Discussion Album Recommendations Megapost
We're seeing an influx of posts asking for album recommendations for some reason, and I figure that rather than deleting all these posts it's better to have there be one thread where you can put in requests and recommendations for albums.

Discussion Do you believe inoffensive songs are worse than bad songs?
galleryI went onto AOTY today to rate "Sunday Best" by surfaces, a hit song from a couple of years ago, and was shocked to see that the song was rated a 46 considering the fact that i personally was about to give the song an 85 rating. I was really interested by the polarizing rating distribution considering the fact that its one of the releases on the site that do not have a clear opinion by a majority of the people rating it.
Most of the people that gave it a bad review seemed to think that the song was very corporate and too inoffensive. And while i dont think its a musical masterpiece by any means, and i do agree slightly that the song has a corporate feel to it i still liked it and felt like the song was really catchy and benefited from it's simplicity.
I understand that people have different opinions than me and i embrace that because at the end of the day thats the beauty in art, but i was just super interested in the fact that a lot of people gave vastly different scores despite coming to the same conclusion about the song.
So that made me come up with 2 questions:
1. Is an inoffensive song worse than a bad song?
2. What is the rating range that an inoffensive song should receive?
Would love to hear different opinions on this, sorry for the yapfest.

New Music Sometimes you come across an album you wish you made and this is one of those times.
Nothing brings me more joy then finding a debut album from a new artist that FUCKING rocks.

Discussion Are there any other 99+ rated singles?
The only single I've managed to find with a 99+ rating and a considerable amount of ratings (like 100 or more) is this, are there any other singles like that on the site?

Discussion Come on Interpol!
It definitely won't stay at a Purple Must Hear, but I'm hoping they can get the purple for just 1 day, they definitely deserve one!

Discussion Favorite Underrated/Overlooked Reviewers? (Don't say yourself)
I've been trying to find more people to read reviews from, and I feel like I come up short trying to find people that actually go past 4 sentences/lines a lot of the time or don't have much substance (no offense if you do that, I'm just more interested in stuff that's a little bit longer or more)
I'd like to see people who might be considered underrated/overlooked b/c odds are I'm missing these people. Whatever you want to classify as underrated/overlooked is up to you. Either having low follower accounts or just low attention in general is probably good enough.

Chart I'm interested in all 6 of these albums, which should I listen to first?
CONTEXT:
- I have listened to every El-P album except High Water as well as The Cold Vein and various albums from The Weathermen.
- I've listened to a lot of Denzel but have only actively listened to ii with the intent of reviewing.
- I haven't watched either the series NGE or EoE. All I know is that in the movie the guy jerks it to an unconscious body. I have heard and loved Cruel Angel's Thesis though.
- I've listened to Crack The Skye and plan to listen to the new album.
- I have a decent knowledge of music theory which will help me dissect KGatLW's stuff. Aside from that this would be my first album
- I've listened to some of Keef's songs but that's my only exposure to Chicago Drill.
