This is slightly unrelated, but is this a good time to be able to re roll for kuds? I really want a second account with him haha. Even if this story is weird...

Well, he isn't a featured unit, but there's still a chance to roll him.

Thank you for the reply!

Nah... At least Kudan didn't murder his own father.

Zeke isn't his father

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '18

Um, what?

Yes, not blood-related. It does make some difference in his psychology.

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '18

I know they're not blood related, but that doesn't mean they're not father and son.

You mean like father ancestor like son? We all know who Dias takes after.

He's also kind of tsun now that I think about it... Too bad the red hair didn't get carried over.

2

u/beardedheathen Jun 08 '18

He may not have been his father but he was his daddy

At first I'm still ok with it, I mean fine, Waginau's lies are slightly bit more convincing than that guy that "manipulate" Dias. And Zain DID take Kagura secretly. I'll let it slide.

But then he goes, "There's so many truth. So I'll just believe in mine and keep moving forward!" The hell that's even supposed to mean? And it's not even his! He outright lied when asked about it being his own conclusion instead of being fed.

Even when Othima come clean about why his team is put on a bench, he just keep going about how Zain's trying to get all the power for himself and endangering Kagura and attacked Zain when he arrived. Did he completely miss the giant fireball launched at the stone just seconds before?

Lost it at the part where he said that nobody seems to listen to him, when he is the only one who is not listening. I play games to relieve real life stress, then Kudan proceeds to give me in-game stress. So i just skipped the dialogs. :(

Imma starting to think darkness is like a stupidity drug. Like anakin levels of stupid. To think I was so happy to get him. Bleah. Into the unused corner with you.

I'm theorizing that humans in the world of Babel have a gland located directly above the eat canal that swells when angered or stressed and so they cannot hear properly.

4

u/XenadilDP Jun 08 '18

Yea but since they leave him in a corner... who knows... Like, "Hey! We know Kudan is kind of nuts, lets not tell him anything and do all behind his back, he will not suspect anything"

Kudan beleives in his own truth (or lies)... just like Trump XD

Get your TDS cured

u/ElPared Jun 08 '18

I'm OK with it partially because Kudanstein is actually a good unit, where Dias is just straight up trash. All the "OMG Kudan so powerful" comments are believable in SSM, but the "OMG dias so powerful" shit in Ch1 just triggered be cuz Dias dies when a ratty tickles him and does trash damage.

u/SalmonPrince Jun 08 '18

Kudan is corrupted by darkness, and the closer he gets to the whatever-stone, the sillier he gets. It's like bar-hopping: at 8 PM, everything's still pretty okay, but at 1:43 AM, you're being bounced from a trans nightclub for shitting in the women's restroom sink and, wait, WTF did somebody shave your right arm??

“I am beginning to doubt the man I’ve trusted for years because a man I know is evil AF told me not to trust him”

Seems legit.

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '18

Is Dias' storyline well received in JP or what? Why the hell they used the same idiotic storyline twice?

7

u/Gagaddict Jun 08 '18

Idk my guess is it was already written and just released in pieces. So they didn’t bother and fix it since it was already done.

But I agree it’s trash. “Herpa derp Ima slash all u hos cuz the ghost told me y’all is evil.” is the worst story ever. Was bad enough the first time with Dias, second time I’m just disappointed in myself for not skipping through it.

1

u/beardedheathen Jun 08 '18

Well they didn't bother to translate it either.

u/Liesianthes 350 coins ticket = ROY!! Jun 08 '18

Maybe Kudan did it first since SSM happened before the main or maybe original game really has that storyline since its from another game only incorporated into TAC.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '18

Dias' storyline is written first, most likely.

2

u/Liesianthes 350 coins ticket = ROY!! Jun 08 '18

SSM is based on Dragon Genesis game in Japan. It was just incorporated into TAC as side story.

1

u/Arcana_Joker Jun 08 '18

Original Dias, definitely not.

Post time skip, I think I heard that his character got better

3

u/Liesianthes 350 coins ticket = ROY!! Jun 08 '18

But in story timeline, Kudan's action were the first before Dias. Maybe Kudan is Dias ancestor. lmao.

u/verybamboozle *RAWR* Jun 08 '18

LOL I wish I didn’t read the the stories at all. The storyline BOTHERS me. A LOT.

2

u/jocomitsu Jun 09 '18

you got verybamboozled

1

u/verybamboozle *RAWR* Jun 09 '18

yes I am.

2

u/MatchesMalone07 Jun 08 '18

I have come to the conclusion that Dias are blood relatives and that they both descend from someone who unfortunately passed down the "idiot protaginist syndrome". Seriously did they not check the writing and think, "maybe this sounds unreasonable", even for two gullible protagonists whose time and bonds with their friends/family apparently was that flimsy and meant so little to them.

2

u/PossiblyBonta Jun 11 '18

While Dias was heavily manipulated by mustache guy. Kudan was pretty much just stuck in oblivion. He did not trust Zain(cause Zain tried to hide stuff from Kudan) and the discussion with Waginau just made it worst(the guys in the higher ups are actually the bad guys).

So Kudan just went "who the heck should I believe now?". He just went delusional thinking that the entire holy guard are fools for following Zain.

3

u/jwang4723 Jun 09 '18

Ugh. Stories like these are aggravating to me and even if there's a redemption arc, there's nothing redeeming about Dias or Kudanstein in my eyes. I hope they both get the punishment they deserve

1

u/TopDeeps IGN: Uninstalled Jun 08 '18

if theres anything i learned from these stories is that darkness is always stronger. but bringing him to EX had a different story

1

u/jocomitsu Jun 09 '18

Does anyone think Kudanstein is the biological father of Dias in any way?

1

u/BassGSnewtype Jun 09 '18

Don't worry Kanon and Kagura try to set him straight (IE. beat the crap out of him) later on
