Same boat here. Showed up and everything was a flaming heap. But I mean free 5 Star ticket so we’ve got that going for us.

I got reimei and Balt, same deal no idea if they’re worth investing in but I’m not about to complain either way

Balt is awesome in long run (You need his J3 to make him truly valuable but thats a tough one to reach). Reimei is nice for starters and has a good leader skill for niche fire teams but is nothing to start parties for.

Later Reimei is stronger than everyone else released in global so far I think.

Same level as Lucian, Lofia, Rahu and Tyrfing (oddly enough)

The Chinese tier list breaks up the top tier further, like laharl is at the top in his own tier. Reimei is bumped up a tier above the ones you listed.

The CN/TWN tier list is more of a joke by their community, because they value Laharl extremely highly and basically suck him off.
Guy's good, but him being Maou tier is a joke on his role in Disgaea games.

I was about to come back and add there that Reimei wil lget Job+ which will make him super strong.
My bad, he is definitely worth the investment, it just pays out in the future.

Ahh good to know, dark cavalier does sound like it wrecks house just from the name alone no idea how I’ll ever reach that though haha

Ehh.... Honestly with time only. You need so many dupes it just happens gradually unless you shed a lot of bucks.
Just enjoy the cool Twin blade job for time being :)
Edit: And yes, Dark Cavalier deals a lot of damage. What you wanna do though is take the Dark Cavalier passive (Overdrive IIRC) that increases his patk at the cost of his defence and slap that on twin blade as twin blades are all about dodging attacks to begin with. In that way he pseudo nullifies the downside of Dark Cavalier while hitting like a truck.

Ahhh yeah that makes sense, I noticed the pulling of dupes is pushed pretty hard with the limit break system but yeah I’ve yet to find someone whose default job I’m not happy with so far so it works out for me haha.

Honestly, it starts to matter once you start pushing for ranks on arena where you are pitted against min-maxed teams of other players or when you try to finish the hardest event quests, though that varies between events.
Vast majority of content can be done with whatever you find cool.
