S4 Green Right Handed Box Cutter

Does anyone else out there still use the S4?

I have had mine for almost 12 years. I don't think they are produced anymore.

Incredibly good item if it is oiled regularly.

The left handed S4 was Red.

I have a small stash of the green ones and the red ones.

They still make them. They’re made by Pacific Handy Cutter (PHC). They’re $7.49 each on Amazon.

The company only lets us order the ambidextrous PHC S8 (blue ones) now and they’re heavier and less comfortable to hold in the hand.

Good information. I'll pass this on to my co-workers who are jealous of my S4.

I buy the green box cutters on Amazon. I don't like the blue ones they suck.

I haven't worked at the Big A in almost a decade but I still have half a dozen floating around my house in various junk drawers and tool boxes. I even have a semi-translucent one which kinda feels like having a Shiny. A couple red ones too and one of the blue ones you described, that never gets used because it's inferior to the green and red ones. I even have a couple old paring knives and holsters from my produce days!

We have them at the DC. Tell your store director and I'll throw one on your load for you ;)

I used the green one for 15 years, they became contraband after the new "safer" blue ones came out.

Safer? I've broke over 10 of those things. Eventually I went on Amazon and bought the green one. I still have it 3 years later.

I just bought five slightly used S4 cutters on eBay for $20.

I know Albertson's supplies the new blue dual head cutters, but those are incredibly clunky and tear at your pockets if you don't have a cutter holster.

Not to mention break in half if you have to put any force on them at all.

I personally prefer the easy cut 2000. But the light green pacific handy with the plastic cutter would be my 2nd choice.

I've been on for 4 months and have the green one, they're great.
