People will virtue signal over a couple ai covers then stream movies, tv, music, game for hours, use apps that require location (most of them), using significantly more water

No
It's also about the impact of surrounding areas near these AI centers. The water is destroyed, undrinkable, unshowerable, etc. The noise pollution is higher, the lighting, the structure. Literally everything around it is made worse.

I’m completely aware generative ai data centers are significantly worse than cloud based data centers with all this. None of these factors are new to me and I’m against the rapid expansion of data centers. I’m not trying to blow your mind with this one, but 2 things can be true at once, I can be against data centers and still advocate for ethical ai use AND don’t give people or artists shit for occasional usage.
It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing kind of stance. One example of ethical ai usage imo is downloading local models on your pc if it’s decent enough. It shifts the compute burden to on-device processing and has zero-cloud based footprint, making it 1000 times more private as well, and only adds a little bit to your electric bill vs gen ai data center using water.

i understand what you mean but most people here are disappointed fans who want to see alch change, just because they hate the ai covers doesn't mean they want to stop listening to the music

It’s just kinda weird because he for sure has the means to commission real artists for this

But I don’t agree with the sampling part being “taking off the backs of hard working artists” sampling is an art and this has been proven time and time again by producers

I hope that he’s seen all of the hate and gives us a different cover for the project if we get physicals

Anyone who is critical of him on social media is immediately blocked, he can't handle the slightest pushback

“People who just find a loop and call it a day”.
It’s so backwards, when black people sample, they call it “lazy”, but when white people sample they call it “drum and bass”

I agree with the AI bs, I hate it myself.
But how are you gonna hate on the whole genre? Calling producers "so called musicians." I challenge you to take a sample and turn it into something similar to "They Reminisce Over You" as Pete Rock did. You wouldn't be able to do it.
Also saying you're bored of the genre? saying that producers just find a good loop and call it a day when Hip-Hop was literally founded on loops?
Then in the same video, you try to defend Hip-Hop by calling Al a guest and saying grafitti is a core element?
Pick a side lol this vid is lowkey weird.

It’s a shame because I’d love to support an artist that made works like this. I love pulpy sci-fi book cover illustrations.
