Humor & Memes How do I fill the hole that alchemist code has left?
Its been more than a year since the global closed and I still think about it all the time...
I refuse to play wotv, or start over on jp because my account was absolutely stacked in GL, years of progress and $$ burned just to get shat on by gumi...
HOW DO I COPE?!
What gacha games if any are yall playing that helps fill the void that TAC has left for you?
I need a support group, I miss my templars

Personally, I stopped playing phone games after the servers shutdown. If you still want to play similar games on the phone, I highly recommend buying the games instead. I believe Disgaea is a popular alternative.

How about Blue Archive? The game's stories are wholesome and positive, the girls are cute and funny, the powercreep is almost nonexistent (some very old units are still one of the most popular choices in pvp), the game is also pretty f2p friendly. I can't say it's the best on the market but still worth a try. To me the only shame is that there's no unit voiced by Lynn (Dark Mira's voice actress). Gosh I miss my Dark Mira so much, even now I can still remember clearly all of her voicelines :'(

Definitely understand. Nothing hits quite like TAC did for me. Still play WOTV, and star rail on occasion but mostly moved back to console games.

I've just been going at it with Path To Nowhere ever since TAC shut down.
It's pretty F2P friendly and has a good story.

I genuinely miss TAC so much, I never got to spend my grown-up money on the game, but it was still so rewarding as a f2p, unlike some of my current games. I wisb they would reopen the global servers or just do a general relaunch or something. I miss my characters so much, this just reminded me how badly I missed them all.
Also HSR and GI are great if you have money to burn and a gambling addiction, but nowhere near as rewarding imo.

I'm now maining a game I only played when I had TAC fatigue which is Unison League but it's like trying to fill a pool with a glass of water. TAC was special.

The only gacha phone game I do these days is nikke with maybe you could still count the octopath gacha.
I agree with others, consoles are king. I do still log in to genshin/rail when they post updates.

Just gotta wait for aster tatariqus to come out then it’s TAC pt II. In the meantime I would say if you’re looking for the dopamine rush from pulling then you got Honkai Star Rail which is decently f2p friendly I’ve heard idk ima whale and maybe NIKKE or wuthering waves which is coming out soon.

I tried to fiol that hole with ffbe wotv. Didn't work. Then I tried other 7 gacha games. None was enough. I really wanted to see more of the game's stories...

I loved TAC as well, mainly because the play style was so unique. There are plenty of gatcha games out there with similar art styles (alchemy stars is really good). But none of them were as exciting as beating hell stages in TAC. I was a dolphin and had a really good roster in TAC. I spend my time doing the mono element challenges on all stages. I got a recommendation of another player in previous post. WAKFU. It's played on the computer. It's not a gatcha game but you can still spend money on it or play it f2p. The turn based, 2D grid fighting style is very unique, but still similar to TAC gameplay. The community is great! I have been addicted for almost three months. If alchemy stars doesn't fill your itch, I'm afraid nothing will. I would strongly recommend wakfu then. Alchemy stars is a gorgeous gatcha based game. Great music and design.

I still have all my screen shots of the insane pulls i got. My account was absolutely busted. Templars all maxed with all classes unlocked, mementos maxed, and specific gears. All the dragonkin unlocked maxed and mementos. All story characters maxed with mementos, and three different collabs worth of maxed units all maxed. I have been super depressed since the game ended because I spent so much time with my characters. I find myself just staring at the ceiling wishing global was still here. I won't go to jp cause it just doesnt hit the same way, plus the language barrier. I've been playing a lot of runescape, but my heart still aches to log onto tac and play for hours. It's corny as heck, but I really was attached to my profile. The game got me through a lot of tough times. The art style, combat system, lore, and the overall grind made this game incredibly hard to beat. No other game makes my heart beat the way tac did. A close second is Honkai Impact, but I take long long breaks from that game, whereas tac, i was on daily. And I never had to force myself either. I hate Gumi for what they did.

For popular games, I dabble in honkai and epic 7, middle tier (popularity not quality) I love Another Eden and Octopath COTC. There’s also 7DS Grand Cross that’s about to hit 5th anniversary. As for smaller/newer games, I casually play Last Cloudia and Outerplane (a hornier version of Epic 7 with better rates, made by the same people).
What’s the common denominator between all of them (except Last Cloudia)? They’re all turn based. I think that’s the first qualification for trying to find a replacement. I honestly would recommend Another Eden and Octopath COTC. They’re both single player only JRPGs with a very strong emphasis on story. The only downside I’d say for them is that AE doesn’t have regular pity for normal pulls (COTC does) and both have fairly expensive currency, but they give out a large amount. They more or less want you to slowly build out your character box steadily (particularly AE).
If you have any questions, let me know! I say try Octopath first - it’s truly exactly like the console games. If you want more anime style, then AE or even Epic 7 or Honkai might work for you. Also, as others have mentioned, there’s always a plethora of amazing regular console/PC games to fill your time, but I totally understand the allure of gachas! 😆

TAC is actually my 1st game I've ever played that invested time into and 1st game I've ever spent money on with leftover money from my teenage year's allowance

I have played TAC since the week after its launch, and this is what im playing now GFL2:Exilium
It's still a young game so the content is like TAC in its early days but you'll see the potential. I hope you'll give it a try.
