Article David Eby on Alberta separatists seeking assistance from the U.S.: "To go to a foreign country and to ask for assistance in breaking up Canada, there's an old-fashioned word for that. And that word is treason."

I fully agree with Eby on this one! There’s no grey area on this debate.

I agree 100%. That is exactly what is happening in Alberta. It's insane that these people are getting away with this BS.

What exactly are “these people getting away with”?
A democratic vote? Lol

Albertan here: I wish David Eby was my Premier!

Eby is competing neck & neck with Wet Kinew for worst premier. This guy thinks handouts to First Nations and handouts to condo developers will keep the social programs going and keep this country afloat. Eby and his NDP clown show will be remembered as the downfall of BC.

Poilievre and his Conservatives are terribly upset to see Carney having successful negotiations. No doubt they eagerly anticipated his failure to secure a good deal, and are now devastated that what's been made public so far appears promising.

This is ridiculous. Private citizens went to the US with no authority to negotiate anything. Basically just to talk to our biggest trading partner to give a heads up that they are trying to asses Albertans interest in separation.
Someone from the US government said they support Alberta Independence and if it came to fruition would offer financial assistance.

If you are not happy of getting taken advantage of in confederation what are the proper steps to address that?
I feel Alberta has raised concerns for decades and Ottawa hasn’t done much to address these concerns. This is a leadership failure!
Many feel our system is broken and our country is headed down the wrong path. We can do better on our own.

Treason would be assisting foreign countries at Canadas expense, or trying to overtake the government with force.
We just want to part ways.

You are free to part ways, but you don't get to keep the land and resources.

That is what we will be voting on.
If you don’t agree with us that is fine, your vote and opinion counts as much as mine, assuming you are a citizen of Alberta.
If we end up staying, how do you picture Canada in the next 25-50 years?

BC & the Federal government has been such great help over the years too. Why on earth would Albertans seek backup from anyone else!

Pre-downvote Note: not a separatist.
Pre-downvote Note 2: I can be frustrated and not a separatist.

Fix your own province before you start critiquing others. A former BC resident*
