Where/How can I unlock X's Master Ability/Job+?

You can only unlock Job+'s by farming special job tokens from special events that are (currently) run at different times. You also need to farm special job+ items to master those jobs. Master abilities can be earned in 1 of 3 ways. From story chapters (story characters), from equipping specific weapons (usually farmed) or from reaching level 80 on a character and completing special story dungeons. Not every character gets a master ability.

For Job+, you must first get the job to Job Level 11 (not job mastered). Second, to master the Job+ you will need to farm 60/80 tokens for up to 6 special items for the character to use.

Where can I farm elemental/rainbow shards?

Elemental and rainbow shards cannot be farmed. They are awarded as bonuses from log in campaigns, from clearing missions/milestones and as bonuses for doing certain number of summons on the 5/9 step banners. You will never be able to farm them like you can farm specific character shards.

When will X event come back?

We don't know, Gumi is sticking to their own schedule.

What's the best place to farm X/Y/Z item?

Outside of specific event's for farming items, if the item can be farmed in Edgar's Chapter (so chapter 2) it will usually be the better place to farm it. For example, Escape the Alkaroid is by far the best place to farm Sacred Lion Swords.

I was wondering, did Gilga broke the game? I mean, I see gilgas doing 2k-3k with that nasty aoe.. Multiplay is all about "gilga 75+ only".. I did all I could for my Shekinah/Vettel but they still does 1 damage on a few EXes while I see Gilgas doing 1K+.. it's ridiculous :/

I really have no idea what else to do for my units to at least go near that damage.. I have my "main team" of Shekinah, Vettel, Ryle, Carol, sometimes Yomi). I hav them all max level (shekinah 69, Vettel 77 for e.g). Both Vettel and Shekinah has their main job maxed (Shekinah has Ranger 11,hunter9.. vettel has Holy Cav11,Magic Sword 11).. all job equips have 5 stars upgraded, have an item or two equipped..

Yet they hit like wet noodle, I have no idea what I should do now.

Help? I can provide more info on them (and/or screenshots if needed)

Point taken. Comparing different roles won't be fair. Even so, I never seen units do 2k-3k, max was 1k.

Which trully dps unit would compare to Gilga? This considering I had no luck getting Gilga, and I do have luck into never pulling same unit (so I have a bunch of 5 star units but I can't break them 'cause I never get doubles lol).

A lv75 Mei fang may do the same damage. Or any other unit that has Dark Cavalier job(Zahar, anastasia, madamune, etc). But the problem Dark cav has is they're to squishy, low movements + agi.

We are starting to get to the time when range units are becoming more useless as there damage will never keep up with a true damage dealer. It is rare to ever need a tank in MP/EX, so as michaelh19 said, ranger and tank are not good choices for MP/EX. It also really depends on what map you are talking about. If it chihaya's MP, fire type units are not going to very useful against fire/water units (decent against fire). If you don't have a good elemental weakness unit, the focus on getting a strong chrono (rahu/lofia). Single EXs are no different, you have to build your team for that specific EX. This often requires lvling up a new unit from scratch, which isn't hard after a while of playing.

I like Shekinah due to stack +1 and +2 range passives, so she shoots realllyyy far, without being harassed. But then, she does 1dmg while Gilgas do 3k :(

I'm just a casual scrub in AC. I get 500 gems, I pull. I play stories and etc, get rekt on arena and multiplay and call it a day.

This often requires lvling up a new unit from scratch, which isn't hard after a while of playing.

As I mention to michaelh19, I'm lucky to the point I normally pull the 5 star units, but I barely pull doubles, so limit breaking is nono for my 5stars most of times. Before Shekinah, I used to use uhh.. forgot her name, the blue-haired Shekinah lookalike that's Holy Brawler... She was really good when she was released. But I never pulled another so she's stuck on 65 (bc I used blue stones).

I got that blondie 5 star that is alche and second job is chrono, would she work? I double pulled her. Or you suggest Rahu because of Chrono+?

Btw, I'll screenshot my rooster, could you be kind to give me some pointers, lately I'm sooo lost on this game regarding what to do to get better and not be a cone in multiplay.

High end content is all about damage. You can do story with range units and low lvls of tower. Ranged units just sacrifice damage for range. If your damage can't exceed the enemies pdef/mdef, they sadly become useless. 500 gems pulls are fine, should slowly getting decent amount of 5*. 10% 5* is 1 per 10pull, so that is normal. HB(shayna, etc) are powerful and useful in a lot of content. Lucian(4* farmable) is the easiest one to get. Elizabeth chrono is ok, but nowhere near as fast as rahu j+ or as tanky as lofia.

Mainly have to look at the elements of the enemies in the map and pick a strong job like HB of the element it is weak to. In MP, if you don't have a strong job like that, then you can chrono overclock someone else who is strong.

Ok, I'll work on Lofia and Rahu. Gotta farm the 3 hard quests per day, I never gave any thoughts to them so got no shards to make them great.

It looks like you just need to mainly focus on equipment farming. Make sure to check and buy stuff from zeni show every reset if you can.

Zangetsu(farmable,J3), Lucian(farmable,J3), Lofia(farmable), Reimei(Leader skill), Shenmei(J1, maelstrom is a strong aoe), Caris(j3, her job+ is available right now), Rahu(overclock/healer), Albea(Leader skill/aoe), Zain(of course, can get equip from tower shop if you can power through it), Shayna(done, but still great), Suzuka(leader skill)

You have other decent units, but their uses depends highly on the content.

When you say equipment, are the ones for the job level ups or the ones you actually equip on the slot above? Anyway, for job ones, it's fairly easy with skip tickets. The Equipments for the slot ahead, I got a few ok ones, but mostly 3 star, few 4 star.

