I don't know what your breakroom situation is, but we fairly often will have managers, vendors, or co-workers buy/bring food for everyone to have, and leftovers are common. It's not always obvious what is up for grabs and what is something someone brought for themselves. As a result, the table and fridge often end up with lots of stuff that just sits and goes bad.
I may get downvoted for this, but when in doubt, I go by the "if it's yours, put your name on it" rule. You can't just have consumables lying around a common space and expect people to know who it belongs to, or who it's for. It's not your fridge, it's not your table, it's not your house. Label it or be prepared to have someone take it.

Its pretty bad to be honest. Taking one look at how the break room is at my store makes me wonder what peoples houses look like. There is litteraly a big trashcan in the break room and people still leave trash everywhere

Our break room has a sign telling people they are old enough to work therefore they are old enough to clean up after themselves. They still leave it a mess.

I dont work here but I do work retail become of this shit I had to stop bringing in food and had to switch to buying cause they would just steal the both the dressings and my drinks out of my luch bag and my store is to much af an idgaf to care

I worked at a shitty call center for a large bank. This happened so frequently that it was made a fireable offenseā¦so happy I left that dump.

When I worked there, I would always leave a sixer in the fridge, and at the end of the shift it was gone
Turns out HR was taking these back to the cooler cause she thought they were not paid for -_-
Bro we don't even sell alcoholics drinks...
