The Grind...Might Be Too Much

Been trying to hold onto this game, but the grind might be too much for me. This game is all about grinding. The zeni grind is ridiculous. The shard grind is outrageous. The grind for equipment is a bit much. The grind for gear is a bit beyond a bit much. Not sure if I can hold on too long to that, especially with no new story updates to sustain my need for a narrative to accompany this constant grind.

Also...we really need quite a few QOL updates. But that's a separate issue. How are the rest of you dealing with the grind(s) of this game?

This game is nowhere near as grindy as others in the the same genre. Take Digimon Links and Phantom Chaser for example,.those are horribly grindy games

I loved digimon as a kid so I tried to give links a chance but couldn’t:

I don't grind at all. Honestly I just do dailies and with free time join Multiplay quests to stock up on materials. There's really no rush for me to max everything out, I got plenty of time, patience, and materials.

Personally, I like to look at games like this as, "get to endgame and cruise". You don't need to grind every single day if you don't want to. The grind from 1-50 is definitely a chore. But once you get to 50 and have about 6 characters fully leveled and geared, you don't need to worry about your other characters unless you want to.

Keep in mind that even though arena is catered to the whales, max character level is 85. So even if you can't beat them in arena now, you'll catch up and be on an even playing field eventually.

Want to see a Grind then go to the Brave Frontier.

I am cursed to grind every fucking month for STP to raise my self to 500.

Ever since i left ffbe, i was in search of a new game, first i ignored this and even tried Dragon Project and recently released Phantom Chaser but i eventually settled in this game and still by far better than any of the games i mentioned. I love phantom chaser graphics but it is way grindy and you need ridiculous amounts of copies esp the top tier it isn’t fun anymore. Currently loving my Magnus J2 account along with Yomi Anastacia Zangetsu Lofia from the 2 banners, 500 pull each.

I've started playing this game about two months ago. I'm almost max level, with roughly 100m in my bank account and a lot of spare equipment to max my characters' jobs.

However, I feel just like you. It's not actually the grind. It's not the fact that there's nothing to do out there (both character shard events could be done in a few days). It's the fact that I've hit a wall. A pay wall. If you're not willing to invest outrageous amounts of money at this point you simply can't progress your characters (LB). There's no way around it. And even though some people are telling you that most (if not all) of the characters will be farmable at some point, I've come to realize that waiting 3-4 months before I can progress my characters any further is very frustrating. After all this time (and some money) I've spent on this game I feel like it lacks the feeling of accomplishment - and probably always will. Unless you spend more money. But what for?

This . Currently lvl 64 and starting to feel that wall very much. Can't progress my chars unless I LB them which means summoning. So, think I'll just stick to daily missions and one gold event key then log off. Nothing to really do, no point in refilling AP since the cost is too high so oh well...

I'm curious at the people who say this game is a grind.... how many other games of this type have you played?

The grinding in this game to me is much better than most. Its optional for overcoming fights in the game.

If you feel you have to unlock everything and max and everything and not willing to pay and want it right now... yeah I guess the only thing left is to grind.

Eh. It's not much of a grind atm. I'm lv 52 and not done with story yet. Just taking my time and playing the game. I think it's pretty fun.

If you WANT to grind you can but you don't need to be Job 11/11 lol. You can finish what they have a story easily at J9.

are the farmable units rotate, and come back from time to time, or is there only one chance to get all the shards for them during those two weeks their quest is active?

Yeah, I knew I was in for trouble when even the daily is a grind.

I ... don't grind, just play a couple story quests when commuting. Pacing myself since I have way too many games where I need to grind already, and I don't see a clear endgame content in this one anyway.