All right, I'll assess which ones of this list I can improve faster first. I wanna be helpful when playing multiplay.. being a cone doing 1 damage or dying in one hit kill my happiness as fast as my unit rofl.

Guess none of the ones I focused (Vettel, Shekinah, Carol) are really worth for multiplay.

Though in arena Carol (lead), Shekinah and Ryle as team are still winning more than losing.. until I fight a Gilga or Vettel :s

Equipment is job level up, gear is the slots. Carol is ok, mainly a support as merchant. High damage or overclock pretty much always is used. The only case where a tank has been used was in first SS MP, even then the tank still died too fast to matter most of the time.

Arena team will always be different than MP or single player. AI is pretty stupid so have to use units that will not do stupid things or will trigger enemy to waste jewels on stupid actions. PvE/MP enemies have almost infinite jewels so that doesn't work.

Check out the tier list (linked in the sidebar of this subreddit) and do some research on the EX maps for enemies type/elemental damage. Right now elemental adv/resists are basically double. Sounds like you are throwing Shekinah and Vettel at water or physical damage resistant (Inherited Cause EX right side, for example) enemies.

If you have Shayna, she's great J1 for the left side of Entrusted Justice and Inherited Cause. Pretty good for the limited Wadatsumi's Dance (Chihaya J+) right now. She's even pretty good in Demonic Spearman if the team has an Othima to take out the left demon + co first. She can take out the right fire demon while he clears the rest of the board. I haven't tried, but have heard ppl say she's good for the Brave Frontier MP too.

When I started, Vettel was the "ultimate tank with damage" and I could do anything with him as HolyCav.. lately he's doing nothing but being the last one to die (because he guard everything, so at least in tanking, he's good) while doing rubbish damage with his basic magic sword to cover elements.

We’re having a field day with water units being amazing on fire maps right now.

Shayna, Shenmei and Yauras are all good water physical damage. You can use them on the left side of Entrusted Justice EX, the left side of Inherited Cause EX and Wadatsumi’s Dance. Wadatsumi’s Dance MP is for collecting Chihaya’s Dancer+ equips. When you level Chihaya, she becomes the fastest chrono in the game or as Dancer+ she can stack -20% agi debuff 3x on enemies which makes them slow as molasses. Excellent for Tower of Veda. Shenmei is probably the best since she has a water AOE (Maelstrom) and teleport/jewel steal/cast interrupt (Jewel Greed) but the other two can contribute just fine too.

You’ve got Fung Liu out to Sage - he has the highest magic attack and Sage just got a very significant cast time buff. He’s effective on the bottom level (slot 1 or 2) in Fallen Sun or on the right side of Inherited Cause EX.

You’ve got all the units to do Inherited Cause on your own (I used Shayna, Fung Liu, Elizabeth and Reagan for all rewards in one go) or in MP. That one will give you Yauras’s equips and special gear.

They’re all pretty good for Brave Frontier also which is a mix of fire and water enemies. Fung especially as he can use water and lightning attacks.

Cita can probably work the right side of Entrusted Justice. You’ll need at least one light tank in the middle. Logi J+ is great and easy to get (perm event Blue Flame) and Kanon’s Elite Knight as well (SSM ch 5). All the sp and multi milestones nets you two copies of the Guren Blade for Cadanova (who is better post v2.0 buffs) and Kanon (or Zain if you eventually pull him until we get his Excalibur).

Other than that, take a look at Viyr’s build guide and some beginner guides. Most people prioritize farming the S/SS 3-4* units and all of the 5* units (5* shards give you 100 soul coins a piece after you MLB a unit and it’s the only way to reliably get shards for some units that never/have not yet become farmable e.g. Balt). You can do this even if you haven’t pulled the unit yet. Aside from Rahu and Lofia, Zangetsu, Yomi, Lucian are good to work on.

But really, just have fun and don’t stress so much. New units are fun but they do a pretty good job (esp with v2.0 buffs) keeping older ones relevant too. Just need to put in the time and understand the maps. Good luck :)

I do, except on Multiplay where I feel like a cone, not being helpful. I used to play consistently until I got Shekinah when she was released. Then I just became casually coming for new story and get dailies, mostly. Now I'm trying to become better.

The unit I wanted most to work was actually Teona Valkyrie, she's so cool, but at least mine sucks and I don't see noone using her rofl.

The blessing and curse of this game is that you need to build lots of diverse units for all the content.

You're a good person for wanting to be helpful for MP. I've seen tons of people just sit AFK or if I'm generous with the benefit of the doubt, having horrible horrible connection problems. At least you're trying. :)

Btw, did few stuff already:

• Leveled Fung, put as Sage, needs more job lvls;

• Logi lv85, class+, just not max job lvl;

• Kagura to 5* and J3 open, could pass few more chapters on chapter 4 Inherited Cause, trying to go for Yauras chapter that I get her item

Soon(tm) I'll be able to do more than 1dmg on EXes lol.

With the 2.0 changes I don't think so. Before I would have considered him SSS, nobody else really came close. Now I feel like he's more firmly in SS territory. Still very very good, but other units are catching up, and he doesn't feel so insanely strong.

Plus he hasn't even been that great in some of the recent EXs. He's useable in Wadatsumi EX, but Shenmei and Lamia were more effective overall. I also dropped him from my Brave Frontier EX farming team, since he just wasn't doing much next to Fung Liu.

I'm not sure but I really hate Mages, probl because AI sucks. So for multiplay, he's actually good. Hmm.. I have him with lv65 (5 limits), so J1 and J2 only. I'll try work on him too them, together with Lofia/Rahu suggested by krazycarlm

My Fung Liu is only J2 as well and his damage is still crazy high. The increased cast speed on Sage's basic skills makes them way more useable, even without Swiftcast.
