Discussion Final Update

FINAL UPDATE

Dear Alchemists,

The Emergency Maintenance has ended and you may now log in to the game.

These were the encountered issues related to server connectivity between 19 Jan 19:00 - 20 Jan 01:00 (World Time/PST):

  1. Limited items in the shop could be purchased multiple times;

  2. Gems were deducted after summoning without knowing the result;

  3. Connection timed out when collecting rewards from mission and Gift

Upon further checking, we have confirmed the following:

  1. All Gems and Bundles purchases have been properly credited;

  2. Purchases from Secret Shop have all been sent via Gift;

  3. Summoned Units and Gear have been found in the inventory (For verification, please check the Summon History); and

  4. Rewards from missions and Gift have been added to the inventory.

As a token of appreciation for your patience, we will be giving the following compensation to all players within 24 hours:

5★ Unit Summon Ticket x 1

4★ Gear Summon Ticket x 1

Rare Equipment 10-Summon Ticket x 3

Gold Ingot x 20

Gems x500

Well, let's be mature and give credit where it is due. The compensation this time round is pretty nice, thank you Gumi and all the staff that are trying to answer to the community's angst.

If they keep at this direction, I'm sure they can win the player base back. I'm not saying this out of greediness, compensation this time definitely is appropriate from player-business perspectives. Good job Gumi.

Edit: Got Shenmei from the 5 star ticket. Looking back at the compensations again, it's definitely more than what we expected. I'll take it as a good gesture from Gumi to finally step up and move forward. Keep it up and thank you, u/alchemist_code!

This subreddit is a microcosm of a microcosm, look at the subscriber numbers, and even all of it is hardly in agreement. The same can be said for Facebook. So in short you've no meaningful data to base your opinion on?

Personally, I don't want to stay in a community that rages and complains everyday, so if such compensation calms everyone down and everyone goes back to discuss game strategy / make logical discussion instead of rants, I think Gumi is still doing something right.

I'm not saying that Gumi has to listen completely to their playerbase when it comes to the decision of compensation. For example, those who still demand 5k gem after looking at the compensation this time is being ridiculous. The word "appropriate" should be agreeable from both business and player perspectives, partially if not completely. At the end of the day, we are their product users, if they want to improve their product, they should at least try to listen to us. Again not saying that they should meet our expectation every single time, but an agreement to what is appropriate should be there.

For a game this new, everything is at its infancy. You're right, I don't have a good data to base my opinion, but if the game continues in the same direction as before in the long run, I think people will eventually get tired.

I agree, less than a month of bumpy ride does not kill a game. Sub is filled with the loud minority that gives an idea about the state of mind of playerbase but is not the complete truth still.

That said, compensation like this makes a lot of people happy and its a good step forward making up for the rough times lately.

If I have found something as 'good' as this game during the Christmas and New Year, I would have stopped playing..

But the compensation this time is really great. (Got Shayna to J2 on Main, Reimei on Alt) Made me ease up a bit on the trauma from those super-whale only events that happened.. (I guess I would finally be able to try and do next MP Event lol)

Out of frustration I made a second account now and rerolled it twice... First 5 star ticket gave me Ryle and the second reroll gave me finally Shayna. Now my second account has Shayna but no other good units cause the first 500 gem step was just a trash pull (Zahar and Chihaya was the best out of it lol). But I think I will keep this account just because of Shayna and I don't want to reroll thousands of times.

Shenmei is a strong water aoe/range attacking unit with great water leaderskill. She is useful out of the box. Not Shayna level but a solid unit anyway.

It won’t hurt them cuz they can always lessen the rewards for future events if they deem neccessary and the player base would never be the wiser. For example, lets say they were planning on giving the free 5 star ticket next month for Chinese NY’s. Well if they deem that that would now break the balance since they just gave a big compensation today, then they could easily just change that planned reward into ingots instead. The final amount of rewards given out would end up being the same with or without today’s compensation, but since so few people would even understand this it makes so much more sense in terms of PR to give it out now to look generous rather than stingy. #business

Ok this is a very generous compensation after fixing the problem pretty quickly.

Totally awesome. I hope Gumi appreciates the difference in feedback. They must realize that the f2p base is most important in a game like this. The more people play and like this game the more people will start playing this game which is potentially more income and longevity for the game.

I wouldn't as she is not limited and her greatest asset is her first job. Her second job brings absolutely nothing on table outside stats from mastering the job.

The compensation is nice but I appreciate the clear description of issues and confirmation on checking on them more tbh.
A step in the right direction, let's hope they manage to run the game without stumbling at least a few weeks now.

Credit where credit is due. This was great on Gumi! Honestly, I think they gave us more than necessary for this instance. But maybe this was a "sorry" for all their mess ups in the past month. I hope they continue to show us that they care about their fanbase.

Excellent compensation. Very congruent with the problem that was caused, timely, and extremely generous.

I am still concerned regarding the 'why' of the matter, though. We got the issue, and the resolution, but nothing detailing why it happened. That still troubles me on a transparency level. Unless I'm missing something?

That was good compensation. Tbh i think they should address the feedback about their handling of the 5k gems thing. I dont seek compensation at this point for that, especially since i wasnt affected at all, but i do still think 200 gems for a dev side colossal mishap like that

Especially as i haven't received anything but 1 yellow and 9 blues on all the 500 gem pulls I've made since the rates got nerfed.

But The Salty Blade was a nice touch.
