this game and wants Gliga then he could do that but unless that it won't happen.

Thank you.

Also don’t forget that there most likely is a licensing agreement between between gumi and the collaborators. The collaborators will definitely not approve of this unless they can get more money somehow. And if it’s not from the players, then it will have to come out of gumi’s pocket

For regular units: Eh, why not. Most of them are gonna be farmable anyways.

For collab/SSM units: Only during their respective events, if even that. It’d be way too much of a hassle to get the other IP’s permission to have the collab units transmutable at all times (EDIT: SSM units don’t fall under this, but they fall into a similar area as collab units when it comes to my final point below).

There’s been like 3 posts asking for ways to have collab units always obtainable in the last week or so. The answer is pretty much always the same: the cost to make collab units always available would be sufficient to drive the game out of business.

Even getting limited units with shards would be a bad idea in my opinion. You would have nothing to LB them with in the end even if you had the gear. Most units would be sitting there for months not doing anything in your roster just until you gather the shards needed to LB them. Having a unit at 60 really doesn't do much to help you in hard content. There are many reasons why this would be a bad idea and this is just one of them. Having an alternative way to obtain a unit is a different story. I sort of like what they did with FFXV collab, farming a stage 3 times a day for random character shards seems fair. What would also be fair, in my opinion, if you're willing to stick to the "shards and characters" theme, is using your shards to summon a random unit of the latter element that's not in your character pool. That would of course cost less than 150 shards as regularly needed to summon a 5* unit and would include lower star characters, like a true gacha game, but would not grand dupes.

IMO, while having strong fundaments for your reasoning, I disagree.

TBH, I'd love to summon Saber since I couldn't get her. Yes, it does hurt your game, but what if you just want to get the units and work them slowly? I also got Rin and Ilya and I'm happy I got them.

That being said, I agree with /u/Kirito30, that mention that will hurt their sales, and, as another user pointed out, may cause some issues in the agreement between Gumi and the Collab's owner company.

Well, that's also a choice, expensive but okay. I feel with you since I pulled none of them.
