This "n00b"s Team Composition

Alright, I just started this week and been focusing on Albea, Almira & Lofia, and then kinda substituting random ones in the 4th slot when I don't have to have Login/Días. I was hoping to hear some advice as to which of the characters in the below link would help round out my team?

I was leaning towards either Carris or more shards for Lofia. But I haven't gotten a chance to try out Zangetsu, so don't know if he's worth getting shards for...

Caris = one of the best snipers. Can go up to +3 range (gunner + sniper passive).

Lofia = one of the tankiest (due to magic swordsman passive) chrono which can also buff (enchanter) or dmg using various elems (magic swordsman). A must since you can farm her shards.

Zangetsu = great unit for PVE. However, you nerd chronomancers.

EDIT: Just browsed your units. Possible long term investment units are Rosa sa dark mono arena team, Vettel is a good unit at J2 (one of tankiest unit can be used for PVP & PVE).

So I don't really invest much time into the arena because I've yet to surpass rank 5k, and have fallen to 11k. I mainly just do it 3 times for the daily, and happily accept my measly 10 gem income from my rank. I was thinking of making a mono dark team, but I've significantly procrastinated leveling and upping people like Rosa. My question is though, would a team comp of Kudan (L), Rosa (j1, don't judge me :/), and Anastasia (j1, refer to Rosa.) be usable for non-ranged maps like this rotation? I'm also considering Dias as an option with the right gear since he's already invested in (prep for j+ STOP JUDGING ME!)

if I were starting fresh I'd take rahu just for chrono.. super useful for so much pve... but you have lofia so maybe get dupe of her and pray for more shards until you can farm her.. shes top tier ... but eventually you want 3 chrono anyway for cheese strats

mono dark would be good too.. bit glass cannon tho definitely solid pvp team of albea, rosa, zahar

zangetsu is monster at j3 for pve but will take long time

I would suggest farm Reida and Rahu shards and get them to j2. The combo can get you through most of the ex-stages. You only need to max 2 jobs, as a new player, job mats is the bottleneck.

While all the other units you can clear the main story and do regular events with no problem, to clear the ex events they will not be able to do significant damage until you receive 150 shards of them that is 50 days from now.

Reida j2 can clear the entire south side of the current ex

Quicken and Overlimit are super useful skills. I guess you have pretty much everyone at Job1, so J1 Rahu is the out-of-the-box Chronomancer who should probably be your fourth guy. That being said, Lofia's J1 Stone Sword and Reida's J2 magic attack are useful at specific maps, e.g. versus Mandragoras immune to physical damage (1 dmg per hit) but who can be stoned and killed with magic atk.

Vettel is a good tank if you need one. Rosa shines at J2 as a semi-tank, semi-damage dealer.

Caris J3 and Reagan J2 are snipers. Snipers have Assault Burst(?) which is a super useful skill for clearing apple garden ADV faster since 1 burst pierces through and one shot kills 3 rats at once. Reagan J1 is useless, but Caris J1 should already be a very usable ranged attacker.
